    Drunken Noodles
    Charlé W.

I was greeted by a friendly person behind the bar when I stepped up to order my drunken noodles with chicken. After you order, they'll hand you one of those buzzers that I associate with chain restaurants. It's super convenient because I was there with someone who'd ordered from another restaurant. This gave me the freedom to sit wherever I wanted inside beautiful St. Roch Market without having to worry about hearing my name. The chicken was moist, the flavor of the noodles was great, and there was a good portion of vegetables/garnish. My only wish is that there was more of that sauce to lap up.

Counter service inside St Rock market. Customer service was lacking, staff on the phone when we approached to order. Food was hit or miss. Would not recommend.

Located in St. Roch Market, Laksa Nola serves very delicious comfort food. I was greeted by Chef Lin who is hands on and very nice! I was hungry and got the Nasi Lemak with kingfish. This was so good! The crispy anchovy and nuts, soft egg, crispy/flaky roti went well with the rich curry and sambal. The different textures and tastes in this meal were an experience. Left happy with a happy tummy! It's unfortunate that I discovered this place on my last day in NOLA. Had I known this earlier, would have come back here multiple times. Highly recommend!

    Shumai dumplings ($10)

We swung by St. Roch Market on a rainy day and ordered some chicken and shrimp shumai ($10). It's freshly steamed and prepared on the spot after you order. The shumai are a little smaller than the size of a ping pong ball each and the plate comes with a set of 6. The sauce under the dumplings is a sweet and salty thick sauce. The sauce provided in the cup is soy sauce-based with finely minced ginger. Garnished with parsley, it's very pleasing to look at. Overall, it was yummy, but nothing phenomenal. Just regular shumai dumplings, but the sauces were flavorful and delicious. I think it's a little overpriced for 6 dumplings, I'd expect maybe $6-8 instead?

Located in St Roch Market, Laksa is one the first Burmese restaurant that I have ever tried. I ordered a few dishes including the Roti Canai, Laksa Bowl and the Omu Noodles. The Laksa Bowl was my favorite and it was very flavorful. I would def come back for this. While taste may vary, I thought that the Omu Noodles were just OK- a bit sweet and sour. The Roti Canal was OK. Service was very fast and the staff kindly brought our food directly to our table, very nice of him. The atmosphere was great, typical of a casual food hall. There's only street parking.

This is ONES PERSONS opinion but this is maybe some of the best dang food I've ever had (Laksa and Nasi Lemak). I'm literally taking some to go on the airplane back home! Maybe I can ask Chef Lin to fly out come cater my wedding . PS... I can't handle spice. Level 1 has me sweating but worth it.

OMG! If I lived near here, I would order from Laksa Nola all the time! I wish I could have tried more if their menu, but my stomach was destroyed from a long weekend of eating and drinking, so we tried the fresh spring rolls. They looked exactly like the photo. They tasted amazing. I will definitely be returning in future trips to try more of their menu.

Rainbow Salad - vegan, Burmese Coconut Soup, Mohinga

Chef Lin and her brother were so warm and nice to us. The mohinga was tasty and hearty. We particularly loved the rainbow salad. The location inside St.Roch market is clean and spotless with high ceilings. A 5-star experience for authentic Burmese food.

A hidden Burmese gem in NOLO Chef Lin Lin opened a Burmese food stall inside St Roch Market food hall in New Orleans. Despite laksa in the name, most dishes are Burmese. She has a few Malaysian dishes and her own creations too (like omu noodles). Her Burmese dishes are authentic and delicious. I didn't get to try other dishes. While you are there, check out her other stall Lin's Kitchen as well.

We ordered the Rainbow salad and lettuce bowl, both with tofu. Flavors were amazing, staff was friendly. It's in a market with other restaurants, so lots of options.

Amazing authentic Burmese taste Cant believe a non Burmese chef made this tea leaf salad This shop made me feel like I am in Myanmar Love the noodles they used for coconut noodles One of the fav restaurants I have found in my New Orleans Vacation Must Go there for Asia taste Favorite part is big portion for foodie like me

Lovely flavors and yummy food! I had the Rainbow Salad with tofu as my protein (non-vegetarian protein options include chicken and shrimp). Their spice level is 0-3. I got 2, which I expected to be medium spicy, but it was definitely more on the mild side. Felt more like a noodle dish than a "salad," and it's a good option over their hot soups considering the warm weather lately! I've also had the Laksa Bowl with chicken (you can also choose shrimp) and rice noodles (egg noodles are your other option). Delicious! And it came with a hefty portion of protein. My only complaint is that the noodles were over boiled and they were soggy/mushy, making them hard to eat with chopsticks. It would've been perfect had they been chewier and not overcooked! One other thing I noticed is that compared to the other vendors at St. Roch Market, Laksa staff doesn't bring you your food. Someone will just yell your name (very) loudly and that will be your cue to go get your dish lol. Looking forward to trying more dishes soon!

    Gross beef curry

We went on a Friday evening around dinner time for take out, so we would have thought it would be the best time to go. Instead we got omu noodles that were okay, if cold, but the chicken tasted old. Got a stomach ache from the meat/eggs, not looking forward to tomorrow. The curry was slightly below passable, but a little gross and oily. The beef also tasted old and was questionable. We could not finish this meal, and threw most of it away after tasting the meat and fearing for our stomachs. We're thankful we didn't risk getting the shrimp or salmon, but it would have probably ended up in the same place. The only thing we were able to finish was the roti, which tasted good, but it is kind of hard to mess up bread. I am not sure how this place got so many 5 star reviews, maybe a weekend night isn't the time to go here. Be aware that this place doesn't really have a kitchen, it is more like food trucks that have opened stalls. So they cook their meat on hot plates and stuff. While the place looks clean/nice, and the location is pretty good, you could find better noodles for a cheaper price at a really great Thai place in walking distance. The service wasn't bad, but they got slow with just a few orders. We don't mean to be mean or negative just because, but wanted to warn someone in case they're hungry and this meal might not work out for them either.

Great food and service! The chef was so nice and gave good vibes. My 4-year old even ate a shrimp egg roll and the flat bread!

Holy Moly Burmese deliciousness. This was my first…read morediscovery of Lahpet and whoa nelly, I've been missing some super great food. Fellow Yelpers, Katie A., Jen L and I treated ourselves to a social distancing dinner party featuring Lahpet. We ordered the Pumpkin curry, Super Green curry and the Burmisiana Shrimp curry. Katie also wanted to try the spicy Papaya salad. Our mouth's exploded with various spices and aromatics as we tried each curry. Everything was simply delicious and we all shared. I'll be honest, the Pumpkin curry with the rice I could eat everyday. everyday I tell you! I literally had one little piece of papaya and my mouth roared at me, but Katie just gobbled it up. We paired it all with the Elderberry Ginger Soda which was very refreshing and would have been very cool with a shot of Gin or Vodka. I'll definitely be watching out for their future pop-ups and you should too!

Then Re said "there's a popup near my house on Sunday, do you want to go?" And started to explain what it was but I already knew! She handled our ordering and good thing she advance ordered because they were sold out when we went to pick up on Sunday. We shared 3 different curries and the papaya salad and delicious elderberry drinks. Wow! The food was great and the 3 curries were all really different. And the shrimp in the Burmisiana tomato curry were tender and yummy. Pickup was super easy. There's a window at Plume (where they will be in residence for a bit I think) where you knock and everything is handed through. Low contact and everything was prepaid for no contact payment. Delicious!
