My daughter & family live in Lancaster & raved about the delicious Lancaster cupcakes. We live in Cape May & because of covid we haven't been able to see our family so we ordered a dozen cupcakes once & cakes twice for them. No delivery charge until last week. We ordered a cake for our daughter's birthday. Upon receiving the confirmation email, we noticed a $12 delivery charge! Outrageous! When we called, she said the delivery charge was just implemented that week. We should have been told right upfront. We have 2 more birthdays coming up for our grandsons & planned on sending cupcakes, but really not sure now. Very disappointing. read more

Lancaster Cupcake is a personal favorite of my future daughter-in-law's so when it came to her bridal shower how could I not order your sweets for the shower from them? The three flavors were mudpie, red velvet & raspberry lemonade. I initially thought it was a little pricey but after eating them I totally got it. Hard to choose a favorite but the raspberry lemonade is to die for. If you got a chocolate crave the mudpie will end it & the red velvet is the best red velvet I ever had. My husband and I popped in to grab our dessert early when our restaurant down the street had a long wait. We picked out a 4 pack, and I won't speak for my husband's tastes but I had the strawberry champagne and blueberry lemonade and both were absolutely delicious. Love this place! Previously lived in Chicago and have been on the hunt for a great cupcake place since my favorite closed down! I feel like a lot of the popular chain cupcake joints either have awful cake and good frosting or vice versa. Lancaster Cupcakes is GREAT. Their cake is moist & fluffy and their frosting is delicious. Some things I did not like about other cupcakeries were the greasy frosting that is cloying sweet and dry, rough cake. LC has the perfect mix that is fluffy, flavored just right with a perfect amount of sweet that let's you enjoy the flavor. The cake is moist and holds yummy fillings! read more

Ran across this cupcake place as I was walking around town. At first I was hesitant to pay $3 for one cupcake, especially because they are homemade size. But I saw they had birthday cake and had to try it. My husband isn't usually a fan of my birthday cake obsession but he said this was his favorite funfetti cupcake yet! The cake was super moist and the best part about it was that even the cream cheese frosting had sprinkles in it! The case that the cupcake came in was super cute too! I had met with one of the event coordinators at the Granite Run location, taste tested the different cupcakes they had and placed my order the following day. That coordinator had left and I didn't know that, but it got sorted out. Everyone enjoyed the cupcakes, they tasted delicious. You know they are good cupcakes when people hover around the table and go on and on about their favorite flavor and try to convince people to try "their favorite." Lovely presentation, but cupcakes are WAY too sweet. You'll definitely need water or coffee nearby to even get one down because of the sugar....you know, like when you eat some really sweet candy and have to wash it down. For those who like just a little amount of cupcake to a large amount of icing, this is the place for you. I'd say the pile of icing on top = the size of the cake underneath, and since they aren't big to begin with, you're getting a huge pile of super-sweet icing in every bite. Won't be back, which is a shame since I love a good bakery, but with all that sugar, it's hard to actually taste the flavors. Flavors are enhanced and become richer with sugar, but when the sugar is dumped in, it kills any flavor and the only thing you taste is, "sweet". read more

Delicious cupcakes! I love that they are normal sized and have a reasonable amount of icing. Many specialty cupcake places have their icing larger than the cupcake, which is already large to begin with. Lancaster Cupcake's ratio is spot on. Plus, or dog loved the "pup cakes". Such a cute cupcake shop! Their layout is stunning and the cupcake flavours are fun without being too eccentric. I got a Mint Chocolate cupcake and wasn't able to eat it until later that evening, but it was still good after being in the car for most of the day! They are very accommodating to give you a cupcake to go, even if it's just one. They also have deals if you want to get a multi-pack of cupcakes, since you'll probably want to try them all. read more

WOW, my 1 star review from January is suddenly completely missing??? Customer appreciation & service much??? NO!!! AGAIN, as Christmas gifts, my daughter reserved 3 seats for herself, me and her Grammy for the rainbow/unicorn cupcake decorating class. When she did make the reservation, the description DID indicate and word for word... "Reservations are required. $32 per person. Cost "INCLUDES WELCOME BEVERAGE", instruction, 4 cupcakes, and basic decorating materials." We believed and were looking forward to our "welcome beverage" which WAS indicated as being INCLUDED in the reservation! The cashier said no it is not included although again it was advertised as included and absolutely should have been honored! AGAIN, I DID post a review in January re: our DISAPPOINTMENT by NOT receiving what WAS advertised and paid for, I DID contact Lancaster Cupcake to express our DISAPPOINTMENT and NOTHING at all from anybody and now my first review is gone!!! So if you're thinking about having a wedding in Lancaster, I highly encourage you to skip the expensive wedding cake and instead hire the Lancaster Cupcake truck. It was a huge hit! Our guests were blown away. First of all, it just looks cool to have a food truck at your wedding. And cupcakes are so much tastier than wedding cake. We did 4 flavors: the Peanut Butter Oreo Chocolate, Strawberry Champagne, Red Velvet, and Tiramisu. They were all awesome. I just got cupcakes here for the first time today (at the Mountville location) and they are amazing! But the main reason I decided to leave a review is because there was a boy (maybe 15 years old) and two women in front of me in line, clearly family, and they ordered a dozen cupcakes. When the boy pulled out his own debit card to pay for the cupcakes, the woman behind the counter told him that she thought it was so sweet that a boy his age would pay for the adults - and gave him an extra cupcake of his choice for free! I love Lancaster Cupcake! While in PA this past weekend I visited the Orange Street store. What a wonderful happy place. There was a party going on in the Party Room, there were children playing in the kids kitchen and all the tables were full with people enjoying their cupcakes! What a great place to go to while in Lancaster, PA. The cupcakes are fantastic! I had their Mocha Study Buddy. Best cupcake ever! A moist cake with great chocolate flavor. I ate the chocolate covered coffee bean first and that just added to the depth of mocha flavor. I brought home their Coconut, Chocolate Raspberry, and Carrot Cake cupcakes. All traveled well and were very delicious 3 days after visiting, My Granddaughter absolutely loved her pink frosted cupcake. Not from the Lancaster area, on a whim I stopped here to buy a dozen as a thank you gift and a dozen to bring home for my family. 2 dozen cupcakes cost $59 and $3 to park. Not super happy about the cost I still left w my 2 dozen cupcakes convinced I had been ripped off for 12 normal sized cupcakes. Ive been to Georgetown Cupcakes and other shops and honestly have never been impressed or a cupcake lover. Until now. My husband and two daughters crowded around our $30 box of cupcakes. Peeled back the lining, cut it into quarters and immediately was impressed w the appearance of how moist it looked. But the taste - WOW! Hands down we all agreed best cupcakes ever and we could only seem to eat 4 of them between the four of us. Perhaps the box really was worth every cent. read more

They have a huge variety of UNIQUE flavors that they change up each week so it's not always the same flavors all the time. I could eat an entire dozen myself. Stopped in here while walking to the apartment I was staying at for a business trip. Very clean store, the two young ladies at the counter greeted me right away and were very friendly and genuine. Had a great selection of unique cupcakes, had a hard time making up my mind.- they offered some free samples. Got the 4 for 10 special. Was going to give them as a gift but I ate them all-they were that good! I used to bake cupcakes out of my tiny apartment in Queens for weddings and showers. I consider myself a Cupcake Queen and even know that Brooklyn Cupcake in Brooklyn, N.Y. has the best cupcakes I've ever had in my entire life. That is, until I came to Lancaster! Unfortunately I only tried 2 flavors, but that was enough to tell me that this place is doing something amazing. The strawberry champagne and the chocolate bourbon pecan were OUT OF THIS WORLD. The cakes were so moist and the frosting and fillings were so good. The strawberry champagne was like biting into a jelly roll with a super fluffy cake and the most perfectly sweetened/flavored jelly. The chocolate bourbon pecan cupcake was so moist that I swear they must have just come out of the oven before we walked in. Usually you can't really taste liquor flavored sweets, or at least I never think there's enough liquor in them, but these were perfectly flavored. Everything here was just perfection. I wanted to come back and get more, but we filled up on apple fritters from the farmers market. I know for sure that the next time we come to Lancaster, I am filling up on more Lancaster Cupcakes! read more
