Beware. This is not an urgent care. You will get a bill for hundreds of dollars months later as they will bill it as an Outpatient hospital visit. Clearly on their website they "claim" to be an urgent care but will bill the visit as a hospital visit. Do not visit any Houston Healthcare's so called Urgent Care Clinics unless you want to pay hundreds of dollars. I called to dispute this with the billing office and got no where. THIS IS NOT AN URGENT CARE. - PLEASE READ TO SAVE YOU HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS! Despite being labeled as such, it operates as an 'outpatient urgent care', leading to hospital-level charges. The billing department's lack of clarity and evasive responses left me frustrated. Attempting to understand their justification for hospital-level fees, I was met with ambiguity, emphasizing that, despite offering urgent care services, Med-Stops are not classified as an urgent care. Avoid Houston Care Medical altogether, they're unprofessional, deceitful, and don't care about their patients at all. This tiny building does not offer anything other than urgent care services not hospital level treatment. We were not charged a co-pay upon arrival as it was "late and they were shutting down the computers". Mind you it was only 7pm and they close at 9pm. Went for a Covid/flu test and later was billed as if I were dying in a hospital. What a joke. read more

My daughter came in today with a persistent fever. They ran the normal tests;flu and strep. Then went further after both were negative by issuing a urine sample. There we figured out she had a UTI. They saw glucose in the urine so they sent us to the ER. I'm thankful they checked her out Thoroughly. The whole staff was amazing from the service recieved at the front desk to the nurse practitioners. Well done! Edit* after coming to the ER, The doctor said " why did they send you here?" All they needed to do was send you a prescription. $579.00 it is going to cost us to be seen at this ER for NOTHING and that is AFTER insurance pays its part!!! Shame on you MED STOP. I almost chose to go somewhere else based on the reviews and I am glad I did not. Everyone was really nice and it looks like they have recently remodeled. We are military so we were glad to find out that they accept Tricare. For those that rely on reviews like we do, I recommend going to Lake Joy Med-Stop for your urgent care needs. read more

Doctor Cunningham is a rude doctor that will cut you off in the middle of your sentence and half ass look at you. He sent out my wrong results for COVID-19 to get tested and it took calling 8 times to just figure that out. So now instead of waiting 3-4 days for my results I have to wait 6-8 which means 6-8 days I can't work. The nurse in the back were very nice and probably the only reason this joke of a med stop is open. I wouldn't recommend this place to take a cockroach if it was sick. DON'T GO HERE read more

After being exposed to the covid virus I was told to go for a test ( I was coughing and had a headache and a lots of drainage) went into this place and was initially treated ok, but this woman (don't know if she was a nurse or what) told me to buy a kit at a store and test myself at home. Then asked if I was vaccinated and when I said no, she went on to lecture me and tell me how many people she has watched die because of this. She didn't even ask me if there was a reason( I have a medical reason) I cannot get the vaccine. I don't need to be lectured when I have a trusted physician that has told me not to get it. Ashley Norman is the probably the nicest person I've ever encountered in a ER, QuickCare, Hopstial, etc. She was so friendly, attentive, understanding, and listened to everything we had to say. I would go back just for her! All the staff were very nice; from checking in, getting initially checked, X-rays etc. My husband and I went for two different reasons and they let us be seen together. My daughter went to the Lake Joy Med Stop today (2/11/2019) and was treated with the utmost disrespect. "Dr." (And I use that term very loosely) Piyushkumar R. Patel saw my daughter and before he even looked at her he diagnosed her. Her symptoms show that she could have mono. However, rather test her for mono he diagnosed her with a sinus infection "because that's what's going around right now." He proceeded to give her a Z-pack. If she does have mono, the Z-pack will do her no good and will cause her to have hives & an allergic reaction. He did all of his crack "misdiagnosing" while charging a college student, who does not have much money, $200 for this privilege. To add to this "wonderful" doctoring the illustrious customer service shown by Laurie Darsey, who is the office manager, leaves a lot to be desired. I was given excuse after excuse...they can't control what the doctor does, people come to see the doctor for their experience and expert opinions, and my favorite..I wasn't there so I don't really know what happened. Between these 2 clowns, if anyone goes to the Lake Joy Med Stop you should know you are wasting your money. read more

I took my two year old daughter to them yesterday February the 10th 2019 because she had a high fever and she kept having a running also a stuffy nose. The doctor did nothing but check her nose and ear and told me that it was the rhinovirus. Took her to her primary doctor to find out that she has strep throat. That doctor didn't do his job at all. I'm a firefighter/EMT and I knew it was more to it due to her symptoms. I'll NEVER GO TO THAT PLACE AGAIN. read more

Went in today with lower abdomen pain. Told them up front when I signed in what I needed to be seen for. I was charged $169.00 up front since I haven't met my deductible. Then waited for an hour to see the doctor and for him to tell me that he couldn't tell me what was wrong because there is a lot of possible causes for pain in the stomach and that I needed to go to the ER for more testing! I told him that I was not going there simply because I couldn't afford to go there and that was the reason I went here to begin with! So this was a Total waste of time and Money for absolutely nothing! Then the nurse comes in with paperwork for me to sign so if something happens to me then they wouldn't be responsible cause they sent me to the ER! She said well it could be gas or anything! "Just go to the ER if you get worse!" This place Sucks! There are so many people out here who can't afford to go to the hospital and that's why they go to the clinics. Why would they not be able to do an ultrasound? They do x-rays but not any others! Doctors are a freakin joke! He came in with a face mask on, but he was not sick!
