I cannot even begin to tell you the amount of compliments I received on my wedding dress and I felt absolutely beautiful in it the whole day. When I first contacted The Sewing Shop, I had already been in contact with several other shops that were too busy to take on my requested services. My phone call was excellent with such friendly demeanor, and all three of my visits were fun and enjoyable. I had no idea my dress needed as much work as it did and they still took on the project even after I misled them saying I only needed a slight alteration. The cost of the alterations were a bit too expensive but you are paying for the quality of work and years worth of experience from this husband and wife couple! The only thing that happened with my dress was that the bustle kept breaking buttons off the back of my dress but I believe this was entirely tied to how heavy my train was and how much jumping around dancing I was doing. The bustle before some buttons snapped was perfectly placed and the perfect length for me to walk around comfortably!

Good laundromat. Been here several times…read more The machines work fine. Have only ever seen one or two at most that are not in operation. For washing machines, there are several options: 20lbs, 30lbs, 40lbs, 60lbs, and 80lbs. The machines have 9 different modes with various temperatures. Washers and dryers all have card readers, which is nice . It is 24 hours a day, and there is a counter and people who work here, however it is not manned 24 hours. The lady I've interacted with has been very helpful. The first time I came I was trying to figure out how to set up the dryer and she came over and explained it to me. And I've seen her assist many others as well. There are two vending machines, one with snacks and one with drinks. There are two TVs with cable, one in each end of the facility. And the place is stocked with one public bathroom. The place isn't always super clean, especially the floors. Trash bins have been full or near full most of the time when I come here. But they do clean, they just can't keep up with the demands. It does get really busy and quite crowded on weekends, something to keep in mind. I would show up around 0700 or 08 at the latest to avoid the crowd. During the week it's much slower.

It's not that hard to label your machines with correct prices. Staff member was rude and tried to make it seem like it was my fault, and then she started breaking down and crying after I said she was being deceptive (which I felt horrible about; I was trying my best to be respectful while still expressing my valid concern and dissatisfaction). Owner did come in to the store and refunded me a few minutes later which I appreciated. Other than that, the place was okay. Machines were available.

Well, every employee is overstressed, embarrassed to the point that they regularly talk about about their pay, their politics, all while arguing about weather their dogs should be able to be inside the business during open hours. The parking lot speaks volumes, even before you enter the space. Dirty, weeds everywhere. Today I had two loads of laundry, watched customers with dirt covered bins use the carts from inside to get them inside, only to take my laundry out of the washers to find that there was not a single working dryer to use as they had all been labeled employee dryers (obviously they care about only the fluff and fold service) and all others were broken. It may be the only place to do laundry in Bridgton, but I'd recommend you wash your clothes in the sink rather than go anywhere near this hell hole. Every experience here has been negative. Avoid at all costs. Sincerely, a local.
