Wendy and Jo do an amazing job behind the scenes. I love that I get weekly emails about everything that's going on at the school and her class. My special needs son encountered discrimination by his after-school teacher. My son never thought he was stupid until he took that class, and the teacher yelled at me on the phone. When I spoke to the principal, she just told me that the situation had never happened. Being an ex military family, if you're pcsing, get all required documents far in advance. I tried and still failed, so be sure you get it then and there while in the office. If you have a special needs child, get an advocate. There are free and low-cost ones available.

Tickets sold in dollar increments. Food and drink items ranged from 1 to 3 or 4 tickets. Sodas, water, ice cream, cookies, brownies, cupcakes, frito pie, corn in a cup, tamales, nachos, hot chocolate. I'm sure I've missed stuff. Each grade sold something. Santa (my sisters brother -in-law) was there available for free pictures. The festival was held from 3:30 to 6 pm. Plenty of time. My nephew attends the academy and my sister was running around like a crazy woman. A joy to behold! Ha, ha.

The teachers are very hands on and make many opportunities to meet with you and ensure you are doing your best. Outside of the classroom they are available to meet in their office hours or lunch to talk through any life issues that come a student's way. The teachers are always more than willing to write a letter of recommendation. Chapel is always exciting and while you may get tired of singing salvae regina, you low key miss it when you're gone. I recommend everyone participate in the duel credit program they have with UIW because it makes the transition to college so much easier. I can honestly say that after graduation, I was prepared to handle the rigorous challenges of a University.
