I have one child that is about to graduate, and I know she is more than ready to excel in her studies at a premier university. Both of my children were able to grow at LHS not only through their education studies by a small teacher to student ratio, but also through amazing extracurricular activities including complete athletic programs and arts. The faculty at LHS is there because they care about the students and shows in their daily commitments. They over communicate to both the kids and the parents. They keep everyone involved in the process and welcome everyone into the LHS family. I will be sad when both of my children have graduated. She has always been a straight A student and an athlete. She did quite well on her SAT's and was accepted directly into one of the top Engineering programs in country which was her first choice of schools. One of the reasons we wanted her to attend a private Christian School was we thought the teachers would lead by example through their own conduct and standards. Most do, but certainly not all. It is my firm belief that any accolades and recognition for excellence received by students, should be based entirely on their own efforts and not who they are related to or for financial connections to the school. Examples of academic and athletic awards consistently going to student children of LHS employees and financial donors to LHS rather than student that actually performed the best, are many. Close examination of the facts will clearly reveal that both nepotism and favoritism are alive and well at LHS. When teaching students that honesty and hard work pay off, it is critical to walk one's talk. If hypocrisy rather than integrity is present in the actions of those in a trusted position of authority, than all the teaching of Christian values leadership and conduct is for naught. Examples of doing what is right, is what we hoped would be present, not situational ethics. Evidently, there is opportunity to learn about both. I cannot recommend a school where the underlying message is: "Do what I say, not what I do."

Some of the "facilitator" staff would yell and berate us verbally picking on personal attributes and private performance information with everybody listening out in open spaces. i can recall a moment when i was on my laptop and i was just playing a game on my free time and i laughed at a joke a teacher made not even provoking him. he then proceeded to announce and i quote "yeah and i laugh the same way when i look at your grades!". situations like that and the degrading treatments i endured linger on me still to this day and it feeds into my paranoia and depression. im genuinely afraid to talk to my professors at the college i attend now because i just have this subconcious fear that im taking up their time and that if they know that i dont understand everything that theyll think less of me and that ill be nothing more then a verbal punching bag in their eyes despite repeated reassurances by the college staff that that isnt how they think but regardless no matter how much they show that theyre happy and willing to help i just cant bring myself to ask them because i think about what would happen if i tried to seek help at afia and choose id rather not bother anybody. any time i see grades and any note left by professors even if positive i cant help but click out before i can read too much; my eyes water regardless of the message. this "school" is a cesspool of unprofessional behaviour and psychological torment and rather contrary to their motto i failed to "belong", i failed to "find joy" even going to the mental hospital to be diagnosed with depression mid school year, and i most certainly did not learn how to "be great" as im left a few months after graduation feeling anything but great and more something around the likes of defeated, irrationally afraid and depressed. on the psychological care side of things there is virtually nothing done to try to help those that are in a poor mental state theres no consideration for the depressed, theres no actions taken to help those overstimulated by struggles in life even if it had the potential to be a danger to oneselves. a unfortunate occurance regarding lack of mental health care and intervention i recall was one time after i came back from the mental hospital scared and barely holding myself together with the persistant and frightening subconcious thoughts, despite establishing the trust issues i had with them historically at the time, i went to the office of one of the administrative staff to maybe seek help and ask what to do as i was afraid to really talk to anyone about it and i was desperate for any lifeline that wouldnt immediately upset and cause turmoil amongst my family and close friends so i sat down in the office with tears falling from my eyes and asked what i should do in case i were to "dissappear", referring to the mental hospital, mentioning explicitly how i didnt feel good in my mind and that i was frightened of what may happen to me. and do you know what the response was? she handed me an agenda and basically told me that i should use it to organize my schedule and in direct response to my comment about myself disappearing said "okay lets not do that". and thats all she said before ushering me out. i conclude my review saying if i could i would leave a lower rating and the fact that they turned off and deleted google reviews is VERY telling. i would never wish to ever experience something like this again and seriously, if braination cares about what little positive reputation this school has left then they must take action now and intensively review the performance of administrative staff of afia. I believe the idea and intention is absolutely wonderful but it just doesnt live up to the promises and so im left traumatized into the start of the real world.

They are focused on opening up a charter elementary school more than correcting the issues in the daycare/preschool. We offered a lot of grace to this school as we wanted it to work out and liked the idea of Christian foundation for our child. They also do not have cameras in the classrooms to validate/review any issues- so you really need to trust your gut and advocate for your child. The only light of hope at this school is Ms. Sharon; she is wonderful and is the main reason we did not speak up sooner.

They'll call me to let me know of incidents that may happen and what they've done to take care of your child. Every day we go home with a report card that has your child's behavior, eating habits, how long they slept during nap, etc. Throughout the summer they have splash day every Wednesday where the children play outside in the water. Every week they have a different theme they focus on and fun activities to celebrate. During the holidays they put on a fantastic Christmas program that every classroom participates in. We absolutely love Trinity!!!
