I was told someone in office knows her so but that shouldn't have her protected. I did call about the child but nothing happened good enough to stop her from fighting a child almost 2 months later. For the most part, there hasn't been too many fights recently or any that lasted. But I want to talk about the teachers. At least 2 of my teachers are picky about the noise in the classroom. They either dislike when it's too quiet or tell us to speak more. This has been bothering me a ton, because when people don't stop talking the teacher will get upset but when they ask for feedback and no one responds except for a shake of the head they go crazy. When it's the same kid volunteering to answer questions the teachers get upset and ask for someone else. Not everyone wants to speak up, afraid of getting the answer wrong or just generally don't want to. The teachers can't seem to understand what's going on through kids heads on a day to day basis, learning is important but understanding your students is too. Now the coaches. Just yesterday me and my friend were leaving the locker room to get to class a minute or two before the bell rang, no big deal really. We were stopped by one of the male coaches and he told us to put our bags down and run across the gym or he'd write us up for "skipping" when class was completely over by now. This was baffling to me because we weren't skipping anything and we weren't trying to be sneaky about it either. The coaches make everything too much of a big deal. For our grades, they usually put a 95 for every "assignment" in the class as a participation grade. We played mat ball one day and the ball didn't even come to me once and I barely got play time. I received a 70 for not participating which dropped my grade down by over 10 points. This is the most stupid format for grading ever because if someone else is grabbing the ball before me I can't just take it from them and throw it. My science teacher is always complaining about my class because we don't answer questions and we're an advanced class, if she hears a little bit of chatter she counts seconds for us to stay after the bell rings and is always giving out warnings to kids who aren't doing much of anything to earn them. Back to the ID's from before. They are useless. We don't use them at all unless we want to go to games for sports, no one checks them and people have lost there's without a care in the world for it. Everyone in this school has been stooped down to a lower level because of these teachers and staff and it's not going to help anyone with a successful future. Instead of teaching us about scale factor in math -which I'm not sure I'll ever use in my life- we could get an early introduction into finances and how to pay for important things that we will need in our every day life ahead. The teacher's don't care about kids problems and one of mine is always telling us we need to learn how to be independent but all she ever talks about is how proud she is of herself and her kids. Thanks for the information I guess?? This school does not deserve to think of calling itself "The Best Middle School in Texas" because who are y'all trying to fool? I'm done with this buffoonery and denial. FMS #1 Exposer - r.b

The environment feels draining the second you walk in. There's no sense of comfort or safety. I've personally been sexually harassed more than once, and so have my friends. The one time I tried to escape it, I had to switch to online school. When my friends tried to report what happened on my behalf, nothing was done--not even a conversation with the person's parents. Staff brushed it off completely. Meanwhile, I've seen real, dedicated teachers get hit with weird rumors--while others in leadership, including the principal, have been caught doing inappropriate things and still somehow keep their jobs. Fights happen all the time. Bathrooms? I genuinely can't describe what goes on in there. It's not okay. And food? Let's just say I've bitten into chicken nuggets that were still pink inside. Dress code is all over the place. A friend got in trouble because her shirt covered part of her shorts--even though the shorts were longer than required. Another got called out for socks. It's like they're trying to find problems that don't exist, while ignoring the ones that do. Students who bully others are the same ones being asked to put up "anti-bullying" signs, as if that solves anything. The priorities are backwards. If I could say one thing to the people in charge: try actually listening to your students.

One of them (a coach) had told me once that they "didn't know where to put me" and when I would ask for advice to be better gave me half booty cheek answers. Refused to actually coach kids correctly or effectively. This coach in particular that I'm talking about was the head soccer coach my junior year of high school. I never talked back , always did what I thought they expected ,but yet was still not given the equal opportunity to play or be coached. She teared me down even more when I had bad days and never said anything when I did good. The day I decided to up and quit was when most of my team ganged up on me one morning just shouting horrible things at me making me even more de shuffled mentally. Not all of them did but most of the under class men female dogs did and I was nothing but nice and encouraging to them. Keep in mind, the coaches just stood there and WATCHED them tear me down, I walked off the field and went home. I'm not sure if the coaches there are just flat out miserable and enjoy breaking kids spirits but this clearly still affects me if I'm currently writing a review 2 years later. Also Mrs lane who's the attendance person or whatever she does there is trashy and unprofessional , I told her that my uncle took his life and she asked me why I wasn't really at school and when I told her I was depressed and rather be at work she flat out told me "why do you need money you have beats on your head" (the beats headphones). Which if you're reading this , I BOUGHT them with the money I worked for. She also attempted to embarrass me by trying to call me out saying I didn't want to graduate by asking other students in FRONT OF ME "do you want to graduate" and then proceeded to move onto the next person and ask them the same thing. She asked three or four other students near us when we were in the library to fix whatever we needed TOO graduate. There was about 20-30 kids in the library at the time of this event. I walked out in front of her because it doesn't matter who you are you're NOT going to try and tear down a student in front of their peers who's clearly trying to seek help. I was quite literally willing to risk not graduating because again, my uncle took his life and I had been previously depressed that whole year but yet she didn't care until it was the end of the school year and tried to embarrass me ? Many other students at the time agreed that what she did was wrong and that she's ALSO treated them that way or similar. And yes I do have depression, I have papers for it , my mental health was just not okay that year. It's one thing to give constructive criticism and I know for a fact that I CAN take constructive criticism but it's another when you're tearing down a minor to make yourself feel better. These are grown adults in their 40's or 50's like are you serious ? I hope no one ever has to endure the mental torture I have gone through not just there but in life period. This school needs to re-evaluate their whole coaching staff because their treatment just wasn't right. In no world will that ever be right.

    * UPDATE SINCE IVE GRADUATED OFFICIALLY FROM NEISD *…read more I'm 18 years old now and I wrote a review about bush when I was 14. While I still stand by my review, I didn't go into detail about what occurred because I was deep into trauma and mental turmoil due to the incidents involved on that campus. Starting off in 6th grade, I was hazed endlessly by peers and even staff for being "too feminine". Instead of helping, the administration at this school disregarded my mental health altogether. If I did anything that was not in their standards, I was either punished or ignored for complaining about being bullied. In 7th grade, I started to engage in self-harm and fell into a state of depression and anxiety that I was unaware of. I would come into school everyday with the mindset that I was going to be bullied and I wouldn't have any support if I decided to speak up. This was instilled because of the lack of care the administration had for students, typically POC or individuals with disabilities. I watched alot of my friends with learning disabilities get negatively criticized and even punished for "bad behavior". Specifically, there was an incident where I was physically assaulted by multiple male students on campus, and when I went to report it, those students still roamed the halls and hazed others while I would get ISS for any altercation or incident where I was behaving inappropriately. 8th grade was manageable, because I understood the school didn't care for certain students and I unfortunately fell into that bias. I had one teacher in particular that would comfort me because she also understood the underlying motives the administration had against certain students, and tried her best to help those in need. There was also 2 incidents on campus that involved a student bringing a firearm, and threatening the school. I personally saw alot of white students carry pocket knives and drugs on them, and were never considered suspicious or searched for their behavior and comments they would make. The counselors at this school were helpful, however they were not confidential and revealed information to my parents that were unnecessary to announce. I understand counselors need to tell parents when they believe their child is a danger to themselves or others, however, the information told my parents was in fact not dangerous or threatening, but took a jab on their parenting styles and blamed their lack of care for the school's trauma-inducing incidents. I've left out plenty of specific incidents that led to therapy, and while I don't think the environment is the same as it was 2015-2018, I still stand by a 1-star review that I don't think they deserve. If your child is going to be attending a middle school soon, please consider online, private, or even a different local school for them, as they will not be enjoying their time at this school.

In addition, there were concerns regarding the conduct of staff members. My daughter became involved with individuals of a questionable character, and I found the experience of dropping her off at the institution to be extremely petrifying. In an effort to address the situation, a meeting was convened with the principal of the school and the district; however, no action was taken until a year later, by which time the drug situation had significantly deteriorated and even like that it has not been control. Also, to note my daughter's involvement in varsity-level swimming and polo for four years was observed, and an attempt was made to solicit guidance and support from her Coach Nelson. However, instead of maintaining confidentiality, the coach disclosed the matter to the entire team and mom in charge of helping. Consequently, the team and their teammates began to bully and isolate her, excluding her from all activities. Furthermore, none of her peers spoke to her, exacerbating the situation! The coach was also complicit in this mistreatment, as were some of the volunteer mothers who worked with him. The names of these individuals were Janet Stewart and Dana Robinson; They were supposed to be nurturing and kind, but they also mistreated my child and were abusive towards me, despite knowing that I was a single mother who had cancer.I submitted a complaint to principal and the school district again, but no action was taken. It was only after my child began attending Johnson that she encountered individuals of questionable character, and that drugs were permitted on campus. Nonetheless, it is gratifying to note that she successfully completed her studies at Johnson with honours, was awarded with an scholarship, and has now enrolled as a first-year student at a highly regarded university, where she continues to achieve academic excellence. However, the four years she spent at high school were a particularly challenging period for both of us. It is therefore not a school I would recommend. If it is chosen by the reader, however, it is important to be aware of the unsavoury characters that are present, and to not expect any support from the school district or its staff.
