Stopped in yesterday and got a raspberry pie and a "walnut" brownie for myself. I ate the brownie on the drive home. It was dry, hard and contained pecans, not walnuts. Not a big deal for me since I like both walnuts and pecans. But still ... The pie might be the second worst raspberry pie I've purchased (second only to one that never gelled). First, it's salty. EW! It should be sweet and tangy. Heck, my husband wouldn't mind tart. But salty? No. Second, I paid $22 for a pie with what looks and tastes like canned raspberries. The filling if very syrupy, gooey. Either that or they misused ClearJel rather than tapioca or corn starch for thickening. It's so thick, it coats the back of your throat, like you've eaten corn syrup poured over smashed raspberries. It doesn't taste like the appropriate amount of sugar was added to the filling either. It does not taste fresh at all. It tastes like one I could have picked up at the grocery store. As a matter of fact, I think Hannaford's has mini pies that are far better.

The "vineyards" were sad and disheveled, and the apple orchard looked worse very seriously neglected. The apple trees were very old, untended to and rotting, the trails were poorly maintained, the parking was a disorganized, and the grounds looked like nobody was taking care of them. The amount of junk round the building is staggering, not a place you want to buy food or drink from. The "food" is not fresh or made onsite it's just overpriced groceries. We only stayed here because my daughter had been so excited and we had traveled out of our way to get here. We made the best of it, but I could hardly find enough decent apples to fill the bag we had already purchased. Many of the apples had dark, greenish spots all over them: a fungus that you can see my photos. When I asked, "Do you still have pick-your-own?" it was because the trees looked practically empty from where we were standing. Walking through the orchard confirmed that impression: there was very little worth picking. We were there during prime apple season where all other orchards are overflowing with apples; even so we went to the very farthest trees at the back of the orchard; rotten, fungus, and very few trees producing fruit. I should have read past all the drinking reviews to the heart of the matter: unkept place absolutely do not go here. Looking around, the whole place is run-down and neglected. Honestly, I felt sad for the trees and grape vines. This was an overpriced, incredibly disappointing experience. If you're looking for somewhere to drink wine, maybe you'll have a different experience. But for apple picking, I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody. An absolute mess, and I won't be back, it was the worst orchard experience I've ever had.

It was nice to bring my 2 year old and let him run around the farm. The produce was great quality, and organic from what I've read. Sadly, we wasted more than we ate. You pick a lot at one time, and must eat it quick or it goes bad, and being a full time working family, we found it hard to find time to prepare everything. I won't be signing up again next year, It's not the farms fault, but my own. I would like to visit once in awhile next year, and just buy what I need at the moment.

The property is huge and there's so much open space, so it was nice to just wander around and enjoy the scenery. We also got some cider and popcorn and of course had to get the apple cider donuts. We grabbed a chocolate chip cookie from the pie truck too and that was really good. We went early this year so they only had 3 different types of apples available for picking. We picked honey crisp, gala and Jonah Mac. They had a beautiful sunflower farm. The property is so pretty and I loved how they had a fire pit with the Adirondack chairs around it. There was a tap room which had all different types of beverages and ciders. Because now, I realize how lacking all other dairy products are. Seriously. We purchased milk from High Lawn during our stay at a local long-term let with a full kitchen. We brought home milk and ice cream. When that ran out and we returned to our regular 'store bought' milk, I was like 'what am I drinking?' You don't know how good High Lawn Farms milk is, until you don't have it any more. If I lived near here, this is the only place I would get my dairy. Now, the ice cream! So, so, so good! It's not overly sweet. The flavor is just right. Again, not over done. It's 'light'. I don't know how to explain it. I got two scoops and when I saw how much ice cream that was I thought I'd 'never be able to eat all that.' But the ice cream texture is light, not heavy. It's still creamy, but not in the same way as my local farm made ice cream is made. It's light and those two scoops were just the right amount. The store offers more than milk and ice cream by the pint. They also sell a selection of High Lawn farm cheeses and frozen cuts of beef among other things. Besides the store and the ice cream trailer, you can visit the cows and calves in the barn. There are also older calves in the field by the ice cream trailer that you can pet. They come right up to the fence looking for pets. Anyway, you can see I am a fan of High Lawn Farm. Go. Don't think about it. Go. Get the ice cream. Get the milk. Compare it to your 'regular' dairy.
