I stayed several days at the Best Western in Seneca, SC. My room was clean and pleasant. There was a constant noise from a fan in the bathroom, and a throbbing from perhaps an AC on the roof, so it wasn't really ever quiet. The room AC worked well. The Wi-fi and TV worked well. The complementary breakfast was well done and well kept. It offered sausage, bacon, eggs, and biscuits with meat gravy in addition to the waffles, toast, juice, etc. The elevator is desperately in need of maintenance. It makes loud noises which sound like broken wheels are likely to come off every time it moves. The hallways have video monitors everywhere. No privacy here at all. Smile! You are on Candid Camera. The bathroom was clean with ample large fluffy towels and nice shower. It did not have a urinal for men to pee standing up, nor a bidet for personal cleanliness. The bed was a little sagging in the center so my back hurt every morning when I got up. The TV remote quit working late on my last night there. Maybe the batteries died. I got up and walked over to turn it off. The ice machine was to small or not working well. It ran out of ice when I wanted a cold drink on more than one evening. Their staff was polite and helpful. Rude.. rude.. rude! Went through priceline to get a good late night hotel and this was an option, so I chose this since it is a hotel I'm familiar with in past experiences. When I went in to check in, the doors were locked and the front desk guy (Elijah, well what he said his name was but didn't have a name tag to confirm it) was sleeping on the couch in the lobby with a pillow and blanket. I understand this is a hotel, a place to stay comfortably when you're away from home, but on the job? Come on! So that was my strike one. Went to check in after the front desk got his nap in and was told I had to pay an extra $10 fee for having a third person in my 2 double bed room. I asked to see where I could see the terms and conditions for this unexpected fee and he said he didn't have one. According to the priceline site that after the purchase is made, the price cannot be modified. The front desk then told me that it was the owner's rules that they are required to charge an additional $10.00 per person after the 2nd guest. So this was my strike 2... Making me pay an additional fee that he couldn't even provide proof of written terms or conditions but only a verbal rule that anyone could just make up! That's like telling guests that they need to pay $5 more for toilet paper after the 1st roll. Unbelievable! The front desk then just gave us the room number and key because it started becoming very repetitive. As we went to the room assigned to us, the keys did not work! I just thought in my head, 'You must be kidding me!!' Already irritated of the situation I thought this guy is trying to tick us off! Went back down 3 flights of stairs to find out that he gave us the wrong room number!!! Strike 3!! I absolutely hated this experience and wish I saw the previous reviews for this place before staying here! Save yourself the troubled experience and money and just go somewhere else. I thought I would review this hotel since it's one of the few in this area. Located within a couple miles of the Keowee Marina, this is a good spot to stay if you are doing some boating on Keowee. I happened to be running the poker run and we just needed a place to crash for the night and we were storing the boat in a slip for the night, so took the car and trailer back to the hotel. It fit the bill, there is plenty of parking behind the hotel for a trailer (not sure how full the hotel was, this may have helped). Did not try the pool but it looked like it had sun most of the mid morning and probably was decent to try. The breakfast is OK, it's certainly not gourmet but it's a good free option. The beds are super soft, almost too soft for my liking. The décor is a bit odd, but, for sub 80$ a night it fits the bill. If was in the area again I might try the other hotel up the road, as it looks newer, but if I was just to stay a night, no harm no foul. read more

We booked this hotel through the BW app. The room was great, the staff was super friendly and helpful, the breakfast area was well stocked and well attended, the room was clean and the location was perfect for our needs with the lakes and hiking trails close by. we would stay here again if in the area. read more

About 10 minutes away from Clemson University this Best Western is pretty convenient (and cheaper) location than some of the hotels closer to Clemson. Overall the two nights we stayed here weren't remarkable. However we would've liked the hotel to be cleaner for the price. The air conditioner smelled like mold every time the fan was on, the floors were a bit questionable, and there a couple small stains on some of the laundry. Also, the windows didn't have screens in them so you couldn't leave them open without something unwanted possibly coming in. The continental breakfast as pretty uninspiring, the Holiday Inn Express down the road had a much more impressive spread. Some nice surprises included one of the more comfortable beds I've come across in a cheaper hotel and a HUGE bathroom (at least in our handicapped accessible room). read more

I stayed here about 14 days ago, and I thought it was a nice looking hotel. But when we got there we went upstairs and noticed a guy checking the walls and he was walking in front of us and stopped like he wanted to do someone by the AC unit and I looked down and there was a whole roach just running in full speed. And he had to of seen us watching and instead of killing it he just walks away. Like he looked like a manager. What are you doing. This is so gross Then later that day it came out again and we killed it and, this was on maybe a Thursday, the dead body stayed there almost all weekend. How nasty, right in the open just a huge ass cockroach. THen. They tried saying one of crew members who were in another room made 400$ worth of room damages s that they had people cleaning in there for over 4 hours . And we asked what happened. And they said that the room was now not able to be sold. And that hair dye was all over the walls the drains of the tub and soaked through the mattress. And we had to stay at the same hotel again that same day we checked out and they said the damage happened and they put us right by the room that was supposed to be "damaged" and they had some one checked in it already. Then the next morning they maids had the door open and I went in there and the room was perfectly fine. No stains anywhere. They are just trying to take your money, be careful here And if you're gonna take my company's money at least don't let the room open so I can see that you're lying !? Oh one thing. The raccoon outside was nice. read more

I had the best/fastest check in experience ever at this hotel. I had been on the road for three hours and was pleasantly surprised with how prepared they were for my arrival. I was in my room 90 seconds later! The hotel is OK. Room was large and staff was nice. Breakfast options were a bit bland, but it was complimentary. Overall experience was good. read more

This had to have been the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The service, experience, and hotel itself was so incredibly awful that it has taken me several hours to absorb the experience and write a review. The hotel was sub-par by itself. The service and experience was what was especially awful. Dealing with the rude and demeaning employees was such a tumultuous task. Never have I ever been treated so poorly. The hotel made me feel as if I was an inconvenience to their shabby, cheap, sketch hotel. I don't care if this is the last option; do not stay here. S/o to Kevin though. We stayed on Friday night for the parade and left Saturday morning. The staff were great, the breakfast was good, and the rooms were very comfortable. When I checked my bank account, I had the same charge on my account twice. I called the hotel and was told a general manager would call me back by Monday. It's Wednesday at 11pm and no phone call. I just want a follow up to let me know the mistake has been rectified. This is very poor management. We were looking forward to staying here for Clemson home games. Now I don't trust them. read more
