I get a fair amount of their gift cards from my online activity, so I don't directly pay for what I get here. The staff are friendly and helpful and don't pester you as you wander the store. I love being able to peruse without pressure. I found unique mounting foundations to hot glue my piece on -- tin that was created with a deep wave which i spray painted in black with a ramie hanger. 50 cent pieces of thick wonderful felt, a huge selection throughout the store of fine scissors, Joanne brand hot glue gun at an excellent price performing perfectly. I also fell in love with their carefully thought out selections of BEAUTIFUL delicate naturally colored artificial flowers, holiday decorations to craft, hang, their artist supplies to draw paint, and of course their great selection of textiles. My 92-year-old " speedy gonzalez" mom in San Diego gifted me her beautiful sewing machine..... so of course i am SERIOUSLY considering taking sewing courses here! Enjoy!

This store is rather large and has a surprising amount of space devoted to things that are not cards. I scoffed at this "gift shop" until I found Xmas presents for both of my parents and one of my cousins when purchasing holiday cards in Nov. Got me! In addition to cards they carry stationary, wrapping paper and accoutrement, seasonal and collectible ornaments, books, CDS and DVDs, toys, knick-knacks and decorations, purses, scarves, jewelry and lotions, candles, candy, kitchen gadgets, and more. Three things I especially like about Hallmark products: the wrapping paper is very good quality and has cut guides on the inside, every holiday season (or perhaps all the time?) they carry cards that benefit charities such as Unicef, and they have a section of 99 cent cards, which is great since greeting cards are like the most overpriced consumer good out there. The service at this location is pretty friendly. There's a big parking lot because it's in a shopping center. Also on the 80 and 64 bus lines. I bought sweet pink carnation bouquets for my 4 Daughters and a fun DIY project to do with my Granddaughters (decorating heart shaped boxes with doilies and stickers) a lovely print for my wall and some chocolate hearts to share. I recommend Gardenhouse for a comfortable place to select beautiful items for your home or as gifts, prices are great and detail to what you want or need is extraordinary. I also look forward to Spring at the Gardenhouse as garden is its first name and Charlie knows so much about planting and soil, she is my GO-TO person!!

As I was literally…read morepulling out my money to pay, the seller (yellow and red hair, lots of glitter on her face) suddenly said, "Oops, they're actually $300." I asked if they would honor the price I had been quoted, especially since I had already made the decision to buy based on that amount. They refused. Whether it was a genuine mistake or not, changing the price by 50% at the point of sale and refusing to honor the quoted price is incredibly unprofessional. It left a very poor impression I walked away without making a purchase. I understand that mistakes happen, but if you quote someone a price you should keep your word and honor it, even if it means losing a few bucks. A friend even tried to remind them of their quote on the final day or the con as they were not sold and they told her no as well. If you're shopping here, I recommend confirming the final price before getting attached to anything. I couldn't stop thinking about these earrings all weekend. I would have never gotten my hopes up if I heard $300 to start with.
