We stopped in as we were in the area and hungry. We were quite disappointed with the wait and the food. We got there about 90 minutes before closing. We had to wait 30 minutes for a table. The restaurant was not busy at all We had to wait extremely long for our food. There was another table that was seated, served after us and was able to leave before our food was presented to us. My husband orders his sandwich lightly toasted and the bread was rock hard. It had to be remade and it took longer to come back out. Our server made the excuse that the other party had a much simpler order. The TVs had soccer game on them and we could hear the cooks cheering from the kitchen when a goal being scored. Two of the three meals we ordered were inedible. Two were breakfast and the third meal was the salad bar - no screwing that up. I asked the person who seated us to describe the gravy that came with the biscuits and gravy. His words, "It's a country sausage gravy filled with chunks of sausage." I ordered that meal with hash browns extra crispy, eggs OM and bacon. I wish I had taken a pic. The gravy had ZERO meat in it and was thin, flavorless liquid you could see through. It just ran off the biscuits and puddled on the plate. The hash browns were almost raw inside and the eggs and yolks were cooked hard (with some gelatinous stuff in the white) and dumped in a weird pile on the plate, no effort was made to even make them look like two eggs on a plate. I did eat the bacon. When I paid for the meal, I looked the guy straight in the eye and asked, "You've never actually had the B&G here have you? Next time someone asks about the gravy, don't lie to them." I would go on to describe the steak and eggs one of us ordered, but I don't have that kind of time. He just put it in a to go box for his dog. Oh yeah, forgot to mention, the coffee was burnt and easily in the top 3 worst coffees I've ever had in a restaurant. Service today was horrible but not always. Young Boy at register had a little lazy Gen Z attitude irritated by me asking for a dipping sauce. I had to pay 1.08 for a teaspoon of ranch. Took him longer to find the button to even charge me for the ranch then it would've for him to run his little lazy self back to the back and retrieve one Ranch was not included with my order of double bacon cheeseburger and fries that cost me 14$ drink not even included, sheesh. Very disappointed at Lakeside Cafe tonight We were seated and got our drinks they were out of our usual so we substituted for something else .Then we ordered 2 French Dips and they don't have sweet potato fries anymore so it was there regular fries ok here comes our order and the au jus looks like tea and no taste to it at all. Waiter came by and we said have you ever seen au jus that looked like this he looks and said no that's not right so he made it right. Now the bread they used for this French Dip should have been a hogue bun but no it was an Italian bun and fell apart as soon as you picked it up. Kimmy was my waitress and she made dinner experience 5-stars . It was my first time here, as I was just driving to pick something up in Pahrump and wanted a quick bite before driving back to Las Vegas. I ordered the fish and chips, which was very good. The batter was on the more doughy side as opposed to thin and crispy, but still good - think corn dog, except over cod fish. The fish was very moist. The side of fries that came with it was AMAZING. Their fries have a bit of laciness to it, making them extra crispy on the outside. I also ordered the prime rib, which was more like 4 stars, but for $22 it was a good deal. I got it in medium rare, and my main suggestion is to let them know to bring it out whenever it's ready so the kitchen doesn't cut it early while you finding out appetizers). There were two hostesses and they said a cook had called in sick and although the dining room was almost empty we were told it was a 30 to 40 minute wait to be seated. I don't know who manages the restaurant, but it isn't working. I doubt we'll be back. read more

Came here because we happened to be near the Lakeside.....The best and only truly positive thing I can say is that our waitresses Katie was beyond excellent. Great attitude, attentive , and totally covered for the shortfalls of the kitchen. I ordered the fish and chips and it looked totally burnt. When it was done over it looked slightly better but was told by someone they were told the kitchen hasn't changed the oil and this was the reason it looked burnt. At about 5:15pm on 9/4/25 I went to the cafe at Lakeside, after standing at the counter for about 5 minutes I was told that there was only one server, so I asked if I could be seated at a booth and that a wait for service would be fine. No I could not be seated, I would have to wait (for what?). I'm in my mid 70's I really do not need to stand and wait to be seated because your organization can not seem to run smoothly. I was told that I could sit in one of the side seats to wait, and I told him I could go sit in another restaurant. Denise A. told me she'd give me another pie in exchange for the one I received from the day before which looked like someone took a bite out of an already tiny piece of a chocolate cream pie for $4 ... If pieces came off, they weren't put in the container. I have pics but it won't load. I just wanted my money back. I was willing to return another day because the manager wasn't available to process the transaction, although I called the day before. We've eaten at Lakeside three times and have not had a satisfactory meal there yet. First off the place is near empty and there's usually always a prolonged wait. There excuse is always there short staff. The atmosphere always looks like we're in a constant state of construction but this was over a period a a few months. The food- less than mediocre diner food. Hamburger wasn't anything to remember. Fried chicken out out the Swanson's box. Dry and mostly breading. Last of all service was poor. Waited long times for food and for drink refills. But I'm sure for those who stay in the park there that it's convenient but not really worth walking across the steeet for. read more

I visit this Cafe often as a local. The food is really good and prices are reasonable. It's the service. There are times I have to stand and wait for someone to seat me. Sometimes up to 8 minutes with only maybe 10 customers, the Cafe isn't busy. I am 100% disabled and can walk but a lot of pain and short of breath. Seating is to alternate from the server in far back to the server up front. They will make me walk extra distance to the far back instead of seating as close as possible. We aren't talking when the restaurant has limited seating available. Happens when there is hardly no customers with lots of open places up front to be seated at. I believe this to be a violation of ADA so I am filing a complaint to help other disabled people from being treated this way. Finally is the food servers attitude. Today I requested ice water with lemon. When the water was brought out I asked for lemon and the server snap back at me saying I did not ask for lemon which I always do. Argument issued and I talked to the manager. I told him I don't like being called a liar. All the server had to say was sorry didn't hear you I will get the lemon now. So if you go to the Cafe expect to wait for seating even though the restaurant will be empty and expect the servers to be rude. Otherwise the food is tasty. When we first started going we really enjoyed it. Lately it has been terrible. My husband ordered the prime rib. He also had it a year ago. A year ago it was tender and flavorful and everything you would want in a prime rib. He did so again recently and it was tough and stringy and terrible. We went in a week ago and waited about 20 minutes for anyone to even notice we were there. We left. We went last night and were seated rather timely but then waited about 15 minutes for the server to even come get our drink orders. After another wait for our drinks and to have our order taken it was at least 45 minutes for our food. The food was decent but not worth the wait. We do not intend to return. Decent atmosphere, but a little bit smoky because the casino is open to the cafe (but not unbearable). I got the Breakfast Burger with fries. The fries are double fried and perfectly crispy! The breakfast burger was good, even though they forgot the bacon (I did end up getting the bacon). Hubby had the Gilroy pizza with white garlic sauce. He said it was good, but he didn't taste much of the white garlic sauce. He gave me a tip off the 'pointy' end of a slice but I didn't eat it because the crust was just barely done. It probably would have been perfect if they had kept it in the oven for another 5-10 min. Overall, I would say 3.5-4 stars. We will go back. read more

Tonight it was a toss up between Terrible Road house or Lakeside Cafe for dinner. My wife ordered the pizza, she says it was very good. I ordered the Salmon dinner. The Salmon, cooked on a grill was bad, very fishy, flavor of 'out too long a time before cooking. The seasonal veggies were a two day old pile of shriveled up corn, a part of a mushy red bell pepper, one shriveled up slice of yellow zucchini about 3/4 " in diameter, the poor other sliced shriveled up green zucchini was about 1/2 in diameter. The scoop of mashed potatoes and gravy was about two bites. Over all one of the worst meals from Lakeside Cafe, ever. However on the way out I mentioned lightly my disappointment in dinner. The young lady at the cashiers station asked a few questions, adjusted the cost of our meal accordingly. I didn't expect this level of service tonight. Meal date 7/18/2022, check number 1059331 for two dinners that totaled $42.00. Destynee shook out the bugs, patched up the errors and fixed this mess and we left happy and satisfied by the outcome. The food is good, the hosts are polite. I have never eaten inside and have only gotten take out. My one complaint is the fact that sometimes when I order take out they will take a whole hour to get my Ceasar Salad out to me. This waiting an hour for my food to come out happens 4 out of 5 times. I almost think it's a ploy by the casino to get people like me waiting on their food to wait long enough we spend money on the slots. read more
