I took my 12 year old cat Carl in to see Dr. Smith after I noticed him not eating. Next day got a blood test and he was diagnosed with late stage 4 chronic kidney disease. Dr. Smith did not prescribe Carl the treatment he should have gotten and no mention of referring me to someone else. He only recommended a diet change and a CALCIUM based phosphate binder. Long story short Carl went to a specialist but it was too late and I had to say goodbye to him this last Monday. I'm done with Coyne, not one mention or recommendation for a blood test, their app stopped working for me like a year ago and no mention of them switching to a different app (which they apparently did and that's how I kept up with reminders), still sending me ads for Carl even though they have his records from the specialist where he passed on Monday - had to call and ask them to stop because it's just too painful to keep seeing, Dan's I was told I could start sub fluids as a treatment option....its not about what I COULD do or what I could try. It's about what does my baby NEED? Money isn't an issue for me so ZERO excuse to not remind per parents of blood checks or other vital information. Carl ended up needing several meds and the doctor at Coyne even agreed I could try them. Luckily, I'm never going back there and we are pulling our dog as well. I simply can't trust them and need peace of mind for my pet. Carl was there since 2018 and never one discussion about blood tests (should get checked twice per year). I strongly advise you to leave Coyne and go somewhere more personal and knowledgeable. I feel like Coyne is desensitized to sick pets and that's not good. GRILL your vets and be sure you can trust whomever is reading your babies blood tests. If you have a cat, go get them blood tested twice a year once they're over the age of 6. read more

This clinic operates like a corporate, profit-driven business that takes every opportunity to upsell and inflate costs. For two years in a row, I brought my cat here for grooming. They require rabies and Bordetella vaccines, which I understand and have no issue with. The advertised grooming cost is $81, yet once you factor in the mandatory exam fee and additional "miscellaneous" charges, my bill exceeded $300 each time. What makes this worse is that for the second year in a row, my cat developed a respiratory infection shortly after grooming. This resulted in yet another required exam visit plus antibiotics, adding an additional $178. What should have been a routine grooming turned into nearly a $500 experience. On top of that, they now require you to sign a form prior to grooming that feels like a psychological pressure tactic rather than informed consent. You are asked to choose whether you want CPR or a DNR for your pet under anesthesia if you decline $225 bloodwork, essentially forcing you into an emotionally charged decision to push additional services. I would be more understanding of the pricing if the outcomes were better, but after two consecutive years of illness following grooming and constant upselling, I no longer trust this clinic's priorities. I drove from Nashville to visit family and stopped by their business to purchase a few cans of prescription Hill's ID canned food for my two chihuahuas. I provided them with the ORIGINAL prescription and two from pet stores so the could see I could pick up the food at multiple places. Unfortunately Petsmart and Petco only sell online or at a store that they have a medical employees but nothing was close. They REFUSED to sell the cans of food without "seeing " my dogs! This is SO WRONG! I feel they're just for the money. I explained that humans can take a written prescription to numerous pharmacies to get this meds. Today we had the worst experience ever! We took our dog, Tess in for a shot and nail trim. The girl came out, called her name and tossed a blue lead over her head and started to drag her to a door. We yelled at her to stop, we said if you look at the notes we walk in a room where she is calm and then you take her in the back. We got in a room, the girl then did the same thing, instead of greeting us and Tess in a polite manner. When she came back to us she said that the staff hates Tess and she's a big problem. We told her not to worry, we are never coming back here! The staff was very rude, I asked for a receipt, she said we will email it to you. Never got a receipt! What a terrible experience! They want you to use THEIR VETS, to use their groomers. If your pet is currently up to date on vaccines. It doesn't matter if your dog is up to date on vaccines from another Vet. They insist you see their vet and get another shot for kennel cough. So the vet Th is $82 then administration of a kennel cough shot AND THEM ADD GROOMING , you will walk out with a $300 bill. I would give the Crown Point location negative stars if I could. Absolutely worst vet/ boarding facility I have EVER used. SO many inconsistencies between every single staff you speak to, different prices between every person you speak to. The front manager tricking you into paying a certain pricing amount WITHOUT giving you an itemized receipt after asking 2 people four different times, then arguing that they "didn't say that," when in fact they did. Front service desk and other staff has zero communication between each other and the manager up front is an absolute liar. Grooming department charges whatever they feel like it when you specifically asked for something else done. Oh and let's not forget that they washed my dog twice due to "possible greasy ears/ hair" when I told them MORE THAN ONCE that she was being treated for an ear infection and had medication on NOT TO WASH HER HEAD due to the medication being on her. Out of nowhere my 4 yr old dog caught Parvo. Coyne was the first vet I called that answered the phone so thats where she went. The vet did test to confirm the diagnosis and I was told my sweet baby was sick but she would be ok. I applied for care credit and was approved for $5500 and I gave $1000 in cash. After 3 days I was called to come get my little girl because $6500 only covered the 3 days. They provided me with some scripts and there where a few I had fill at CVS and a few other items that where required to give her treatments back home. After 4 days of pain and agony being treated at home she died. This was in January, and to this day I have never received a follow up call from Coyne to even check on her status and we'll being, absolutely zero follow up on their patient. Once the money ran out and I picked my baby up it's as if they washed their hands of her and where only concerned with money and not the well being of my baby. I had to use a boarding facility for one of my dogs, a shepherd-collieX dog, Zeke, while visiting NWI for six weeks to take care of my stepmom. He has separation anxiety but is otherwise a very friendly, affectionate dog. I was worried how he would handle being in a strange environment with other dogs. I called around and Coyne had room to board Zeke for the night, but the only option was the expensive suite package for $42. I had to email the clinic Zeke's medical records to prove he had his rabies, distemper, parvo, kennel cough vaccines, but the staff took Zeke in while waiting for proof of vaccines. It's a very clean facility. My four dogs are fully vaccinated, but living in Arizona, vaccinating your dog for canine influenza is not required, nor is a fecal exam. I had to have Zeke vaccinated and fecal tested upon acceptance. That cost more than the boarding fee for one overnight stay, but I understood the health requirements. I don't want my dog getting sick, nor do I want my dog infecting other dogs, while in a boarding environment. I picked Zeke up at 7am this morning, He was still damp from a bath he had gotten. Staff said he didn't like the hair dryer in his face, so fur around his head was still damp. I am very pleased with the service I got on short notice, and will use Coyne again while traveling with Zeke in the area. I'm only docking a star because I got no email of Zeke's emotional status while he was in the boarding facility, a service other clients here have raved about. read more

They would contact me when ashes of my cat that died in their kittie condo while I was on vacation came in and I could pick up carrier and ashes same day. Coyne has saved our butts on more than a couple occasions. While they are not our usual vet, I can't say enough nice things about them as they have been super accommodating since the start of COVId. The front desk staff is kind, compassionate, and efficient. Having dog reactive dogs, it's typically hard for me to get them in the building without incident. To counteract this, Coyne gets me directly into a patient room or allows me to wait in my car until a room is available. My dog Gracie had a mass removal (along with a dental while she was under) at Coyne. They were able to get us in quickly since her mass was somewhat mysterious in nature and got us scheduled for surgery quickly when she would have had to wait for months are our regular vet. They did a great job with the surgery and were so kind to me despite my million questions. I just recently had to to take my dog Ollie there yesterday as he did something completely out of the ordinary and decided to chew and eat a decent portion of a blanket. Since he is only 12 lbs, we treated it as an emergency and got him there ASAP. They were able to work with him despite his aggressive nature and within a couple hours they had checked and cleared his xrays, induced vomiting, and had him back in my arms safe and sound. At this point, I've met every single vet at Coyne and they are all top notch. Thank you for caring for my pets like they were you're own. read more

Coyne is amazing! Every time I've brought my dachshund in, they have taken amazing care of her. The front desk staff is friendly and welcoming. And the techs and the doctors are nice and caring. I feel they actually care about my dog and want the best for her. I just recently signed my dog up for their wellness program! For a good price, I'll pay monthly and it will cover all my dogs annual shots and any office visits I may need during the year! So definitely worth it!! Brought my dog here and hopes that he would be in daycare as opposed to just merely being boarded I got a call stating that he was not socialized properly. Because he was mounting other dogs. Normal dog behavior in any park or daycare when they are first introduced. My dog boards every other place and attends daycare. I feel like they did nothing to help integrate my dog into their daycare and merely boarded him. As I was out of town I couldn't come and pick him up so he ended up in a kennel for most of the day. If you go there, make sure its pay day, you have to basically get every single shot they sell, its "policy" before they see your dog, and then its additional fees to see your dog. I'm never going there again, prior to the last time I went (out of necessity) I had brought a dog to them for a grooming. She had to get the "cocktail" of all the shots they sell and when I got her back she was walking 'sideways' curled up like she had muscular distrophy because she had to take all the shots at once, they wouldn't space them out, because... "policy"... that is horrible that they put these animals at risk and in harms way for that... it took weeks for the dog to get back to normal thank God. So, I took my pet into Coyne Vet on Broadway St today 4-04-23. There were two girls at the counter. I check in my pet for routine required shots. I sit down and wait. Twenty plus minutes pass, people coming and going, they are getting their pets attended to, and checking out. I still sit waiting. Finally tired of what I'm seeing, I go up to the counter, asked the girl what time was it when I checked it. She says are you ready to be checked out. I said what time did I check my pet in, and she says they haven't been out to get my pet yet. She goes to the back, comes back and said they had a couple of emergencies. Told her thats just an excuse that I have heard before. Shortly after that another tech comes out to take my pet back. Another 20 or so minutes goes by, and the tech comes out and says the doctor would like to speak to you. I go into the exam room, the doctor comes in and tells me some bull story about something happened to my pets right leg, as she couldn't walk, and was dragging her hind leg. They let these techs give shots, and this eases up the doctors duties. From now on when I take my pet to this facility, I will be documenting everything. I will require a doctor at each and every visit, and I will be present in the room with the doctor. I will never leave my pet unattended by me and will always be present when my pet has to be seen at this facility. I no longer trust this veterinarian or there staff. If I could give a lesser star, I would. Because the staff is rude and nobody is professional. Do yourselves and your pets a favor, and find another vet to care for your fur babies. This place blames COVID for all of there delays, and they have really gone downhill in terms of customer service and pet care. They are not worth it. This is the second time that I have encountered the very same problem. All you get from Jordyn is excuses on why it happens. No one needs to hear your excusses Jordyn. Your customer service and employees needs to be revamped, and improved. It's emergency this emergency that. All lies! Now, or in the near future, might be a good idea for me to find another nice vet. We've taken our Lilly Rose, to Coyne for a year now, I know that because she just had her first birthday. She's our first rescue a Beagle/Lab mix. A week ago we noticed she was breaking out on her underbelly, took her to Coyne in Crown Point, no appointment, we waited a short period of time. Saw the vet he told us to start to give her three benadryl a day for allergies. That's when we found out she had allergies. I took her back about a week later and saw another vet because she wasn't getting better. This vet put her on Apoquel a little stronger than the benadryl. I can tell you she's getting much better. As soon as you walk in the door you are greeted by the friendly staff. Both vets that we saw were very nice and explained everything to us so we would understand. I can tell you the Apoquel is working, and she's getting better. It is a walk-in service vet but you can call or log in and make an appointment. We were a walk-in and did wait a bit. Went to Coyne faithfully for everything. One day I called with a question. I don't cuss, I am very passive but this young girl was not friendly she argued with me and then she hung up on me. I was shocked. So I called back complained to the manager . She was extremely apologetic and that was the end of that. Over the next few months each time I went there I noticed that I was paying things that were normally covered by my wellness package. So I called to ask if there was a mistake. A supervisor came to the phone and told me that I no longer had a wellness package because I canceled it. I asked when did I do that and her response was that I canceled a few months earlier when I called to complain about the employee. I asked her why on earth would I cancel the wellness package because I called about an employee. I am not senile , I don't drink or smoke and I NEVER canceled the wellness package. Why would I? But the supervisor insisted I did. And she never offered a remedy like getting it reinstated. Her attitude was too bad so sad . She didn't seem to care. I have spent hundreds of dollars there. The doctors are good. But it's too bad their technical staff don't equate to the same level of professionalism. I will never go there again and will never recommend this facility. read more

Everything went OK with the procedure and they were friendly but when I picked up my dog I waited 45 mins for him to be brought out (after asking the reason for the long wait they woman I asked walked into the back and brought him out immediately) and when they did bring him out he had poop all over his butt and back legs. I have been boarding my dog Sadie at Coyne Veterinary Center in Crown Point pretty much since they opened last year. I always dropped her off on my way to the airport for her vaccines and what not, but this weekend I finally got in to meet her vet. Dr. Szalay saw Sadie for a potential dental issue, and he was very thorough. He walked me through all of my options and gave me great feedback on what to expect with each. He was honest and helpful rather than running her through a myriad of tests and trying to charge me more. I recently signed up for their wellness plans and am so glad I did-I've already saved a couple hundred dollars, and only been in the program for a couple of months. I would recommend the wellness plans to all pet owners, because it takes away all excuses to get your baby in at the first sign of a potential issue. Had I not had the plan, I probably wouldn't have gone in as quickly as I did this weekend. It's affordable and a no-brainer. The environment is very clean, and the building is beautiful. The front office staff is helpful, some more than others, but all in all it was a great visit. I also was able to meet Dr. Coyne, and his philosophy on pet medicine is why I originally chose to switch from my previous vet to Coyne Vet. I'm glad we have such a great animal hospital in Crown Point, and I'm glad that I made the switch! read more
