Lakeside Lodge Clemson is pretty but we were disappointed with a few things. We had seen the map that showed a little football field, prior to booking, that showed yard markings and an end zone but that ended up being just a grassy area with no such markings. My son had been looking forward to this and it definitely was a bummer for him (and us). The pocket doors in the bathroom will close super fast so watch your fingers. Someone had obviously gotten theirs caught before us because there was blood smeared on the side of the door. Gross. The walls are soooooo thin and apparently have zero insulation. The people next door to us were not being overly loud but we could hear every word of their conversation. It made going to sleep not particularly easy. Thank goodness they weren't having some adult time over there because that would have been super awkward. If you don't want to hear trains frequently, this is not the place for you. There is a train track right across the street and you will hear multiple trains day and night. The water pressure in the shower was pitiful. If I had needed to wash my long hair, I would have been better off using the sink. Would definitely not stay here again.

I'm going go ahead and give them five star review because it was a great fit for me and my young family. The room was nice and spacious. It felt like a new construction home, big kitchen, huge bathroom, big shower, comfortable beds, lots of space. The place is super easy to come and go when you're unloading strollers and play pens etc. We stayed here when we visited Lake Keowee, so worked well. Note to mgmt...I'm not sure if it was because they were new, or because of COVID-19, but some of the service could definitely be improved. Example we did not know that there was no breakfast available, that there is no room service at all, etc. Very limited staff but they just opened so going to give them a pass. He compared to a major hotel chains, I do think the staff may need some hospitality training, greetings, check in process. I would also love to see the walkway to the dock get finished. However if you just make a couple operational tweaks I do believe this place would be headed towards five star in terms of enjoyment, flexibility, and location. Note this is definitely not a five-star hotel, but I'll give them five stars on yelp.

I was in town with a family member for an event just one evening- found this what appeared to be a gem and was excited for our stay. Upon arriving, the frustration started with locating our room. My family member has limited mobility and can't walk long distances- there's one elevator in building 1 and beyond that the walking is lengthy. The front desk told us wrong directions and was difficult to locate room correctly. Next, the bathroom had hairs on the "clean" towels, nothing has been dusted in what appears to be along time especially in the bedroom and there was dried spilled coffee all over the bottom kitchen cabinets and coffee grounds on the floors. Outlets don't work in living room, and let's not get started about the 5am train that woke us up loudly. The room adjoins to an unknown neighbor and clearly they didn't know their inside voices were like at a concert when you can't hear yourself speak. This is a "resort", why close the hot tub shortly after 6pm?! Informed the front desk of concerns, waiting for a call back to see about compensation - I hate to complain, I'm in the service industry myself and couldn't believe these things especially in hospitality. The units are individually owned- this owner needs to see their unit because housekeeping doesn't keep up the appearance of their investment. Unfortunately won't stay here again- hopefully getting my money back for the evening stay.

The complementary breakfast was well done and well kept. It offered sausage, bacon, eggs, and biscuits with meat gravy in addition to the waffles, toast, juice, etc. The elevator is desperately in need of maintenance. It makes loud noises which sound like broken wheels are likely to come off every time it moves. The hallways have video monitors everywhere. No privacy here at all. Smile! You are on Candid Camera. The bathroom was clean with ample large fluffy towels and nice shower. It did not have a urinal for men to pee standing up, nor a bidet for personal cleanliness. The bed was a little sagging in the center so my back hurt every morning when I got up. The TV remote quit working late on my last night there. Maybe the batteries died. I got up and walked over to turn it off. The ice machine was to small or not working well. It ran out of ice when I wanted a cold drink on more than one evening. Their staff was polite and helpful. This place is barefoot friendly.

Rude.. rude.. rude! Went through priceline to get a good late night hotel and this was an option,…read moreso I chose this since it is a hotel I'm familiar with in past experiences. When I went in to check in, the doors were locked and the front desk guy (Elijah, well what he said his name was but didn't have a name tag to confirm it) was sleeping on the couch in the lobby with a pillow and blanket. I understand this is a hotel, a place to stay comfortably when you're away from home, but on the job? Come on! So that was my strike one. Went to check in after the front desk got his nap in and was told I had to pay an extra $10 fee for having a third person in my 2 double bed room. I asked to see where I could see the terms and conditions for this unexpected fee and he said he didn't have one. According to the priceline site that after the purchase is made, the price cannot be modified. The front desk then told me that it was the owner's rules that they are required to charge an additional $10.00 per person after the 2nd guest. So this was my strike 2... Making me pay an additional fee that he couldn't even provide proof of written terms or conditions but only a verbal rule that anyone could just make up! That's like telling guests that they need to pay $5 more for toilet paper after the 1st roll. Unbelievable! The front desk then just gave us the room number and key because it started becoming very repetitive. As we went to the room assigned to us, the keys did not work! I just thought in my head, 'You must be kidding me!!' Already irritated of the situation I thought this guy is trying to tick us off! Went back down 3 flights of stairs to find out that he gave us the wrong room number!!! Strike 3!! I absolutely hated this experience and wish I saw the previous reviews for this place before staying here! Save yourself the troubled experience and money and just go somewhere else. Not worth it!

SO, you buy a 'house on a lake,' for under $200,000.00 but an additional $350,000 is needed for the 50 year land lease (MORE WITH INCREASES). NO Offense to the developers, but it's INSANE TO Try and sell these units once you buy it, as the LAND LEASE goes up with resales. NOW, who wants to pay that kind of committment for 50 years, then it's renewed after that for 50 more in the $1,000's a month range, for the LAND LEASE. THIS IS BESIDES The cost of the house. I bought in when the land lease was under $300 and sold when it hit over $500, realizing the committment I HAD SIGNED On the purchase agreement. IT's like unto LEGAL FRAUD really, as they don't TELL YOU THE FULL AMOUNT of the contract, only the sale price of the house, and the 3% annual increase, ETERNAL. THAT SUCKS. I don't care for it, and the homes are nice, but not worth THAT KIND OF MONEY OR COMMITTMENT. THESE Philadephia developers need to be shown the way back home to Pa. Besides, they try to grind you for $20,000 on furniture supposedly at 10% above cost, (YEAH RIGHT), but it's a CASH COW FOR THEM, and he even admitted it to me; that's when I decided to RUN AWAY, and get a lake house without a 50 year 3% annual increase committment on A LAND LEASE...A Terrible deal you should NOT BUY INTO.. THANKS FOR LISTENING, I hope I helped.
