Nice upstairs waiting room. Monday April 14, 2025

Monday April 14, 2025 Last time, that I flew on Lanai Air was 6 years to 10 years ago. It's a different place now. Drop off luggage/check in at the 2nd building on the LEFT side of the street of 150 Kaulele Place. Then drive towards the LAST building on the LEFT side of the street 160 Kaulele Place?? Take a ticket and park in the parking lot. Parking is FREE till when I don't know. For me, I parked first. Then walked to the check in building as I had no luggage to check in. Just a backpack that weighed 10 pounds of clothes and daily essentials. Lol. Check in is at 8:00am for a 9:00am flight. I was there at 6:30am to beat the traffic and if had any unexpected traffic accidents that's happens a lot these days. It costs more than Mokulele Airlines which I was supposed to use first. But, my flight was booked. Something happened that it wasn't later. Everything happens for a reason!! So, I am very happy that I booked a flight with Lanai Air after that unexpected incident with Mokulele Air. I highly recommend Lanai Air!! I will continue to use Lanai Air when going to Lanai City to visit friends and for hunting trips in the future!! The guy that checked me in was friendly and fast service.

Complimentary snacks and bottled water or coconut water in the waiting lounges.

We recently went to Lanai for our anniversary and stayed at Sensei so we had the opportunity to fly on Lanai Air! I must admit that after flying with Lanai Air, it's going to be so hard to fly on just the regular airlines. The staff were so friendly and always made us feel comfortable. Service was top notched and the flights were great! Upon checking in, a staff member came outside to greet us in the parking lot and walk us and our baggage into the check-in area. We parked our car in their lot which was just a couple buildings down so it was super easy and convenient. Currently the parking was free but they did let us know there would be a fee for parking in the near future which I appreciated the heads up. Once checked in, we went upstairs to the waiting area where they had small rooms so you could pretty much have your own private area to wait for the flight. They also offered complimentary water and snacks for us to enjoy. When it was time to board, the staff drove us on a golf cart to the tarmac. Okay, so I'll admit that the plane was a little small, and I get anxiety flying, but I'm SO incredibly thankful to the person on our flight who told me to lift my legs up so that it wasn't touching the ground to avoid feeling some of the turbulence. Those landings though were super smooth and the pilots were great! If you ever have to go to Lanai, you need to fly with Lanai Air and experience the top notch service!

Top notch service is provided by Lanai Air. Our flight was arranged through the Four Seasons Sensei. (Note: if you have a rental car you are dropping off at Honolulu airport, you'll need to arrange a ride from the rental car return to Lanai Air hangar; Lanai Air can arrange this for you.) A very relaxing way to travel. Upon arrival, we were checked-in while seated in comfortable sitting area. We were brought coffee, tea, Honolulu Cookies and the Wi-Fi password. Flight was smooth and staff is friendly. Highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing experience with Lanai Air! Mara picked us up at the car rental return and took us to the Lanai Air lounge. She was a delight to talk to and got us even more excited for our trip. The Lanai Air lounge is extremely comfortable and clean. There are several options for snacks and beverages - we opted for some tea and cookies. The kind attendant insisted we grab some Big Island potato chips for later and I'm so glad she did because they were delicious! No TSA or lines, when it was time to head out, an employee came to get us, we hopped on the golf cart and were escorted to the awaiting plane on the tarmac. From wheels up to wheels down it was a quick and easy 19 minute flight. There is no lounge on Lanai, so the Sensei Lanai tesla took us right up to the plane on the tarmac. As we were the only passengers, we ended up leaving about 20 minutes earlier than scheduled. Highly recommend traveling with Lanai Air. The included flights to/from Honolulu are a huge perk of staying with Sensei Lanai!

Great flight from Lanai to Oahu! We stayed at the Four Seasons Sensei Lanai and had taken Lanai Air only for our return trip and was really impressed with the lovely and easy experience. When we landed in Oahu, there was someone there to greet us and direct us to the lounge where we could arrange for our ride share. Overall 5/5 stars for the courteous and wonderful service- Thank you Lanai Air!

Opening soon, Lanai Air is located off Lagoon Drive in their new hangar. I don't work for them but I work with them on projects. The staff is friendly, the service is outstanding and just the experience is top notch for those going to Lanai. I don't know the cost but it's about the experience and convenience of not having to check bags, go they tsa then worry about the other things.

This airport/hangar was like a spa. We received complimentary passage on Lanai Air through Sensei Lanai booking. Such a cool experience!

Second, the views are amazing! To be honest, I was keeping my cool through the first half of the flight, but started feeling a little sick towards the end. But I'm glad I went through with the flight, because it was a great experience and I got to see parts of the island I haven't seen yet. We actually saw some hikers on a mountain. If you get the chance to take a flight with them, I would def. suggest doing it!

While driving from the…read moreairport, I noticed a sign about Magnum Helicopters advertising they did "doors off" helicopter flights. I was intrigued by that. Earlier that week, I had done another helicopter tour with another company that was more sedate but good as well. The day b4 my flight back to the states, I decided to give Magnum a try. I was looking for a thrilling ride that could rival skydiving (I used to skydive many years ago). This ride gave me the thrill I was looking for. It was so fun to have the doors off, be strapped in, and hear the wind rushing by. This place is very very conscientious about safety. You watch a safety briefing on a video, etc. The ground crew takes good care of you and makes sure you are strapped in well, etc. Our pilot was Josh and he made the whole trip fun. He was an excellent pilot, took us to see all the important sights, and had great banter with the passengers. You can tell he is very experienced with piloting a helicopter and very safe too. Feeling the wind blow in your face, mussing up your hair as you fly around was a lot of fun. We could bring our phones with us to take pics and videos but they had to be in a plastic bag case tethered to our wrist (case and tether is available for rent or purchase). Magnum Helicopters is also based upon the Magnum PI show. The helicopter is painted in those colors and there is a Ferrari that one can sit in (in the waiting area) and gets pics in. I am hoping to come back to Oahu later this year so I can visit the other islands. If I do, I'll be sure to come back to Magnum Helicopters to get another thrilling ride

We had a great time! Highly recommend to anyone who wants to see amazing views of the island!read more

There is quite a distance from the gates to baggage check. With the storm being fully active when we landed (late due to delay) with part of the airport passage ways being open air, there was flooding in certain areas between the gates and baggage claim. Our baggage came down rather quickly and we were greeted with Leis & a shuttle to our hotel. Though some of the areas were wet and flooded, this airport is really well run. Even upon our return to head back to the mainland, TSA lines were not outrageous and fairly quick to get through security. One thing we did notice when flying out of this airport was that all carry on baggage must go through an additional xray machine right before boarding, this is an agriculture check - which takes boarding the plane take slightly longer than other airports. Even with the added step getting through the airport was a breeze.

PROCESS & FLOW: Check-in and security felt smooth and easy, especially compared to many mainland airports TSA moved efficiently, signs were clear, and everything just made sense. Definitely still recommend arriving 1.5-2 hours early -- especially for mainland flights -- because Hawaii has a little extra step (more on that below ). RENOVATIONS & UPGRADES: You can tell they've been making updates!! The airport feels brighter and more modern, with renovated areas and improved layouts. It's a nice balance of upgraded + still keeping that laid-back island feel BATHROOMS (YES I'M TALKING ABOUT THEM ): SO. CLEAN. Seriously impressed! The bathrooms were spotless, smelled clean, and clearly well-maintained. As a traveler (and mom ), this matters BIG time -- and HNL absolutely delivers FOOD & RESTAURANTS: There are plenty of food spots for snacks, drinks, and full meals before your flight From casual sit-down spots to grab-and-go options, you won't go hungry. Perfect for a quick bite or one last tropical drink before heading home AGRICULTURE CHECK (IMPORTANT!): Hawaii takes protecting their land seriously You'll go through an agricultural inspection when flying out, where all checked bags are screened. Tip: don't pack fresh fruits, plants, or restricted items, or be ready to toss them There are amnesty bins if needed. This step can add time, so again -- arriving early is KEY!! TIPS FOR FUTURE FLYERS: Arrive 1.5-2 hours early (even earlier with kids ‍‍‍) Know the agriculture rules before packing Bathrooms are clean -- no stress there Grab food before boarding -- options are solid Take a moment to enjoy the island vibes before leaving Overall, Daniel K. Inouye International Airport is clean, organized, improving, and welcoming -- the perfect way to end a Hawaii trip (even though leaving is always the hardest part ).
