Everyday when I pick him up I ask him did he eat and how was school. One day I picked him up and he told me he did not eat today and he was hungry. Then he told me that he's teacher did not let him eat his lunch. Because she said it's "not healthy". I'm was in shock and couldn't believe that my son wasn't able to eat like everyone else because he is a bit chubby than other kids. I am so angry! My kid loves it, and always talks about how much fun she had with Terri and Katie and Lourdes each time she comes home from school. All the teachers and staff there are amazing and keep you up to informed. Katie is one of my favorites, and keep us "in the know" with out us even asking. Wendy and Jo do an amazing job behind the scenes. I love that I get weekly emails about everything that's going on at the school and her class. If you are looking for a great school to call home ACORN is the place! They do have a wait list and going on a tour is a must. I recommend going online and check dates for the open house or call.

When I spoke to the principal, she just told me that the situation had never happened. Being an ex military family, if you're pcsing, get all required documents far in advance. I tried and still failed, so be sure you get it then and there while in the office. If you have a special needs child, get an advocate. There are free and low-cost ones available.

Tickets sold in dollar increments. Food and drink items ranged from 1 to 3 or 4 tickets. Sodas, water, ice cream, cookies, brownies, cupcakes, frito pie, corn in a cup, tamales, nachos, hot chocolate. I'm sure I've missed stuff. Each grade sold something. Santa (my sisters brother -in-law) was there available for free pictures. The festival was held from 3:30 to 6 pm. Plenty of time. My nephew attends the academy and my sister was running around like a crazy woman. A joy to behold! Ha, ha.

The teachers are very hands on and make many opportunities to meet with you and ensure you are doing your best. Outside of the classroom they are available to meet in their office hours or lunch to talk through any life issues that come a student's way. The teachers are always more than willing to write a letter of recommendation. Chapel is always exciting and while you may get tired of singing salvae regina, you low key miss it when you're gone. I recommend everyone participate in the duel credit program they have with UIW because it makes the transition to college so much easier. I can honestly say that after graduation, I was prepared to handle the rigorous challenges of a University.
