TL;DR Good candy but expensive. I would recommend it otherwise Small selection compared to the location on Airport (mostly chocolate and small stuffed animals). I haven't tried the non-chocolate candy as the selection doesn't look appealing to me. On my last visit, I unfortunately found out the hard way that prices skyrocketed, chocolates are sold prepackaged and not individually anymore. I got 1 bag of dark chocolate peanut clusters and dark chocolate raspberry truffles. Both taste great but the price... about $24. The workers are always nice and polite - no complaints there. The store itself is nice and neat but very quiet and normally empty - just an observation and not a criticism. read more

I have been going to this Lamme's location for decades and when I was in the Round Rock store buying Christmas candy back in December, they had completely removed all individual candy selection in the cases and in the jars. I was completely shocked. I've since learned that Williamson County Health Department made them stop selling individual candies. Why they did this now, I do not know. This has always been my go-to candy store for all occasions and I'm terribly sad that this store has changed it's format. I sent an inquiry for several boxes of chocolates that could not be shipped due to the extreme heat we're experiencing. I didn't want to go to the store only to find that I could not get what I wanted. I sent a message through their site and they responded within 10 minutes. I was already impressed! With this large order I had to go to their warehouse on the south side of Round Rock. The staff was really nice and of course I had to sample what I bought as gifts and the chocolates are delicious! *Note, you can see that some of the chocolate melted a bit in mine. Growing up in Chicago, one of the favorite trips we'd make was to the Fannie May candy shop. It was always around holiday time (Christmas, Valentine's Day) and the visual array of goodies and rich chocolate odors were intoxicating. Lammes reminds me quite a bit of those visits. The candy looks appealing and the taste quality is very high. If you have a sweet tooth that needs satisfying, this is a great choice. Recommended. read more

I bought sugar free white chocolate barks and milk chocolate with cashews and peanuts. They were pre-wrapped in small bags. When my husband tasted the white chocolate with almonds, he had to spit it out. He asked me to taste it and it tasted rancid! We tasted the rest of the chocolates and they tasted the same. I've been buying pecan pralines and chocolates from the Round Rock store for a long time and this is the first time it happened. I'm glad I didn't mail the chocolates to my sister.It would have caused a big embarrassment. Customer service was always nice though. read more

I asked a family member to stop in to grab a box of the delicious pralines from Lammes Candies. I even sent a screenshot of page from Lammes' website, so he would know what I wanted. The price of a 1lb box was posted at $18.75. Lammes would not honor the price from their own website. I won't recommend this place again. I don't recommend this especially if you want to preorder. I preordered chocolate covered strawberries and caught covid the day before the scheduled pickup day (Friday). I went to pick up the strawberries that following Monday. I was told my strawberries had been donated. I was then told that is their policy. I asked why I wasn't called or emailed before they was given away. I have left 3 messages and emailed the corporate office twice with no luck. The four of us toured the Austin area visiting mostly legendary BBQ restaurants but we're also stopping at Iconic places like the oldest bakery in Texas. We were excited to stop at this chain of candy shops. Surviving since 1885, amazing. The candy selection was great and it was pretty good! The service was lackluster at best. Our energy and smiles disappeared quickly as we encountered the woman working there. My wife says that you should be the happiest person if you're working in a chocolate place. I can't come to Austin without stopping by here and picking up some Pecan Pralines. They are the best, hands down. If you plan on munching on them or sharing it's cheaper to get them individually wrapped then the box set. They also have Habanero Pecan Pralines for the distinguished fire eater, if that's your thing. The lady behind the counter was kinda pushy. She offered to start wrapping our chocolate gift boxes, which I thought was sweet... until she shouted out a total to me and I wasn't even done looking around. R-U-D (RUDE!). lol I guess that meant my visit should be concluded. Talk about whack customer service. Mental note to self: Go do a different Lammes Candies next time. *BUYER BEWARE* Be very very very sure you want this product before you leave the store. They do not offer any exchanges or refunds. I purchased a pre-packaged, factory sealed Secret Santa gift, and was promptly advised by my employer of a food allergy. Tried to take the sealed product back an hour later and was told: too bad. As someone coming from out of state, I hadn't really been too familiar with this shop. We stopped in the other day and found quite a few nice things. The employee even had us sample some amazing chocolate-covered orange rinds as we perused the candy. I really like the dark chocolate raspberry truffles and the mint patties. They have some very nice nut and chocolate candies as well. I would come back for more if I'm ever in the area again. read more

Hands down, the best quality chocolate store around! Notice I said "quality," you won't get anything like these chocolates at the grocery store. They're a little pricey, compared to the national chocolate manufacturers, but these chocolates are rich enough in flavor and texture, you won't want, or need, to consume much to be satisfied. I've been going here 2-3/year for several years, stocking up each time. The dark chocolates are my favorites, esp those with almonds or cashews, and their dark chocolate orange cremes are awesome! I see several reviews complaining about the boxing and/or customer service. I've never had a problem with the customer service, myself, and I always let them package the chocolates in their paper bags, then bring them home, put them in freezer bags, and freeze about 1/2 of them. There's a lot to be said for maintaining the integrity of the family business by maintaining the quality of its' products. Thanks Lammes, for doing so! read more

In response to the owner's comment (which I just now saw, a year later): what you could do to resolve the issue is instruct your employee to check and see if there is another box, or rewrap a box, when there are no other customers in the store. You could instruct your customer service people to listen to the customer and not try to deflect blame. Offering the "option" for someone who is already unhappy with the service they've received at one location to go out of their way to get to another one is pretty ill-considered. Your customer service agent could have said, "I am so sorry. We will speak to the employee and find out what happened. What did you buy? If you go back on Tuesday, we'll have a wrapped box there you can exchange yours for." Your response illustrates the problem with your customer service. You are only concerned with defending your employees and your business. It's great that you have your peoples' backs, but you did not address a single one of the concerns listed. I guess the customer service issue comes from the top. read more

Been going to Lammes for years...and, only on special occasions...solely because of one item that my family members like. My dad has always brought back the longhorn candies from here and I was excited to go to a Lemmes shop. The ladies seemed bored and not willing to go out of their way to make suggestions. Was a regular customer. Would call ahead and Shelly would always go above and beyond to be sure I could swing by and get what I wanted in a hurry. She would even stay later for me if I was running late because of traffic. All I ever had to do was call, come in and pay and go on my way. Well, guess that was her way of giving exceptional customer service. I hadn't been in for a while and was travelling to my Momma's in Louisiana and wanted to bring her some Chocolate so I called and asked for Shelly and was told she had been let go. Asked if I could place my order for pick up and the girl that answered said she couldn't do that but would help when I got in the store. Very disappointed not only because Shelly wasn't there (and the gals that worked along side her), but because the customer service just wasn't there any more. By the time I got there at 5:30 the store had already closed and they didn't answer the phone. I have since found a new place to go in Georgetown. read more
