Food trucks offer some of the best food in my experience. For those who may be unaware, LaMacro is a staple in Houston for trompo. So when we felt the need for some tacos we decided to pay it a visit as it had been quite sometime. Location Self explanatory, varies, but on this visit they were located at a bar in the upper heights. Check social media for the latest location. Food - 5* I'm sure other items are great, but it's always for the trompo when we pay it a visit. Street taco style with cilantro, onion, lime with some hot sauce. Deliciousness. If you're feeling bougie up the game with some other toppings. Service - 5* They are quicker than most food trucks unless slammed with orders. Cost - 5* Great value. There's other trucks that compare in value, but typically they only take cash. They have a great thing going here and need to keep it up. Overall Just go. That is all my fellow Yelpers. read more

During my brief visit to the Raven Tower, I got hungry and stopped at the La Macro food truck. They are there pretty regularly, along with operating their restaurant on Washington which I haven't visited yet. The menu was limited and offered just a few basic items: tacos, quesadillas, tortas and a hamburger. They have three meats: beef, chicken and trompo. The guy at the counter indicated that trompo (seasoned pork) was their speciality. On my order, I chose 3 tacos, 2 with trompo and 1 with beef. My favorite was actually the beef, since it was different than the average beef / fajita taco at taco trucks. I thought the trompo was good, but just greasy. I'm not sure it's the best trompo in town since I've had several, but it's good. My favorite was the addicting green sauce, which was the spicier one. read more

This food truck is delicious! I come here every time I see a show at a nearby venue, and it never disappoints. I always get the mini tacos with avocado on top, and they're very tasty. They also have some great (and very spicy) salsa available. The food truck has its own selection of beverages, but if you want something alcoholic, you can visit the Raven Tower bar (they allow food inside). La Macro is a Mexican food truck that was posted up at 8th Wonder Brewery on a Memorial Day. I'm not sure if they're a 8th Wonder Brewery staple or if they move around a bit. Their menu mostly consists of tacos, quesadillas, tortas, and a burger. They are known for their trompo which is seasoned pork. I went with a trompo quesadilla (they have a small and large version) and paid 50 cents extra for sour cream. Annoying that you have to pay extra for what's essentially a condiment. The quesadilla was alright. Not bad but a little dry. Good portion size. I've had better quesadillas but La Macro isn't a bad option. read more

Parked in the courtyard of the Raven Tower bar this taco truck was much needed after a night of throwing back shots. The staff was nice and told us to go back to the bar and they come find us when our food is ready. If you didn't mind waiting they had a nice playlist playing in the background that you could dance to while you waited. I ordered the beef fajitas tacos, which you can get 5 for $8. The fajita meat was mediocre and the tacos are made with corn tortillas. My friend order the quesadillas and tacos and said the quesadillas were better. It's taco Tuesday and this is the only place I want my tacos from! I've been going here for a few months and it was love at first bite. I've never had a bad experience or bad food. The only thing you need to know is that La Macro offers the best trompo tacos, you needn't waste your time on the other options. The salsas both red and green are spicy so don't get overzealous on drowning your tacos in them. Do squeeze the lemon on your tacos as it will enhance the trompo marinade and order the mandatory Mexican coke. After you're finished with your tacos note that the it is actually a bar with plenty of seating and great entertainment. It is definitely a great choice to eat & hang out. read more

I totally couldn't wait for this place to open. I kept checking for what felt like months. I was so glad when it finally did. A new taco place is always welcome in the neighbourhood! I knew what I was ordering when I went in, and I immediately ordered a couple of their trompo tacos. This pork slow roasted on a spit is delicious. Its making my mouth water just thinking about it. The tacos come served with fresh onions and cilantro on top. They also have both red and green salsa available, but these taco are so good they don't even need the extra sauces. After I finished my initial three tacos I went back and ordered three more. When I went La Macro was BYOB. We brought a bottle of wine, and they provided a bucket of ice and some wine glasses. They had a limited selection of beer. There is a small inside section and large outdoor seating section. The food was delicious, inexpensive and the service was friendly and prompt. I am so glad to have La Macro back in a set location. They used to be right next door to me, since they moved out I have not had a chance to catch up with their food truck. So now they will always be there when I need them. Went last night and the food was just as I remembered. Ran in to the owner and he remembered me from way back, that was nice. My first impression of this place is the turnout. Despite this place being out of the way and just near raven tower and white oak music hall, there were about 20 people not even here from the bar. I got 2 of the famous trompo (pork) tacos with cilantro and onion, 2.00$ per taco with 50 cents for sour cream. Very good, but the tacos were small compared to usual. Secondly, the prices are noticeably more expensive than the La Macro website and even worse when compared with what they have on the Raven Tower website. Food came out fast and delicious. My husband and I were visiting Houston, on our year long travel around the country, and stayed basically the street. We stopped in one night and were really impressed. I got the quesadillas, he got the dinner combo, and we had a few drinks. It looks like they were still working on stocking the bar because they had taps set up without any beer yet, but you could still get canned beer and mixed drinks. This place has a lot of potential, with its outside seating areas, large screens for watching games, and delicious foods! We came though with our social bike ride and La Macro came though with pure perfection! We had over 50 riders and they served each and every one of us without fail. The line was long but they kept us happy with the fresh elotes that were grilled perfectly. Our taco dishes were mouth watering and the staff were ecstatic to see us all enjoying their work of art! They gave me beef, and when I tried to tell them I ordered chicken, the guy int eh truck who took my order said he heard beef and didn't offer to fix the order.
