Second, the views are amazing! To be honest, I was keeping my cool through the first half of the flight, but started feeling a little sick towards the end. But I'm glad I went through with the flight, because it was a great experience and I got to see parts of the island I haven't seen yet. We actually saw some hikers on a mountain. If you get the chance to take a flight with them, I would def. suggest doing it!

For those who may remember, it was formerly known as the Circle Rainbow Air building. First impressions: reception staff is friendly and quick to assist in any way. The lobby area is both classy and comfortable. The meeting room is comfortable for our group, and the views of Diamond Head are gorgeous! Further insight: the manager of the facility and his crew are professional and knowledgeable of every aspect pertaining to the aviation service industry. You're in good hands here! Factoids: This building was completely renovated to include an 18,000 sq. ft. hangar, 7,000 sq. ft. of customer service lounge and crew-support areas, and 60,000 sq. ft. of office space. This was one of the most thrilling helicopter rides I have ever been on. While driving from the…read moreairport, I noticed a sign about Magnum Helicopters advertising they did "doors off" helicopter flights. I was intrigued by that. Earlier that week, I had done another helicopter tour with another company that was more sedate but good as well. The day b4 my flight back to the states, I decided to give Magnum a try. I was looking for a thrilling ride that could rival skydiving (I used to skydive many years ago). This ride gave me the thrill I was looking for. It was so fun to have the doors off, be strapped in, and hear the wind rushing by. This place is very very conscientious about safety. You watch a safety briefing on a video, etc. The ground crew takes good care of you and makes sure you are strapped in well, etc. Our pilot was Josh and he made the whole trip fun. He was an excellent pilot, took us to see all the important sights, and had great banter with the passengers. You can tell he is very experienced with piloting a helicopter and very safe too. Feeling the wind blow in your face, mussing up your hair as you fly around was a lot of fun. We could bring our phones with us to take pics and videos but they had to be in a plastic bag case tethered to our wrist (case and tether is available for rent or purchase). Magnum Helicopters is also based upon the Magnum PI show. The helicopter is painted in those colors and there is a Ferrari that one can sit in (in the waiting area) and gets pics in. I am hoping to come back to Oahu later this year so I can visit the other islands. If I do, I'll be sure to come back to Magnum Helicopters to get another thrilling ride

We had a great time! Highly recommend to anyone who wants to see amazing views of the island!read more

There is quite a distance from the gates to baggage check. With the storm being fully active when we landed (late due to delay) with part of the airport passage ways being open air, there was flooding in certain areas between the gates and baggage claim. Our baggage came down rather quickly and we were greeted with Leis & a shuttle to our hotel. Though some of the areas were wet and flooded, this airport is really well run. Even upon our return to head back to the mainland, TSA lines were not outrageous and fairly quick to get through security. One thing we did notice when flying out of this airport was that all carry on baggage must go through an additional xray machine right before boarding, this is an agriculture check - which takes boarding the plane take slightly longer than other airports. Even with the added step getting through the airport was a breeze.

Hawaiian Airlines is the worst airline organization I have ever seen in my entire life. I will…read morestand by that statement until the day I die. I have traveled across the Middle East, Europe, and Africa. I have flown to more countries than I can count. I've gone through airports with insecure systems, airports where absolutely zero English was spoken, and somehow still managed to check my bags and get my items where they needed to go. This is not a personal opinion. This is a fact based on experience. Hawaiian Airlines is the most disorganized airline I have ever seen in my life, and honestly, I could see them going out of business. As you can see from the pictures, there is absolutely nobody assisting customers. I don't know if they are short-staffed because they refuse to hire people or refuse to pay decent wages, but nobody is there to help because the employees themselves appear overwhelmed with responsibility. Secondly, you have to wait in a completely separate line just to get your bags tagged. If the system fails and doesn't allow you to check in properly, you have to restart the entire process from the beginning. Then, after finally tagging your bags, there is another completely separate line just to drop the bags off. If something goes wrong again, you are sent all the way back to the beginning. It makes absolutely no sense. You know the system where you get your bag tag and boarding pass, then drop your bags? The system used by 99.9% of airlines? I assume Hawaiian Airlines leadership said, "I have an idea. I'm going to make this whole system complicated and confusing for my customers." There are multiple breakdowns in this entire process. You have five employees running back and forth trying to help move bags, but only one main line that splits into two checkpoints for customers trying to check in. Instead of having workers properly stationed at counters assisting customers with bag weighing and bag drop, they have thousands of kiosks with nobody available to help anyone use them. Customers are left standing around trying to figure out broken computer systems that do not scan properly, do not recognize confirmation codes, and constantly fail during check-in. It is a complete mess. I will say this: the flight attendants were very nice, the plane itself was wonderful, and the staff assisting once I finally made it to the front were helpful. But the entire experience beforehand was unnecessarily complicated for absolutely no reason. There are actual classes and professional systems dedicated to organization and customer flow, and Hawaiian Airlines would greatly benefit from them because they are completely failing in this aspect. Lastly, Hawaiian Airlines needs to get its shit together.
