With all my timing there I was very impressed and more than anything thankful. If you have any kids that need to go to school make sure they come here. Northside is a very good district however it is a bit tough to get the best services with them but at least give them a chance to tell you what they can help you with and everything. With me being autistic I was given the advantage to do sports and try different things that most people aren't able to do or try. Whenever I graduated from here at this district I can't be more thankful and more proud of what I've accomplished since Day 1 from coming here. Now that I see my little brother graduating here in 2025, makes me more happy because I know he'll do great in life and everything. I'm just curious to see how it ends for him and all those that apart of Northside. Northside was definitely the best I've been apart of. I can't be more happier and thankful than I already am. Lisa has since retired, but still pops in and remembers our son fondly! Mr. Pinkston, the teachers and support staff are amazing!! We have never seen such kind, caring and knowledgeable professionals! Their attentive approach to students and passion for education has made such an impact! Fast forward 5 years, he continues to thrive in 8th grade with excellent grades and a great group of friends! When we were looking at schools, CHS offered SOARS support which really stood out to us and has been such an amazing tool for our son. Hear No Evil*See No Evil*Speak No Evil Hood said he planned on being there a long time, but he's apparently gone already, as so many before him. Could've seen that coming from a million miles away. By the way, Cornerstone had my first review taken down, as I now suspect many other critical reviews have been. Cornerstone has had some amazing people, Mr Harrison, Mr Puente, Mrs Puente (God rest her soul), Mr Hudspeth, Mr Sessions, Coach Navarrete, Mrs Ruvalcaba, and others, but the administration changes constantly! The big secret is, untouchable families, who do whatever they want, whenever they want, however they want; many are athletes and staff from the church and school. Shouldn't be that way, but we experienced it over & over. So, we left. Many others have left for the same reasons. A friend living near the school took their kids out because the administration wouldn't deal with the untouchables harassing their child who's on the spectrum. They told us 3 other families -on-their-street- left also. Cornerstone should be training up a righteous generation, but instead they're just coddling untouchables. Sad... Change must come from the top. We can only hope & pray.

With that being said, it was their first year being open, so there was minor hiccups, but nothing we found to be a problem. The Great Hearts curriculum and culture is exactly what we thought it would be. My daughter never spent more than 30 minutes on homework each day, and we felt the uniform policy was easy to follow. The other big factor for us was the community. When you go to Great Hearts Invictus, it's not just a school, it's a community that spends time together and really builds relationships. I loved this! I dove right in and have been pretty involved with the school, and I found this to be useful to know what's going on and be able to be present for certain things. I have recommended this school to family/friends, and I will continue to do so.

I recommend avoiding this school and only using it as a last resort. It is very unorganized, and the expectations for the students are unreasonably high. It literally strikes fear into the hearts of the students. and while i agree that some degree of fear is good, i also believe that the amount of fear that this school gives is a dangerous amount. And while i will give this school credit for having a phenomenal course and teachings, but in the end, the cons outweigh the pros, by A LOT. My advice for elementary kids if u do go: Just follow the rules, keep ur head down, and don't cause a commotion. My advice for middle school kids if you do go: STAY AWAY FFROM THE GIRLS THERE, they are VERY toxic... and my advice for high school kids if u do go there: Find a girlfriend quick before all of them are taken and just go through the depression great hearts gives you together.
