While in line I had several opportunities to chat with the staff and discovered many of them were college interns or attending an attraction management program. They take ride safety very seriously and their pre launch announcements sounded like they actually enjoyed their role. My must-ride recommendations are Millennium Force and Steel Vengeance. Get a day locker pass that lets you move from attraction to attraction. Although some rides provide complimentary lockers they are very small. The Farmhouse Kitchen and Grill had the best food at the park. A bonus was my Prestige Pass from a different home park worked for their VIP Lounge. They offer complimentary snacks such as cookies and chips.

The life guards were very attentive. We got the upgraded Deluxe Cabana and it turned out to be a great idea when an impromptu rainstorm rolled in. It included some really nice, embroidered towels as souvenirs. The food choices were sparse and exorbitantly expensive, just like inside Cedar Point, but getting the food pass at Shores would limit you mostly to pizza, Cuban sandwich, and a taco. Several of the slides were out of commission which is really the reason for the 3/5 score here.

So, if you either live close by or you have purchases a season pass for the year, this is a great place to come and cool off for the summer. I could see living nearby and buying a pass every year if I had small kids or a group of friends to hang out with, especially when the season pass is $99. Then coming here even twice would pay for itself. Since for the first time ever, we have a season pass, I would like to come back and relax at least one more time. But, if you are just coming here for the day without a season pass, it is not worth it at all. Everything is very old and not well taken care of. Everything is also covered in bird poop, and I literally mean everything. You could have thought they would have cleaned up for opening day, but nope! And you would have thought the rain would have gotten the poop off of literally every surface, but nope. This is a tiny place for the money compared to other waterparks that ask for similar entry fees. The prices for the food is high and when you ask the workers questions they do not even know the answers. I asked where the changing room was to get in and out of bathing suits, they did not know. Plus the lockers are not even near the changing rooms at all. Not very convenient to a point where a worker agreed it was not set up in a customer friendly manner. A lot of the rides were breaking or not open. The lazy river was slimy and very dirty. The entire place was a bit dirty, and again, it was opening day. f Plus there were a million bugs. I think I ate 15 just trying to climb up a slide with my poop covered tube. Then I flipped at the bottom of a slide and went under, and the lifeguard just watched me. I have been to many other places nearby. If you have the money, I would recommend just going to Kalahari if you want a waterpark. I liked Great Wolf and even Castaway Bay better. If you have a lot of money, I would recommend Volcano Bay or the Disney World Orlando waterparks over this one.

The layout is cool, with some gentle twists and turns that give it personality without overwhelming younger riders. It's a nice change of pace from the big thrill rides and a great way to bring the whole family into the fun side of Cedar Point. Ride Stats: Moderate length and speed (official stats not listed) Best Seat: Anywhere, it's a smooth, comfortable ride Pro Tip: Perfect for a quick break or to introduce kids to coasters. Photo-Worthy? Not really, but it's charming in its own way. Personal Note: The Mine Ride is a solid choice when you want to slow down but still enjoy Cedar Point's coaster magic with family or little ones. It's all about fun and smiles, no thrills required.

Greg's Coaster Collection: Ride #2 - Maverick Category:…read moreThrill Coaster | Rating: 5/5 | Best For: Coaster Enthusiasts & Adventure Seekers | Wait Time: Maverick is hands down one of my favorite coasters at Cedar Point. It's got this wild, untamed wilderness vibe that perfectly fits its name. The first lift hill leads into a jaw-dropping 95-degree drop that instantly wakes you up, followed by crazy, whip-fast turns that keep your heart racing the entire ride. The sleek design, bold colors, and overall atmosphere make it feel like you're on a roller coaster adventure through the backcountry. One of my favorite moments is the unexpected launch underneath the station that shoots you toward the water section -- it's a rush like no other. Like Millennium Force, Maverick's iconic silhouette is visible from the road as you approach the park, a beacon of thrills calling you in. Ride Stats: 4,450 feet of track * 70 mph top speed * 95-degree drop * 2 minutes 30 seconds ride time Best Seat: Front row for pure speed, back row for maximum airtime Pro Tip: Avoid the midday crowds -- rope drop or the last ride of the night means way less waiting. Photo-Worthy? Absolutely, especially near the first drop and water section. Personal Note: This coaster quickly became my favorite at Cedar Point for its unique mix of wild design and intense thrills. Every ride feels like a new adventure, and that launch under the station still gets me every time.

It's fast, it's compact, and if you've eaten recently, you might regret the ride -- those inversions pack a punch! It's not the scariest coaster in the park by any means, but it's definitely not for the faint of heart either. Plus, there's something fun about walking underneath as the trains zip overhead -- classic Cedar Point vibe right there. It's a quick ride and definitely less popular than it was back in the day, but still worth a spin if you want a taste of coaster history. Ride Stats: 2,200 feet of track * 48 mph top speed * 85-foot drop * 1 minute 40 seconds ride time Best Seat: Front row for smoother inversions, back row for extra speed Pro Tip: Best for a quick thrill when lines are short. Photo-Worthy? Only if you like shots of blue and white blur! Personal Note: Corkscrew might not be my top pick, but it's a classic that every Cedar Point fan should experience -- a nice throwback to the park's early thrill days.

Nothing beats the thrill of racing head-to-head against your friends on the dual red and blue tracks -- and the signature "Can I get a high five?" moment as you zip side-by-side is pure adrenaline and fun. Gemini's classic wooden coaster feel packs a punch with its speed and smoothness, proving that old-school designs still hold their own in a park filled with giants. It's not a white-knuckle thrill ride, but that's exactly what makes it great -- it's fun, fluid, and has a unique layout that feels different from the traditional coaster. The swooping turns and suspended seats give you a nice, breezy ride that's easy to enjoy whether you're a coaster newbie or just want something a little more chill. It's a solid park staple that's likely to stay around for a long time, and I'm happy about that. Ride Stats: 2,200 feet of track * Moderate speeds and smooth turns Best Seat: Anywhere, but front seats give the best views Pro Tip: Ride at less busy times for a more relaxed experience.
