Teachers are not all Texas certified. Cute building & child centered but staff not child friendly!

They have a lot of hands on activities the kids get to do and expect lots of fun arts and crafts being sent home. My kid loves it, and always talks about how much fun she had with Terri and Katie and Lourdes each time she comes home from school. All the teachers and staff there are amazing and keep you up to informed. Katie is one of my favorites, and keep us "in the know" with out us even asking. Wendy and Jo do an amazing job behind the scenes. I love that I get weekly emails about everything that's going on at the school and her class. If you are looking for a great school to call home ACORN is the place! They do have a wait list and going on a tour is a must. I recommend going online and check dates for the open house or call.

Bottom line, this school is different, and you are impacted by that as soon as you pull into the driveway. From the playground to the entrance, children are encouraged to play with their hands and truly experience learning. I just had an opportunity to attend a day fully dedicated to father and child (this was one of the most special events)! Thanks to the school and it's leaders/teachers who are so passionate about our children.

Love Mount Sacred Heart!! Originally, I was put off because we're not Catholic. But, after trying…read more3 other terribly disappointing daycare facilities, I reconsidered. And I am so glad I did. This is the best Montessori experience in San Antonio. It is a great balance of cost and programming. I cannot say enough good things about this school. Mount Sacred Heart also offers traditional Pre-K instruction and, obviously, feeds into the associated Catholic school, grades 1-8. I don't know much about that part since the Montessori is separate. The children don't wear uniforms and those in Pre-K do not attend mass. The children do have some religious education, but I asked a lot of questions and am very comfortable with it. It has led to interesting conversation at my house as we're not at all religious. Since it is attached to a school, there is the option to participate in CYO (Catholic Youth Organization, I think?) activities. Essentially, it's after school sports. The community is great and the teachers/staff are kind and friendly. Don't waste time and money like I did. Just go take a tour of the school.

The program has been around since 1972 and it shows (both the wear on the facilities as well as the professionalism of the program). The drop off and pick up procedures make getting in and out easy, and if they went further than the kinder year, we would stay.

This was his first daycare experience, and the center made the transition incredibly smooth and stress-free. Convenience & Daily Operations * Prime location: Just 5 minutes from home, making drop-off and pickup quick and hassle-free. * Brightwheel app: Real-time updates on diaper changes, meals, naps, and incidents - a game-changer for first-time daycare parents. * Daily arts & crafts: My son came home with adorable projects every single day. Safety, Care & Comfort * Rare minor incidents: Only typical toddler clumsiness; staff handled everything with care and immediate communication. * Support stuffy allowed: They welcomed his comfort item, which eased separation anxiety. * Outdoor play: Two structured sessions daily, weather permitting. * Ms. Benavides (Director): Actively involved in supervision, approachable, and responsive to every question or concern. Nutrition & Curriculum * Balanced meals: Included all food groups with good variety - my son loved the options. * Snacks provided: Parents can send specific items if needed. * Strong curriculum: At 2 years old, my son is now praised for advanced speech and knowledge - I credit much of this to the center's engaging program. Staff & Environment * Teacher turnover: Higher than expected, but all staff were experienced, kind, and consistently smiling. * Happy kids: Photos showed joyful children; pickups/drop-offs were always calm and positive. * Family engagement: Fun off-site activities that welcomed parents and siblings. Final Verdict We loved Little Learners Academy and would reenroll in a heartbeat if we hadn't relocated. If you're in San Antonio, tour this center - your child will be cared for, educated, and genuinely loved. Highly recommended!
