It's so close to everything in Hocking Hills, yet so quietly secluded down a little private entrance past a pond (where deer are often grazing) off the beaten path just far enough away from the other Cabins in the Pines. After a long day of canoeing, horseback riding or hiking, you can enjoy the jacuzzi to ease your muscles and then make s'mores over the campfire in a fire ring that's at a short but safe distance from the cabin. If you haven't stayed here yet, you should book it ASAP. You will be so happy that you did!

We rented the Gray Wolf Lodge for two nights and it truly exceeded expectations…read more Gray Wolf said it would sleep a maximum of 12, we had 10 people (6 adults and 4 teenagers) and everyone was comfortable. I had booked the lodge in December for a June stay and all arrival instructions were clearly articulated. House was very clean, furniture was comfortable, and you are about 10 minutes from Old Man's Cave. If you need something from Logan it is more of a 25-30 minute drive to a Walmart or Kroger. Also included staying here is a pool pass good for 12. I highly recommend the Gray Wolf lodge. It was a great experience in the Hocking Hills.

We arrived at Hocking Hills Saturday afternoon, hiked and hung out at the lodge. We then went to our cabin, arriving around 7:00 pm tired and ready for a campfire. But...the driveway was too steep for my SUV to climb. We attempted 4 times and gave up, there was no way my car was going to make it up the hill. We couldn't even see the cabin it was up a huge hill and around a bend. The reservation warned of a steep incline so I called the office when I made the reservation and was told that its only a problem in inclement weather - that was not true! I have a 2024 SUV, I do not have an old car that would be questionable. We couldn't get cell service to call the office so we left and drove to the nearest hotel thinking we would find somewhere else to stay. I reached a lady at Cabins by the Caves and was told we should have been able to get up the hill - her car gets up the hill with no problem and so does the cleaning ladies. Well - my car couldn't and I wasn't going to burn up the engine trying. She eventually gave me my money back and told us "never call again". We tried 4 hotels in the area, all were booked. We had no choice but to drive all the way back home. Needless to say our weekend was a bust. We lost money on our zipline tour and we lost our weekend. DO NOT RENT THIS CABIN WITHOUT A 4 WHEEL DRIVE!!

We had a blast!…read moreThe reservation process was simple and easy, the owner's communication was great, and the cabin was very nice. Pros: *The cabin came equipped with everything we needed - towels, washclothes, dish soap, cooking utensils, bedding, etc. *Cabin was clean and smelled great when we arrived. *Plenty of room for our group of 7. *No neighbors - our cabin was on it's own plot of land and the nearest neighbor was at least a mile away. It was quiet and we didn't have to worry about the kids playing outdoors. *Hot tub! We chose this cabin in part because it offered a hot tub and we were not disappointed. Their hot tub was modern and wonderful and we used it every night we were there. *Beds were super comfy and bedding was nice and clean-smelling. *Small water feature in the backyard had live frogs and our children had a blast watching them! *Upstairs and downstairs patio - upstairs patio was directly off the living room and had a sturdy railing going all the way around so the kids could be out there blowing bubbles or playing without our having to worry about them. *Great fire pit. *Grounds were very nice and well-kept. View off the back patio was fantastic! Cons: *No bathroom on main floor. You have to go up or down to use the bathroom. This was an issue for us since we had a 2-year-old in our group that had to be walked to and from the bathroom. *Cabin does show it's age a bit. Overall, the cabin was very nice but it could use some updating. One of the windowsills downstairs was covered in some sort of mold and several of the patio chairs (and a recliner in the living room) were broken or in need of repair. The fridge had a note telling us not to overload with items or it would stop working which seemed a little strange. *The stairs were an issue for us as the stairs leading upstairs were open slat and our little girls were fearful when ascending. The stairs leading downstairs were wide open and we were constantly watching out for the 2-year-old so she wouldn't inadvertently fall down. If you're nearby, check out the following attractions: Hocking Hills Adventures (http://www.hockinghillscanoeing.com/) - we went canoeing there and it was great! If you haven't canoed before, please ask the staff for some pointers. They're personable and friendly! Full of fun and funky shops and they have a small miniature golf course for the kids in your group. Pizza Crossing (http://www.pizzacrossing.com/) - Great pizza place suggested by the locals and we weren't disappointed! Just down the street from canoeing so we canoed and then called to order and picked up on our way back to our cabin.

The reason for me giving 3 stars is that the photos posted by the owners are quite deceptive regarding the distance from a busy highway. As you can see from my photos, CO-19 is approximately 30 feet from the cabin. Without the TV on, you can hear constant traffic even with the door closed. Trying to sit on the porch to relax was impossible because the road is so loud. The cabin is basically as pictured on the website, very homey and comfortable, and the other 3 cabins are far enough from Luna's to allow for privacy. We would have definitely had a wonderful, romantic honeymoon weekend if it hadn't been for the constant noise.

One word for the water.....SULFUR. The water was so bad that it ended up turning all our sterling jewelry orange, and that was bad considering we only bathed twice. :O With all the water treatment options available now and with what you had installed downstairs for water treatment it was too bad about our jewelry and the odor. Hope our jewelry can be fixed! No hand towel rings. There are several places to mount a towel holder by the bathroom sink. Also.... no place to set your toiletry supply bag. Hard for the ladies especially. Lack of dinnerware. Only 2 ceramic dinner sized plates and the rest were tin. Really? Dollar Tree has some really nice ceramic plates for $1 each. Light bulb out on ceiling fan and the whole place is dim so you need all the light you can get. Kitchen would REALLY benefit from light strips under the cabinets. No light at all in shower. Could hardly see to bathe! Also need a lighted vent fan in bathroom. No sponge or kitchen dishrag of any kind to hand wash dishes. Need at least a sponge there and more than just one dish towel. The place was nice enough but not $200 a night nice. Honestly.... this was the most expensive cabin we have stayed in and the least nice, and we have stayed in many cabins. Hopefully you will at least consider our comments to make some improvements. And being that we never received any kind of response from several emails to Doug AND to our comments per above when sent to him, wont be staying here ever again.

The online pictures created expectations that simply were not met when we arrived. To make matters worse, campsites were not clearly labeled, which resulted in another camper taking our reserved site. Management was very disorganized and, instead of taking responsibility and resolving issues efficiently, seemed to have an excuse for everything. The site we were ultimately assigned was basically a mud pit and not suitable for the premium price we paid. Many of the amenities advertised were either under construction or unavailable during our stay, yet this was not adequately communicated beforehand. We chose this campground and paid the higher rates expecting the advertised experience, but what we received fell far short. For the amount of money spent, this campground was simply not worth it. Hocking Hills itself is beautiful, but we left feeling frustrated and misled. Unfortunately, we will not be returning and cannot recommend this campground to others.

False advertisement for pool on the premises. Shower house on a Friday evening was ridiculous. The first door was locked to a shower, second one shower head didn't work, and the 4th was draining improperly, leaving one working shower. Would not recommend at all.

When we called to inform them, they denied the allegation and furthermore implied that we must have brought them with us and would not do anything about it. The outcome was that we needed a special extermination treatment at a cost of $2000, a new box and matres set of $1500 and had to discard some apparel. along with all the grief, inconvenience and aggravation. We called again to see if their insurance would cover it and it went on def ears. A little google research indicated that Athens Ohio is infested with bed bugs - unbeknown to us at the time but quite sure the locals are aware of it, let along the hospitality inns. My advice is, STAY AWAY FROM THERE!

A grill (2 actually but we only used the one in the patio) a heated splash pool the kids loved. Four bedrooms plus a loft with a pull out couch. Perfect for a married couple and 3 kids. Our daughter fell in love with the loft so we had a spare bedroom that wasn't used. Great kitchen and bathrooms. Plus a little boat house with a fire pit we used to make s'mores. We also used the outdoor fireplace to watch an nba playoff game while the kids were in the splash pool.

We stayed at the Lake House for four nights. The house deserves an award from Architectural Digest. it's simply indescribable how well appointed this house is. I've attached some pics that I think captures the essence of this jewel. The house was clean with lots of extras. The plunge pool is like an oversized hot tub that's over five feet deep. The staff was very attentive and met our every need. We decided to buy two robes since we forgot ours. We texted the office and they delivered them within minutes. The robes were top of the line bath robes that kept us warm on cool nights after soaking in the hot tub. Best robe i've ever owned. We ordered the Italian Night dinner which was in the refrigerator when we arrived with heating instructions. It was a delicious lasagna with a tossed salad and Tiramisu for dessert. Best Tiramisu i've ever had. Wish we had ordered other meals. We loved the outdoor fireplace with a TV under a covered area adjacent to the plunge pool. We made and ate s'mores while watching tv in front of roaring fire. We have stayed in many high end resorts and this retreat was the best we've ever stayed at. It's also a good value. We paid more at other resorts that didn't come close to the luxury we found here.
