Long overdue review. I used Lala's Tacos to cater my sisters bachelorette party for one night. Ordering was simple, they have a few different packages and you can choose depending on your party size. I had it delivered and I set this up probably a month in advance. Delivery was on time and I was in communication with the driver easily. He came and set EVERYTHING up. Had plates, napkins, the whole deal. Food was EXCELLENT and we had plenty of it. It was perfect!! If you are looking for a delivery option for an event your hosting I highly recommend going with Lala's. I even had a few girls from the party ask me about the info for future events they are having and we all live in San Diego. The owner can be a bit abrupt when you speak with him in ordering but I was fine with that. He was thorough and efficient and that's what matters. read more

How this company has 5 stars I will never know. They catered a friend's wedding this past weekend and "lackluster" seems too generous of a word to describe the food. Normally, I'm pretty pumped for a taco bar but man, was I disappointed. I made a crack before we were even in line where I questioned how authentic the tacos were going to be and let's just say, it was some serious foreshadowing on my part. I went through the photos before composing this review and the food pictured is not the food we served. The carne asada (if you can even call it that) was gray in color and had minimal flavor. I'm not even convinced that they used flank or skirt steak. The texture was off and the cut of the meat itself seemed wrong. Super disappointing. The chicken and pork options were mildly better but this stuff legit tasted like it was seasoned with McCormicks. Moving on to the rice and beans: I could tell before I ever took the first bite that I was going to be angry about wasting the calories. The rice was a pale orange watered-down color and tasted like it. Was there seasoning in the rice at all? Couldn't tell you. And then the refried beans...It's got to be pretty hard to make refried beans taste like nothing but somehow they succeeded. It was mind-blowing. Everyone at my table was disappointed and several people didn't even bother trying to finish their food. As far as the two salsas are concerned: heat but zero flavor. 1/10 Dessert consisted of churro bites and vanilla ice cream. This should have been the saving grace of the foodtravesty and yet. It was pretty cold outside and rather than make them to order (I'm sure they were concerned about time or something) they premade them and set them out so we could walk up and grab. Y'all, you know what happens when you take a churro and leave it out in the cold for more than 60 seconds? It goes hard. So we had crunchy churro bites with vanilla ice cream. I'd even argue that the sugar-to-cinnamon ratio was off because they didn't even taste like they could have been delicious had they been served hot. Now I can't speak to this next part personally but...I also heard that they were extremely difficult to work with and the bride was nearly in tears. Take that with a grain of salt but I can't imagine that the person telling me was making it up. The only redeeming quality was that the two women working seemed friendly enough. That said, find yourself a real taco guy and hard pass on this place. I assure you that there was nothing "legit" about the food that was served. read more

BOOK THEM NOW. We just hosted a 100+ person celebration for my parent's 50th wedding anniversary and LaLa Tacos could not have been more perfect. Aron and Celina were so helpful from initial tasting to the event date. They were extremely responsive from start to finish and happy to make recommendations when asked (that ended up being perfect BTW). We even had to make a last minute change to the head count (+30 guests) and they amended with no issue. Service on-site was prompt, friendly and SO DELICIOUS. We got so many compliments. We recently used them for a joint party and we were all very disappointed. The rice was the most bland rice I've ever attempted to eat. We had carnitas, Asada, el pastor which we're all decent. We ordered 35 plates and some of the trays listed 25 and 30, which I believe meant how many portions? They did give my party co-chair a refund since none of them stated 35. We had LaLa cater my sister's birthday party this past Saturday and we couldn't be more pleased. The food was so delicious; the guests could not stop raving about it! We had the carnitas, chicken, grilled vegetables and carne asada. It was such high quality and prepared so well. We'd chosen LaLa's because they have vegan options. The tray we ordered was the vegan chorizo with potatoes and peppers. Unbelievably delicious. We couldn't keep the non-vegans away from it! Other stand-outs were the chunky guacamole, so yummy, and the chipotle crema. We don't don't what goes into that chipotle crema but it is out of this world addictive! We had only one small issue when our order arrived. The frescas were delivered in big water bottles. I called up Celina to let her know I'd expected to see dispensers for the frescas since that was what was in the pictures on the website. I explained to her that I didn't have anything to serve the frescas in. Celina was up to our house in less than 15 minutes with two very nice serving jugs with ladles. LaLa's is on the pricey side but we really felt that we got our money's worth. The website made it really easy to choose our menu and place our order, the food was incredibly delicious, and Celina was so kind to make sure we had everything we needed. The previous taco lady we had used for a large party was not available so in a panic I reached out to 3 other taco vendors. La La's is the only one who replied. The owner provided great follow up and communication, and made excellent recommendations for the amount I would need to order for a wedding shower with about 35 people. The food is excellent. Yesterday, Ruben of LaLa Taco catered our event in Temecula. He was a delightful and friendly host for his cart. The tacos/meats and quesadillas were all flavorful & amazing, so was the set up. Rice/beans and salsa were great too. all our guests raved about the cart! The stove and Taco making bowls were all very clean, which I'm a fanatic about. The charcuterie trays that we added as an extra were over the top beautiful, high quality meats/cheeses/fruits and plentiful. Ruben even remembered the coordinators names, so professional. Updated to 4 Stars (1/20/22): After I left the initial review, below, Aaron reached out to me to apologize for the issue we experienced. He was unaware of what had transpired and has taken steps to make sure he is informed of future issues. He let me know that he has taken over the scheduling of deliveries. In the future, I would recommend working with Aaron to make sure that your event goes smoothly. 1/18/22: I would have given 2.5 starts if I could have, but that is not an option. Customer Service Review: Customer service was great until three days before the event. They let me change the number of guests ten days before the event, as COVID kept some of our guests from joining us, which I was super grateful for. I had originally booked them back in July, for an original time of 2:30 pm drop off. When all was said and done, and I paid the deposit we agreed to a 2 pm to 2:45 pm delivery window in Eastvale. The actual address we had them delivered to was in Corona, closer to their location in Temecula, which is why the delivery time debacle is also puzzling. Three days before the event, we were emailing back and forth about the delivery address and the delivery time changed from the first email from them to the second email on the same day. The first email had the agreed upon delivery time of between 2 pm to 2:45 pm, the second email said 1:30 pm. I initially didn't notice the changed time because I was looking for the updated and corrected total due (most of the emails they sent me had too high of a charge on them). Once I realized the mistaken delivery time, I emailed back to try and rectify the situation. When I asked about the delivery time, they wanted $100 to guarantee a delivery time of 2:30 pm (the time I requested back in July). We were already paying a delivery fee of $40, and they wanted to increase that when they were not scheduling delivery times properly. I tried to compromise and asked them to waive the delivery fee, and we would take the food at whatever time we had too, but they would not change the delivery fee, as it is "all their delivery drivers make." I had booked in JULY, so there was plenty of time for them to make arrangements and delivery schedules for an appropriate and agreed upon delivery schedule. It felt like a money game, not good customer service. When I was trying to figure out what had happened and discussing alternatives, such as waiving the delivery fee, Celina told me that they had given me "free" guacamole and chips, but that was because their website had one price on it and they quoted me a more expensive price. I would have taken the discounted price, as an alternative, and provided our own appetizers. There was no real apology or attempt to make it right on Lala's end of things. We were stuck as it was three days before our event, and it seemed like they capitalized on that. The delivery driver, Lawrence, was fantastic and helped to place all of the food in the oven, so it could stay warm until we were ready to serve it. He made it all fit in a single oven. Food Review: Overall, the food was delicious! The guacamole was delicious and fresh. We had plenty of food to spare! The beans lacked flavor, but everything else was so flavorful and we even had enough to make nachos later that night for our second dinner. The carnitas tasted more like a barbacoa, and everyone was in love with it. They sent one bag (think big Tostitos size) of chips for 30 people, so it was a good thing my mom had purchased some chips at the store, or else we would have run out. read more

This is a long overdue review for their taco bar delivery service (July of 2021). I am getting ready to place out second order for another family gathering and realized I forgot to post this review after our last experience. Everything was a breeze!! From ordering to payment and through delivery, they were professional, efficient, prompt, and so very kind! The owner was incredibly responsive and helpful help during the planning/ordering process. She helped us to navigate the menu to select options and portions that would suit vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and carnivore preferences. The food was authentic and DELICIOUS! It was obvious to us that they take great consideration to use fresh, high quality ingredients and to make their recipes from scratch. Our menu included fish, carne asada, carnitas, grilled veggies and a tray of the sweet potatoes and mushrooms (we could not get enough of these! The flavor was incredible!!). The salsa, chipotle crema and guacamole were all exceptional! Not only is the food fabulous, the quantity per person is more than generous...we even had leftovers after feeding about 4 unplanned guests! We texted and called Aron but he never replied or came back with the chips. We also were under the impression that the food came with the warming burners. This is an update from my 10/3/21 review for our 11/6/21 event! We had Lala's cater our 11/6/21 back yard reception for just at 60 people and got the package for 65. It was a huge hit! The onsite team was on time, quick in serving, and everyone enjoyed the tacos and sides! People loved being able to walk up to the cart and "order" what they wanted. We had chicken, carnitas, carne asada, and soyrizo for vegetarians. The only thing I wish we would have done was increase the guac, we should have doubled down on that! Otherwise the quantities were huge and filling, the set up was splendid, and we enjoyed every bite! The carnitas were to die for and the vegetarian soyrizo was also a HUGE hit. So glad we added the chipotle crema, that was one of the first things to go! I definitely recommend them to any person who wants to cater to a large group with fresh hot food! I didn't get a ton of photos, but still, the set up was perfect for the group! Celina and Aron were awesome and their son who helped was super nice. 10/3/21 review: WOW WOW WOW -- We were blown away for our taco tasting for our upcoming private event in November. Throughout this process Aron and Celina have been extremely communicative and we can't wait to have them cater our event. From walking into their showroom to get a feel in person of what they offer and seeing it in the flesh, to having the chance to ask all of our questions, to sitting down and tasting the items, I can't say enough good things. Make sure to add the chipotle crema, holy moly was that amazing!! The price too! Wow! I was a tad worried at first thinking, hmmm you get what you pay for, but we were blown away with the quality and the quantity!
