Top 2 ride in the park. Top 10 in the world. Beautiful... Intamin blitz is a can't miss model but the ride pulls it off especially well. The second half of this coaster is one of the best experiences on a roller coaster you'll ever have. They let me ride twice in a row

The Maverick roller coaster is yet another wonderful ride that the folks from the Cedar Point amusement park have installed that will terrify you. Unlike the Steel Vengeance, whose seats do portend the horror that is about to come to its riders, the industrial strength seats on the Maverick let you know that it's about to be a bumpy ride. Diana Ross had a song called "Upside Down" where she states, "Upside down,Boy, you turn me, Inside out. And round and round" and those were my first thoughts while I was on this twisty, turny, upside down ride. It's a beast of a ride and if you love roller coasters, this one's for you. Now mind you, even with early entry into the park, we still had to wait a minute to get on this ride. However, once we got this bad mofo, we were hooked and all of the time that we spent in line was nothing but a memory. By the time you go in and out of the ride's heart stopping loops and turns, you barely remember your name. The ride is just that good. So, if you're into roller coasters, pu-leeze go to Cedar Point and ride the Maverick. Just make sure that you don't have any heart or bladder problems... LOL!

All my photos got wiped (lame) so here's 3 of the 6 trains on the brake run....and the surprise launch track below it

THE WILD, WILD, WILD WEST This buckin' mothaf*ckin' bronco has more twists and turns than an M. Night Shyamalan movie. I'm going to tell you right now (spoiler alert!), 'Maverick' is not only the best coaster at Cedar Point -- edging out more than a dozen others for that distinction -- but it's one of the best coasters anywhere in the country. Interestingly enough, it's only 105ft tall.  More on that later, cowpokes! ~Special ride elements~ *LSM-launched lift hill *95° drop *twisted horseshoe roll (consecutive, mirrored corkscrews) *tunnel *LSM-launch *92° overbanked turn *Stengel dive Built in 2007, Mavvy is the 500th roller coaster designed by the famous Werner Stengel, and he must be pleased as punch with how this turned out.  There are so many gleeful quirks and eccentricities about this ride it's daunting to list them all.  But I'm gonna try: 1) Mavvy has beautifully unassuming statistics. Situated in Frontier Town, towards the back of the park, 'Maverick' is 9 years old now and never set any type of records, yet lines can still reach upwards of an hour.  It's got barely a 100ft drop, *only* 2 inversions, and top speed of 70mph which makes it the 5th fastest coaster at the park. Nothing too noteworthy there..... However, it was christened the "Best New Ride" in the 2007 Amusement Today awards, although it hasn't garnered nearly the same level of attention that 'Millennium Force', 'Dragster', or even 'Magnum' had in its heyday. So while she may not win any beauty pageants, 'Maverick' continues to win all sorts of popularity contests. Expect lengthy wait times, folks. 2) Mavvy runs without a chain. Despite the presence of a lift hill, there is no traditional chain or cable to be found.  Linear Synchronous Motors (LSM's) gradually boost the trains up the 20° incline at 20mph.  Later on in the ride, a secondary launch catapults the train to 70mph on a straightaway section but shhhhh that's a secret surprise!! 3) Mavvy's trains are tiny, but plentiful in number. Six different trains seat 12 riders a piece, in 6 rows of 2.  They come in a variety of flavors; gunmetal grey, gold, brass, black, silver, and copper.  Each train is equipped with soft vest restraints which makes for an exceedingly comfortable ride.  Shorter trains means a much wilder ride sensation, as they can navigate turns with far more agility.  Which is CRUCIAL, because...... ..... 4) Mavvy is one out of control bee-otch! Between the high speed S-curves through the canyon, the sharp airtime hill, the insane "Stengel dive" overbanked turn, or the 'fake out' ending underneath the station (LOVE that sh*t, btw), everything about this coaster is meant to feel like a wild stallion.  I really don't want to give anything away, but I'll say that this roller coaster is jam-packed with surprises and never once disappointed me (nor will it you!) Eric S's Cedar Point coaster ranking = **1ST** out of 13. Verdict : obviously I saved the best coaster for last.  'Maverick' will bring you sweet satisfaction time and time again, and is without question the best overall thrill machine in the whole damn park. Go ahead and argue with me, but be prepared to lose said argument. Some may say that 'Millennium Force' is better; that coaster is all about pomp & circumstance. This ride is the whole package with both speed and smooth transitions, and the rather unpretentious nature of everything puts sweet Mavvy in the running for "the most humble roller coaster to ever exist." Suffice it to say, Cedar Point struck paydirt with this tremendous terrain-hugger. Even if the estimated wait is 90 minutes long, DO IT. Oh....and all y'all 'Maverick' haters can go buck yourselves.

This coaster has been a bucket list coaster for a long time now and I am so glad I got to ride it and it was a fricken blast!!!!!!!! The launch was insane, intense turns and great speed!

I decided to go on this ride first before I rode on steel vengeance since I heard this is the 2nd best ride of the park. I would say it is great as it keeps you guessing what is happening next. It was awesome and wonderful to say the least. I say you get launched twice and twist and turn. Definitely going to ride this many times

Five stars all the way. This coaster whips and turns you and shoots you out s few times while never making it over 100 feet in the air. And it does an amazing job at it. Just when you think its over, you enter a tunnel and it shoots you out again to finish the ride. Amazing roller coaster. A must ride... Lines are long so get there early. 2018 Review... still long lines like crazy. Thank God for Fast Land Plus. By 11am, there was an hr line for this ride... It well worth it since it's a great ride... Note to anyone, don't wear your hat on the ride...

Yelp moved my 5 star Maverick review to the Cedar Point listing and I'm too much of a caveman to figure out how to copy and paste it so I'm just including it here as screenshoted pics. Do not listen to Mr. 2 Star Troll! Or, you know what? Do listen. Go wait in line for Wicked Twister all day to help lessen the wait for Maverick.

My family visited Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, and overall we had an absolutely fantastic time…read more Cedar Point is known as the "Roller Coaster Capital of the World," and after visiting, it's easy to see why. There are so many rides and attractions that it honestly feels impossible to experience everything in just one visit. The thrill rides are incredible. If you love roller coasters, this place is like paradise. From massive towering coasters that shoot you high into the sky to lightning-fast launches and huge drops, the excitement never stops. Some of the rides had our hearts racing before we even got on them just by watching them fly across the tracks. The feeling of climbing slowly to the top of those massive hills and then dropping down at incredible speeds is an adrenaline rush like no other. My kids and their friends absolutely loved the thrill of it all. One of the coolest parts about Cedar Point is just how many rides there are. Everywhere you look there's another roller coaster twisting through the air, another thrill ride spinning and flipping, or another attraction waiting to be explored. There's a great mix of rides too, so whether you like extreme coasters, classic rides, or more family-friendly attractions, there's something for everyone. The atmosphere throughout the park is really fun and energetic. You can hear people cheering, laughing, and screaming with excitement as the rides fly by overhead. Being right on Lake Erie also makes the setting really beautiful. There are some amazing views of the water while walking around the park, which adds to the whole experience. Now, I will say that Cedar Point can definitely be pricey. Tickets, food, and extras can add up pretty quickly when you're visiting with a group or family. The food itself was actually really good, but the food lines were extremely long at times. We definitely spent a good amount of time waiting in line just to grab something to eat. The ride lines were also pretty long, which is somewhat expected at such a popular amusement park. When you have some of the best roller coasters in the world, people are going to line up for them. Even though the wait times could be lengthy, the rides themselves were absolutely worth it once you finally got on. Despite the cost and the long lines, the experience overall was completely worth it. My family and my kids' friends had an absolute blast from the moment we walked into the park until the moment we left. There were so many laughs, so many screams from the roller coasters, and so many fun memories made throughout the day. Cedar Point truly is an iconic amusement park and a must-visit for anyone who loves thrill rides and roller coasters. It's exciting, energetic, and packed with attractions. Even with the long lines and higher prices, the fun and excitement make it a place our group will definitely remember and talk about for a long time.

We were expecting the crowds to be pretty heavy since we went on a 4th of July weekend but was pleasantly surprised that it was pretty laid back. We bought the fast passes and ended up not really needing them. The rides are the best. They do specialize in roller coasters but they had some tame rides that my husband could enjoy (he's not into thrills). I had no idea that the park was located on the lake so you could be riding a ride next to the water. The views were amazing. They also provide games. While I was riding the rides my husband took advantage of the basketball game and we went home with 2 prizes. It's a theme park so everything is expensive. We easily spent over 200 dollars for the 2 of us including the tickets. Even though Cedar Point is not budget friendly, I highly suggest people still visit At-least once

The life guards were very attentive. We got the upgraded Deluxe Cabana and it turned out to be a great idea when an impromptu rainstorm rolled in. It included some really nice, embroidered towels as souvenirs. The food choices were sparse and exorbitantly expensive, just like inside Cedar Point, but getting the food pass at Shores would limit you mostly to pizza, Cuban sandwich, and a taco. Several of the slides were out of commission which is really the reason for the 3/5 score here.

This B&M has a interesting…read morehistory since it started its life as a Stand-Up Coaster in 1996 (when it was known as Mantis), however in 2015, they gave it floorless trains and renamed it to Rougarou. And despite the upgrade, this coaster has a BAD reputation. But does it deserve it? Let's find out! So first we climb up the lift hill, and we get a good view of Cedar Point. And a GREAT view of Top Thrill 2's Spike (although this wasn't built when I was there so RIP). We then hit a turnaround and hit the first drop. And we get... AIRTIME! Not a lot, but enough to make our butts go out of the seat. Which, HEY! I'll take it!!! We then hit the standard B&M Vertical Loop, which is fun followed by a Dive Loop which is great due to how much speed we have. But then we hit the INCLINED LOOP! Now, B&M Inclined loops are super rare, which is a shame because they're awesome. I LOVE the Inclined Loop on Riddler's Revenge (Would've also probably loved the one on this when it was Mantis as well as Green Lantern at Great Adventure. Sad that ride got torn down), and I love this one too! Plus, this is the only B&M Floorless coaster to have one of these! Making this super cool! We then hit the mid-course brakes and sadly, this is where Rougarou falls apart, Rougarou kind of sucks from here on out. We then hit some twisty turns which don't do much, a corkscrew that bangs our heads a bit (not too badly thankfully) until we hit the brake run. While Rougarou is not the best B&M looper ever and isn't one of Cedar Point's best coasters, it's not a bad ride by any means. In fact, I consider it to be underrated and a fun ride. Like seriously, from the way my friend talked about this ride, he made it sound like it was as bad as a Vekoma SLC or Green Lantern. LIKE BRO, ARE YOU NUTS???? THIS THING CURBSTOMPS BOTH OF THEM!!! And yeah, after riding it with him, it's really not that bad! That first half is just so good and again, I LOVE INCLINED LOOPS! Plus this never usually has a line. So I recommend checking this out at Cedar Point. Final Score: 72/100 Opened as Mantis in 1996 Reopened as Rougarou in 2015 Built by: B&M Last Ridden: May 20th 2023

It's fast, it's compact, and if you've eaten recently, you might regret the ride -- those inversions pack a punch! It's not the scariest coaster in the park by any means, but it's definitely not for the faint of heart either. Plus, there's something fun about walking underneath as the trains zip overhead -- classic Cedar Point vibe right there. It's a quick ride and definitely less popular than it was back in the day, but still worth a spin if you want a taste of coaster history. Ride Stats: 2,200 feet of track * 48 mph top speed * 85-foot drop * 1 minute 40 seconds ride time Best Seat: Front row for smoother inversions, back row for extra speed Pro Tip: Best for a quick thrill when lines are short. Photo-Worthy? Only if you like shots of blue and white blur! Personal Note: Corkscrew might not be my top pick, but it's a classic that every Cedar Point fan should experience -- a nice throwback to the park's early thrill days.

Gemini's classic wooden coaster feel packs a punch with its speed and smoothness, proving that old-school designs still hold their own in a park filled with giants.
