    Schererville Animal Control & Shelter

Background check, application…read moreprocessed, only $60.00 they both were microchip, vaccinated, spayed and neutered, ventinary check up to deem the health. The past 3 months have been fun. Midnight, is female, sits on the top of the living room chair watching out the window. Friendly, lovable, meows for me to pet her; such a stress reliever. Leo, the male, is shy. He will spend most of his time downstairs. The cats are quiet, clean, low-maintenance for the life I live. The animal control personal were very professional. The animals were shown care. I appreciated the genuine attitude the building and staff showed. If interested in a pet give a sheltered animal a chance because animals adopted from shelters typically cost less than ones purchased or even acquired for free--once you add in the cost of vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, microchip, dewormer, and other "tide bits" included in your adoption fee, you'll probably be surprised what a bargain it is to have chosen an adopted pet. Most shelters and rescue groups conduct thorough behavioral analyses of each pet to get a better ideal that they will be the right piece for your family. Schererville Animal Control did this and told me if anything happens to please bring the pets back. I can not recommend to adopt a shelter animal anymore than buying from a pet store etc. Most pets end up homeless through no fault of their own--"moving" and "landlord issues" are the top reasons people give for relinquishing their pets, please check out your local shelter. It was definitely 100% worth it for my children and I.

Angela scheduled his vet/surgery appointment and we got him over there right after the weekend. We're still working through the introduction to our dog, but are hopeful that they'll be great siblings. :) I know that there are many animals that come through there, and all I have heard are good things about how Schererville AC takes care of the animals and how professional they are with everyone. Keep up the good work!

I took my 12 year old cat Carl in to see Dr. Smith after I noticed him not eating. Next day got a…read moreblood test and he was diagnosed with late stage 4 chronic kidney disease. Dr. Smith did not prescribe Carl the treatment he should have gotten and no mention of referring me to someone else. He only recommended a diet change and a CALCIUM based phosphate binder. Long story short Carl went to a specialist but it was too late and I had to say goodbye to him this last Monday. I'm done with Coyne, not one mention or recommendation for a blood test, their app stopped working for me like a year ago and no mention of them switching to a different app (which they apparently did and that's how I kept up with reminders), still sending me ads for Carl even though they have his records from the specialist where he passed on Monday - had to call and ask them to stop because it's just too painful to keep seeing, Dan's I was told I could start sub fluids as a treatment option....its not about what I COULD do or what I could try. It's about what does my baby NEED? Money isn't an issue for me so ZERO excuse to not remind per parents of blood checks or other vital information. Carl ended up needing several meds and the doctor at Coyne even agreed I could try them. Luckily, I'm never going back there and we are pulling our dog as well. I simply can't trust them and need peace of mind for my pet. Carl was there since 2018 and never one discussion about blood tests (should get checked twice per year). I strongly advise you to leave Coyne and go somewhere more personal and knowledgeable. I feel like Coyne is desensitized to sick pets and that's not good. GRILL your vets and be sure you can trust whomever is reading your babies blood tests. If you have a cat, go get them blood tested twice a year once they're over the age of 6.

Well, even after hearing all the terrible rumors about this company, I stupidly fell in love with a…read morepuppy I seen on their website and had to go meet him myself. Drove here today from Chicago to deal with absolute nonsense. First red flag - no prices on any animal in site, leaving a lot of room for scams and immediately creating a sense of mistrust between myself & the employees. While inquiring about purchasing a puppy, one woman had informed me that she did not have knowledge of the prices of the puppies, but I could play with the one I was inquiring about. I quickly denied, as I have no desire to fall more in love with an animal with a ridiculous price. I seen another employee close by, the woman told me the price of this dog was $9,000, but on sale for $6,000. SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS. I could not believe it. These animals are living in containers, displayed in the most inhumane way possible. The puppy I drove to this location to meet had feces all over his cage and body, that he'd apparently been rolling around in. Another dog was throwing himself into the walls of his enclosure, desperate to get out for some play time. I'm completely and utterly disgusted by this establishment & I will NEVER return to another location. It's no wonder all of their locations were permanently shut down in the Chicagoland area, the mistreatment and overpricing of these poor animals ensures that they will never find a forever home, at least until they've grown some and got a big "discount" sticker on the front of their window. (Which I also observed).

It's a great store! I love to take the dog(sometimes multiple dogs) into this place…read more The layout is easy to navigate and it seem like "everything is where it should be" like you can walk in never having been there and kinda already know where to look. Banfield Vet in the back of the store is a REALLY god place too! Very friendly, quick to give doggy treats and it's a quick IN and OUT. Not it the bad way, they take care of your pet and do everything "right and proper", what I mean is that they don't make you wait, and wait and wait... to get you checked in or out. It's all pretty simple. Now, back to the PetSmart part- I called in on a Sunday to check if they carried packs for dogs; like for hiking 'n such. Not only did they only have me on hold for less than 2 mins(I seriously think the girl who answered RAN to go check) but they told me: 1- The Prices. 2- What Sizes they had. AND!! 3- The COLORS!? See they could have just told me "Ya we got 'em" and left it at that. NOPE! they had to go 'n show off how awesome the customer service is at that particular PetSmart. The ONLY gripe I have about this and EVERY PetSmart is that **some** of the prices can be a bit... "inflated" for what you're buying. But, that's every store I guess. All in all the PetSmart located at: 711 Hwy 41 Schererville, IN is an excellent store. It's Clean, Friendly and Easy to Find.

Even the next day, his eyes were still bothering him and had noticeable discharge. That's not something I expected after a grooming appointment and it was honestly concerning to see. On top of that, his haircut was uneven and not what I expected from a professional service. Overall, I wasn't satisfied with this experience.
