We had a very disappointing and frustrating experience with Non-Stop Travel (NS). From the start,…read morewe told NS we wanted to travel with friends, and we also wanted to upgrade our flights. We booked our Oceania Transoceanic cruise about 18 months in advance - plenty of time to coordinate - but none of our request were handled properly. NS blamed Oceania for the travel arrangements, yet Oceania only comunicates through the travel agent leaving us stuck with NS and no real help. To make matters worse, we (friends and us) were assigned different travel advisors at NS who did not communicate with each other. Our friends and us ended up with cabins on opposite ends of the ship. We both paid for Business Class upgrades; we were booked on different airlines with different itineraries. Wrong information given to us. Communication was poor - excuses, delays and no accountability or taking responsibility. Based on our experience, we would not recommend Non-Stop Travel. If you want clear communication and a company that actually listens, look elsewhere. If you are considering an Oceania cruise, book directly with Oceania.

Today, drivers use their own vehicles but the service is still dependable. Cecelia and Ron are quick to respond and communicate. I can call or text and get a response right away from one of them or the driver. Ty was the driver this time for both days and communication excellent. My "go to" every time I need a shuttle. Waianae Transit Center -- it's the transfer point for the Waianae Valley shuttle bus, Lualualei…read moreHomestead Road shuttle bus, Nanakuli shuttle bus, Makaha Towers/Honolulu Ala Moana bus as well as the C Country Express Makaha/Honolulu Ala Moana bus. Waianae Transit Center is located on Lehoku Street. Passengers of the bus can see the view of the ocean from a distance as well as the back end of the parking lot of Waianae Mall. There's a clock fixture on the premises supposedly telling the current time of the day (not sure if it still works). There's no restroom facilities unless you want to consider the two port-a-potties that's available for the brave folks. Other wise the nearest restrooms are located at Pizza Hut for paying customers, Starbucks for paying customers, and Burger King. The few times that I have been to this public transit center I noticed some pre-teens riding their skateboards and doing small tricks on the sidewalk. I also noticed that the concrete sidewalk has a bunch of gum marks. Like most bus stop locations there will always be graffitis on the shelters or seats. Waianae Transit Center could use a bit more lights for the evenings. Especially when it's very dark. More lights equals to safe transit area for the residents of Waianae. Better to be safe in knowing your surrounding area than not knowing what's in your vicinity.

Although I visit one of the islands every year, it's been many, many years since my last visit to…read moreOahu. On this visit, there was one definite item on my list of things to do...and that was to go soaring! As a power and glider pilot, I've been lucky enough to be exposed and get training under various conditions. But the one condition that has always eluded me was ridge soaring. But here on Oahu (in particular, Dillingham Airfield) ridge soaring is fairly predictable and common. On a scouting drive to the airport, I met up with Brian who courteously gave me all the information I needed to set up a lesson in the following days. He stayed in touch with me by phone as minor changes detoured our arrangement slightly. Arriving at the airport a few days later, I got to watch sailplane operations...both winch and aerotow. Brian next introduced me to the flight instructor that would accompany me on my flight..."JJ." After the standard discussion about my piloting experience, JJ and I were buckled in and ready for our winch launch in a Grob103. Now most of my glider experience is through winch launching. But when I was told they typically winch to just 900 ft, I was a little skeptical as that is the altitude I'd usually be at when preparing to land. But this is their turf and I completely trusted in their professionalism and expertise. Releasing at 1100 ft (we got a little extra altitude), JJ had me bee-line directly for the ridge on the south side of the runway...and just like that...lift! So up we went! After just a couple passes up and down the ridge line, we'd gained just over a 1000 ft of altitude. With altitude, we could now extend our soaring range along the ridge. On this particular day, we found some really strong lift and some sink as well. But we worked a couple areas that had really strong lift and eventually made it up to 3800 ft. Besides seeing a few other sailplanes, you get a spectacular view of the coastline that stretches north (AKA North Shore)....waves as far as the eye can see! We also spotted a few whales breaching and making big splashes just off shore. But for me, the real beauty is awesome views in all directions...like the large windmills in the distance and clouds right above you. Even the green treeline on the ridge we soared above was a true sight to see from the air. Seeing everything from the air, is just better in my book! Of all the things I did on my vacation to Oahu, this tops my list of fun things I did! As we flew, I had numerous questions about ridge soaring which JJ promptly answered and explained. It was great to meet and fly with people that knew the game so well. If you are ever on Oahu, I'd strongly suggest you take a ride with HGSA. If you're a pilot too, take a formal lesson...you might be amazed at what you can learn from the unique conditions this area offers. Much thanks...Brian and JJ! I had the pleasure of being escorted via rail to this station from west station to stimulate a…read moredeparture from terminal 1 and 2, then arrival from terminal 1 and 2 from a friend who rides the rail daily to work at the airport. It was quite easy! It's cheap transportation without the headache of getting stuck on H1 trades east and west bound. The one way trip from station 2 (UH west Oahu to 11 airport took less than 30 mins!! The walk to terminal took me less than 10 minutes and that's with a roll on carry-on and a back pack. The same thing for arrival. The signage from the arrival curbside can be tricky to find but once you do find them, just follow the arrows and it'll lead you to the right place. I was treated to a golf cart ride up to the rail entrance upon exit from the elevators too (courtesy of airport staff that wait right outside the elevator). If you're arriving and wanting to take the bus, on the ground level you can see a convenient bus station a stones throw away from the station exit.

We took off out of the harbor and enjoyed an amazing view of the Waikiki coast until we made it out to our place where we would anchor. Captain Steve and Kama made sure everything was very smooth and comfortable for us. We jumped off of our boat and went on a scooter tour with Kama! He led us to HONU!! We couldn't have had a better time! We saw so many fish!! I definitely recommend for ANYONE of any AGE to enjoy their time with this company!
