After hiring NorthCoast for an out-of-state move, the company took custody of our household…read morepossessions and moved them into their "temperature-controlled " storage facility. All of our furnishings, including our Oriental rug, were in excellent condition, clean, and moth-free prior to the move. When our possessions were delivered to our new residence, the rug was infested with live moth larvae and could not be salvaged. Much of our furniture was delivered unwrapped or partially wrapped and showed evidence of moth activity. In addition, we discovered that a number of items that had been placed in NorthCoast's custody were missing from the moving truck. The company owner promised to make us "whole" and advised us to file a claim for damages. Following our submission of all requested documentation, NorthCoast denied our claim, asserting that our furnishings must have had a moth issue prior to the company taking custody of them. The company also relies on the terms of a standard Storage Agreement, which it claims absolves it of all damage to a consumer's property, even when it has taken custody of the property as part of a contract to safely and carefully handle and move the consumer's possessions from one location to another. As for the missing items, NorthCoast never acknowledged our communications regarding the items and completely ignored our requests to search their facility for the missing property. We are out-of-pocket thousands of dollars due to NorthCoast's failure to properly care for and deliver our household possessions.

We have had 2 units for several years and have always had open communication with the manager. We…read morealways pay for our units 2 months at a time and appreciate the property management. We have been thanked by the manager for being such loyal customers. Today we went to the units to put stuff away and our locks were cut off and laying on the ground and their locks were on the doors. I have never been late on any payments or if I forgot to mail it I'd call the manager or she'd call me. I totally missed sending in our payments this time but I usually get a friendly reminder call because their computer program sends me late notices all the time due to their system not being able to process 2 months payments at a time and I've been told to ignore them by the manager. I am going to assume their is a new manager and possibly the friendly customer service, open communication may be lost as with so many businesses these days. You'd think if its a first offense after paying ahead a month for years you'd get a call before they just destroy your locks and forbid you access. I am so disappointed right now in their customer service at this time that I would certainly not recommend this location but hopefully things will change when they open on Monday.

We told them a few times where things were supposed to go, however my husband ended up having to go behind them and move everything again because they put everything in the wrong rooms. They were likely way too high to remember where things go. My entire house and my expensive furniture smelled like weed. When I told them I didn't appreciate them doing my move high as hell. They then proceeded to become very rude and aggressive. I called the office to report their behavior and I was sobbing crying . I had several heavy wood cabinets to move as well as tv, lamps, etc. They were helping me move locally from one apt to another apartment in Lakewood. They were careful with what they moved and extremely fair -priced better than most other movers who quoted me including "college...". The may not wear the uniforms & drive the newer vehicles, but I would trust them again with any small move that may require 2 or 3 loads locally.
