Got a chance to revisit Bartlett's Orchard again this past weekend and picked up a delicious frozen pesto pizza, a blueberry strudel, hot apple cider and a spinach pastry. Unfortunately they sold out of donuts for the day but as they say, the early bird gets the apple cider donut! Visited the orchard on the very last day and last hour of Apple picking weekend! There were plenty of Ida red and Jona golds left and a few McIntosh! Opted for a medium sized bag which held a decent number of apples. Definitely worth the visit! Can't wait to be back next year :) read more

Very cute little grocery store! The Apple cider donuts here are amazingly soft moist and flavored! The Apple cider here is some of the best I've had! Rick Bartlett happened to be there when we were leaving. I believe he is the grandson of the man that opened this delicious ass orchard. I usually go upstate NY but these apples are juicy. The Macintosh, the gala, the idea red, granny Smith, every darn apple was better than the next. Also went to the their store bought maple syrup and warm cider. The best damn cider this side of the Mississippi! It wasn't too sweet and had a nice tart taste. The apple doughnuts were warm and crispy! Simply delicious! read more

Was in the Berkshires and read this was "the best cider donut around." While it was ok, I've had better. Wasn't worth the extra drive.

6 - Stars because... Everything that's homemade is second to none. Because their pastries are a taste of the Berkshires and better and fresher than everyone's I've tried... Anywhere! Because as we contemplate where we want to spend the hot months of the year while living in Florida for the cooler months, they make the Berkshires extremely hard to second guess. Because the people are SO friendly and it's not forced. Because Apple Strudel, because Apple turnover, because Cinnamon Twists that I can't get enough of. Because of their homemade salad dressings in flavors I've never thought of but can't wait to try. Because they take the time to talk to you without making you feel like you're keeping them from doing something more important. 6 stars because this was my 6th visit here in the 6 years that I've been married to my wife who is Berkshire, MA born and raised and I didn't really care much for Massachusetts until I visited Bartlett's. Because in a world full of change, Bartlett's is consistently consistent and I just love being in this place because of the food, the aromas and especially the family of family friendly people. We all know that Bartlett's has the best apple everything but *news flash* they also have many varieties of some truly killer peppers! I grabbed an assortment recently for my boyfriend to experiment with and we wound up making two chile relleno style stuffed poblanos and a mix of bells, hot banana, etc. in a Spanish style rice. Bartlett's has the best cider donuts in the region. Golden Harvest over in Valatie has nice ones but I like Bartlett's better. The spicing Is assertive and nicely balanced . The Bartlett's texture is more cake-like and less stretchy than some commercial products. I cannot describe the Golden Harvest texture accurately - sorry - but it is distinctly different from Bartlett's. They offer other sweet treats as well but frankly who cares when cider donuts are available? Oh... by the way, they have pick-your-own apples in season and in most summers they offer other produce as well . They also sell an eclectic mix of food items that seem to focus on local sources. You can get a sandwich as well. This is not a reliable place to get dinner supplies but it might be feasible to outfit a picnic . Kind of out in the middle of nowhere (but then again, so are most of the places out in The Berkshires). Came here with my mother a few months ago, right at the peak of apple harvesting season. We stopped here on our way home to NY and are so glad we did! We picked up an apple cider donut, a cinnamon twist, and, from the suggestion of the pleasant guy behind the counter, a cinnamon roll. You gotta go a little early so the donuts are fresh - just a little crispy on the outside and warm. Bartlett's has all sorts of goodies that you'd want to find at an orchard. They've got bags of apples, freshly ground nut butters, jams, cider, baked goods, hot drinks, and old fashioned candy. I'm pretty sure they offer apple picking but to be honest I usually go for the cider donuts. They're extremely cheap and extremely tasty. I think you can get a dozen for something like 3 bucks. Certainly not the most healthful breakfast but PERFECT for a post-sleepover wakeup. If you can resist scarfing your meal, drive back towards Lenox and enjoy your meal at Olivia's Outlook with a breathtaking view of the Tanglewood Bowl. Picked up an apple pie the other day. What a disappointment! The flavoring was nice but we couldn't get past the "raw" apples. The filing was so hard and chewy that our family couldn't even enjoy it.
