I had a stock sound system, nothing that was beyond the legal limit. I spent the night in jail and they ruined my start on life as a young adult, it was hard to get a job and I could no longer go to O'Connor events to see my younger siblings grow up and play sports for the school. These officers were tyrants and ruined many children's lives and futures, they should be ashamed. They even took me back to the school and handcuffed me to a chair in their office for 3 hours while my wrists bled & called in head coach Maleskey, who screamed and spit in my face. Look it up Poindexter! The only other local school to crack the top 100 was International School of the Americas at 92. Great job guys, now get your parents to brag about you. My understanding is that the basis of the poll is AP courses and exams as well as graduation rate and college enrollment. Now I'd like to think they actually base it on the charm, charisma and exceedingly good looks of the students' fathers but I digress. What do you expect when they allow you to roam the grounds with cameras and video cameras and have lunch in the quad like regular adults in college? It kind of makes you feel like a grown up. Can any of us say we were treated like grown ups in high school? I was still getting spanked as a junior to avoid detention on Saturday mornings all because of a few extra tardies! As parents if your kid is showing some maturity and promise in middle school it would be wise to check out the magnet schools for the high school level. When they first opened up the school it went only up to 7th grade instead of a full middle school.The second year they added 8th grade knowing there was not a lot of room for any of the students and they know this school is small. Another this is the car line it is utterly ridiculous! There are so many students and we the parents need to get to work. The first year the car line was not as bad but the second year OMG they waited to open the doors at 7:15 knowing they have a lot of kids and I just don't understand why they couldn't open it at 7:00 and allow the kids in. Another thing about the school is the teachers especially the middle school teachers they have no respect whatsoever for your kids. My daughter would go and ask her teachers for help when she didn't understand something and they would tell her to go look in the book. How would she go look into the book if she doesn't even know what she's looking at in the book! Another problem with the school is the Admin. They do their job poorly and don't deserve that position whenever there is a situation they don't do anything to resolve the situation. My daughter was body shamed by a kid and she reported the situation and they didn't do anything. Her friend got her parents called for talking without permission yes I understand that students should not call out but is it that necessary to call their parents? My daughter also witnessed a teacher yelling at a special needs student for being g to loud in the hall that poor kid did not deserve that and I can only imagine what else they do to those poor kids in the special classes. All middle school students are forced to learn Latin. The former teacher who was my daughter's teacher who quit his job (gladly) never helped the students, in their personal space, and obviously had no experience working with kids he was a horrible teacher. The problem with the teachers at invictus is that they take advantage of being a teacher who has a higher position and bully's these kids. This is a terrible school I don't recommend putting your kids through this prison at all!

With all my timing there I was very impressed and more than anything thankful. If you have any kids that need to go to school make sure they come here. Northside is a very good district however it is a bit tough to get the best services with them but at least give them a chance to tell you what they can help you with and everything. With me being autistic I was given the advantage to do sports and try different things that most people aren't able to do or try. Whenever I graduated from here at this district I can't be more thankful and more proud of what I've accomplished since Day 1 from coming here. There is a District gym with ALL the latest amenities in the East end of the school. However, the school has its own Main & Auxiliary gym in the middle. It appears to be a multi level building and it is at least 3/4's of a City Block long. Ample parking and a full practice football field.
