Good service. Food was fresh and tasty. I will go again. The restaurant was clean and roomy

Smash burger $10.

Parking is terrible, not much parking. Waitress was super rude. Smash burger special $10 comes with no sides at all (photo attached) and is super thin, they kept on smashing! Avoid the smash burger! Baked potato on the side was $4.50 (cheese extra $1.50, bacon extra $1.50, sour cream extra $1.25. So basically $10 for a potato! Avoid this place if you can. Much better food at other places.

Great cheeseburger and baked potato. Also tried the fried pickles and they were delicious- lightly breaded and with a nice dipping sauce. The burger is huge and it's cooked to perfection. Added bacon and cheddar. It's a good 1/2 pound, so you'll leave full. Atmosphere is good, very casual. If you're looking for a great burger, add this to your just visit places.

Super friendly and accommodating staff and servers. Food is not something I would come back for, however. This is a great place for a big group to come and hangout. I would only return if there was an event there with friends, not for the food.

They charge several dollars for all additions like cheese jalapeños etc and every time I've been there something is missing. Scammy.

(My old shotgun apartment was sold and torn down to make way for another high-rise Tower that was never built and now there's a big grassy field where my place used to be). My memory is that Russell started with more conventional diner menu, but his since specialized in a New Orleans way. A large variety of egg benedict options now headlines the menu. There are also some creative omelets, including one with fried oysters and remoulade sauce. I was going to get one of those but I kept seeing these delightful fluffy looking pancakes coming out of the kitchen. I opted instead for a short stack and a breakfast sandwich. The pancakes were perfect, tasting is good as they looked. The breakfast sandwich was on grilled bread like a panini with egg and bacon. Tasty. Hash browns or small nuggets of potato, not the best but preferable to the shredded potato hash browns at say Waffle House. Coffee with hot fresh and refilled frequently. Sitting at the bar, I was across from the fresh orange juice station. After staring at a pitcher of fresh weezed orange juice as I ate, I had to get some. That was great, and the generous portion wasn't served in a thimble-sized glass. The atmosphere is loud and convivial. On a Saturday morning is mostly locals. Special mention for the friendly service. The wait staff work together and seem like long timers. They recognize the number of customers as regulars as they came in. That's the kind of atmosphere you can't make up or buy from Sysco. Five stars, because diners like this are getting harder to find in Russell's distinguishes itself with some truly unique dishes.

I love their fried chicken sandwich and their pancakes are on steroids - super girthy. Parking is off street. I didn't see an elevator or anything to get up the stairs in case you have someone that can't walk up them. There is a bathroom upstairs and downstairs. The stars had aligned in such a way that I knew it had to be. The location is on the corner, and you could drive right past it if you didn't know what you're looking for (and I didn't, so trust me for that!). When you walk in, there's a bar seating area, as well as some seating on the main level, and then there's a loft type level with more seating available. I'm glad I was there on a random weekday, as I feel that the line to get in could probably get long on the weekend. Service was prompt, drinks were replenished as needed, and the chicken and waffles were just as I had dreamed they would be. Now, I know that not everyone loves chicken and waffles, but fret not, as they have all kinds of other breakfast options for you to enjoy. Your visit will not be in vain!

I gave Toast another chance after a previous visit, but this experience was just as disappointing…read more I came in after a long shift and specifically asked my server to make sure the French toast wasn't hard, since that had been an issue before. He acknowledged the request, but when the food came out, the French toast was still hard and overcooked. When I tried to explain the issue, the server argued with me and insisted that's how it's made because of the brown sugar. That didn't make sense, especially since I've had their French toast before and it wasn't like that. I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable just properly cooked French toast. Being argued with instead of helped made the experience worse. At this point, it feels like consistency and customer service are ongoing issues.
