Some of the inflatables were not fully inflated and many of them felt slimy on the sides. Again, regular cleaning would resolve this. There also are not many chairs/umbrellas which would have upset me had we arrived later in the day as there are no other areas for shade. We took the kayak with no special effects, the lit ones were already reserved. My group had 7, and there were a few others on our tour. I think it was 11 plus the 2 guides. The tour took about an hour, there is no current so it is NOT strenuous at all. It was super cool to see the trout , some swam pretty close too. And they are huge! I loved this adventure. I only wish it lasted longer because I could have stayed down in the caves until my toes got so cold they snapped right off LOL. After arriving and parking, you walk to the trailer that houses the gift shop to check in. They may ask to weigh you to ensure safety in the kayaks. And for a small fee, they will hold and store valuables for you or you can rent a dry bag to take with you. After a safety spiel, you get your life jacket and helmet (both musts, don't argue) and lumber on in to the mouth of the cave. Even in summer it is nice and chilly and the water is cold. You can't wear shoes in the boats (clear bottom and lights need to be kept nice) so I would recommend bringing some socks to wear in the boat. You are likely to get a little damp, but not dripping wet (unless you fall in). Our guide was fun and energetic, but not over the top annoyingly so, and full of information, patience, and willingness to answer questions. You see some really cool and fun things, and it was an exceptionally fun time! I would one million percent do it again, in a heartbeat! Highly recommend giving them some of your time and money.

You can book your reservations online however we decided to pay up at the desk due to the weather. Didn't know if it was going to rain but it turned out to be a gorgeous day. First it is required to sign a waiver then you check in. There are several options. You can choose between the 2,3,6 or 8.5 mile trek. You can rent tandem kayak, single kayak or canoe. We opted for the tandem kayak $86.00 for the both of us and we did the 6 mile round trip. You pick your life jacket, wait for your name to be called out and you take a bus. From there they will drop you off depending on what mile marker you chose. The staff makes sure to explain where to not go and when you have to be back. Make sure you are back by 7:00 pm. Once you get to the river you pick your paddle and kayak/canoe and off you go. You may hit some rough shallow spots but for the most part, it was smooth sailing. Make sure to pack a small cooler for your drinks. Stay hydrated. We also kayaked to Little Miami Brewing and had a couple of libations. That was fun! Overall the whole experience was great and I had a blast. Coming back the staff was super friendly, helpful and laid back. I would definitely come back. This place rocks.

In addition, they refunded the cost of my canoe. I appreciate the customer service! * This will be the last time I give any money to this business. After being a faithful customer for at least 10 years (probably much longer as we never went to the other business on the river) this visit was not worth the money I paid. We were given a broken paddle, that we did not realize was broken until the drop off location. Per their documentation they will charge you for a broken or missing paddle, so we opted to just take one and gave the other back to the driver as they didn't have an extra to give us. It wasn't so bad until very close to the exit and we did flip, loosing shoes and many other things. Flipping is a known hazard with one or two paddles, but my complaint is the customer service. In the past, there have always been staff ready to pull you in as you approach the exit. Not this time! This time, my son was waiting to pull us in as the staff meandered their way down the hill. One blonde gentlemen was reading something off his phone and literally never put it down until I said "can you put down the phone and help pull us in!" He was rude and told me to go back and get my one paddle out off the canoe (with his phone still in hand and me carrying bags and without shoes because they washed down the river). One very helpful staff member said he would grab it for me and he did. When I returned to get my deposit back, they didn't offer any type of compensation for the ONE paddle and really didn't seem to care about their staff and the poor service (again, one out of 3 or 4 staff was very helpful and extremely polite).

The river was maintained with nice spots to pull off for a rest. --1 star: the bathrooms at the front building were the dirtiest bathrooms I have ever experienced. Only 1 working toilet in the women's ( arrived at 9am) . --2 stars: unloading area at the end was not maintained. ( the staff member said what they had washed away in the spring) no where to pull your canoe to get off . Steep muddy hill to climb up. Someone in our group got hurt trying to get out when unloading . Young children were struggling to get up the steep hill.
