We waited 1 hours 35 for food at the BBQ, and that was after they made us wait 30 mins for a "kitchen break" to even order. This was Sunday night of the 4th of July weekend. One might think they would have expected people to be there, and there truly weren't that many people. When the food came, they got my order wrong and my chicken breast was as dry as my chelan sun burnt skin. They told my dad they were out of pork ribs but then let other later groups order them...when his steak ribs came there were 2 and the cashier told him there would be 5. read more

Rude server. Granted, we were not dressed very well tonight and had our elderly mother with dementia with us - perhaps it appeared that we wouldn't spend much. We had actually hoped to grab some food, taste a variety of wines, and purchase a few bottles to share with friends arriving over the next several weeks. Our guest hoped to pick up a few things in the gift shop. We waited near the counter patiently. The server tended to others and told us to hang on at least three times (we were not being pushy or asking anything at all). When I asked whether there was wine tasting outside he replied that there was..... 'inside and on the porch'. We thanked him and continued to wait. Then he said that we should go wait outside and he'd come out to help us. We never indicated that this was what we had decided upon. We did go out, sat down, and waited, waited, and waited....then just left. We probably won't return or bring guests there anymore. Additionally, the sign on door mandated masks. Inside, hardly anyone wore a mask and none of the employees or servers were masked...poor societal and professional integrity.....either follow your guidance (and the Governor's) or remove the signage. read more

This place is amazing!! The service is great, the food comes out quickly, and the scenery is beautiful. The reason that I gave this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because two members of my family ordered BBQ tri-tip steak, and both steaks came cooked very differently. The menu says medium rare but one steak was wayyyy overdone, and the other was underdone. Other than that, everything else was amazing! It's such a cute place and it is a good experience! Definitely would recommend...just specify how you want your steak cooked. :) read more

Very taste-y wines! Excellent service, lots of options, and very cute store with things like salsa, bbq sauce, home decor, and of course wine! They sell very old vintages (think 2006 Merlot) and also what they are currently serving. Wines were very reasonably priced, and 4 tastings are complimentary! We left with a bottle of the Falling Cow Red - which was not only delicious, but also had a super cute label and also a fun story behind the name! This was probably one of my favorite stops while in town for the weekend. Know this if you wanna go here: yelp and foursquare directions will lead you astray! Instead head towards Manson as though you are going to Benson Vineyards- Lake Chelan Winery sits right at the bottom of the road to Benson, off the the main road between Chelan and Manson. Okay, so enough with the directions. I had a coupon for free tastings at this spot and $3 off a bottle of wine via a Living Social escape deal. The tasting included a fair number of wines (4-5 if I remember correctly), and included their hard cider, which I liked so much I bought it ($12 minus the $3 made it only $9). In addition, you can pick up a lot of souvenir foodie items, and try some great cheeses. They had some great deals on cases (50% off) while I was there, and were willing to sell at the case price to multiple party members as long as it added up to a case. Really reasonable prices for high quality wines and very fun, down to earth people here. read more

This place is great. We love coming here every time we're in Lake Chelan. The menu isn't huge, but my son swears by the chicken and mac & cheese combo he creates himself ala carte and the rest of us love the ribs. You can buy their wine by the bottle and enjoy it outside on the lawn in and among grape vines. With COVID restrictions, they are providing all food in to go containers, have all their tables socially distanced (and it's an outside establishment) and require everyone to wear masks. They have clean lines and one way systems to help people distance. The staff is really helpful, and the wine is great. Super relaxing way to have a good meal after a long day on the lake. read more

My wife is a member here and has always enjoyed their wine. The gift shop changes regularly so always worth walking through while you sip wine. They also put in a TV and have sports on for your viewing pleasure. I'm not a wine drinker and go to all the wineries with my wife and this one is good for sitting around and relaxing. This place has changed. You have to order your very expensive food upfront, like at a cafeteria. You have to pick up your own trays of food at a pick up table. It looked like everyone was busing there own tables too, so that's what we did. All in all, a much different experience from years past, and, sadly, we won't be going back. read more

There are what... five dozen wineries in the Chelan valley? So you need something to set yourself apart. They've done that. The biggest is the BQQ in the summer. It's a lot of fun, and a great atmosphere (between the rows of grape vines). They also have a very good selection of wines. And are, to my knowledge, the only winery that doesn't charge for (limited) tasting. Enjoy! read more

Sadly this was the last place we went to in Lake Chelan before we had to go home but it ended on a great note. There were about 10 people total and met some great people here who were also wine tasting (and they were tipsy but very pleasant to talk to). Bob was working and was letting us try all sorts of wine. My favorite red was a the falling cow but then another lady who just signed up for their wine club said I had to try the rose which I did and was very tempted to get a bottle until Bob said I had to try the falling cow white. I really liked the falling cow white and ended up getting a bottle of that. They also have a cheese shop inside which is cool. One of the drunk ladies got cheese curds and kept on having us try it but it does go well with the wine. I recommend the cheese curds. read more

We visited the winery for dinner on a summer Sunday night. We were a party of three adults and two children. The restaurant is an outdoor venue set amongst the vineyard. The parking was convenient and close. The seating is mostly covered and picnic tables. There were a few tables with chairs as well. We chose the picnic tables and it was difficult for the senior in our group to swing her legs under the table. Had she said something we should probably should have chose a table with chairs. Cushions for the benches would be a nice touch. We were there on a hot evening, there was a large fan blowing near the entrance but ceiling fans would have helped. We ordered our drinks and the complimentary cornbread was at a self serve station. Nice touch as we were a hungry bunch. Our party ordered a bottle of white wine (refreshing), ribs, burger, salad, and portabelllo burger. Most entrees came with choice of bean, coleslaw, or salad. We were seated near the open kitchen and it was a little unappetizing to see flies landing on our food as we waited for it to be delivered. Not sure what can be done about that given that it is an outside venue.... The vineyard has a lawn for children to play on as well as a vineyard maze. Many of the customers were taking advantage of the outdoor area to keep young children active. The food was ok, nothing really special but the setting seems to boost up the prices. Portions were decent as well. The vineyard was worth it to check out but the next time I visit the Lake Chelan area I want to try another one of the wineries. read more

Love this place!! Not really a wine person but my family and I tried wine tasting to find something to gift a family friend. The staff was really informative and recommended a good wine for us to take home! My favorite part here was their BBQ! Wine was yummy and views were amazing but the BBQ was expensive and looked like a dinner that you would get on a long haul flight. The salad looked like the kind that you grab out the fridge at the grocery store plastic container and all. The cornbread was tiny and tasted like absolutely nothing. Cost $100+ for dinner 5 people and 2 didn't even get entrees and that's not counting wine. We will not be returning. read more

Our summer vacations in Chelan have always ended with dinner at the Lake Chelan Winery. We just returned from Chelan and with GREAT disappointment we will not be returning to the restaurant. The quality and quantity of the food was not even mediocre. Our two sides we got with our meal came in plastic tartar sauce containers, my Granddaughters Caesar salad was at best something from a convenience store in a small plastic bowl, my Grandson was starving and went back to our condo to eat leftover pizza. After visiting few wineries here at Chelan, including the so called top rated, I still like the Lake Chelan Winery best. Not only because the tasting is free, but also because the wines are at the best quality. The staff are extremely friendly, and will share you the story of the falling cow. In general, it's a small boutique vineyard that produces best quality of wines. read more

The kids love to run up the hill to the cow, service can be slow during these times so be nice, be patient and come to relax. Yep. It's a 5 star in my book. Amazing vineyard with an even more amazing view overlooking lake Chelan. Stopped in this past weekend with the husband for some one on one time wine tasting. This was our second time in and it took my breath away all over again. The staff is always friendly, helpful and knowledgeable in the art of wine. We do a tasting then usually purchase a few bottles for our collection at home. I say collection but they usually don't last that long in my house ;-) The vineyard, if you're using gps, is a bit further than where the gps actually takes you on the map. So if you come to a fork in the road and it says the vineyard is right there but it's clearly not just keep going. You will see signs pointing you in the right direction. There is outdoor seating or plenty of chairs in the inside if you don't want to sit out. We sat out on the balcony overlooking the beautiful vineyard and lake Chelan with a glass of wine enjoying the 80 plus degree weather. This place is beautiful. If you're doing a wine tour, you HAVE to make this place one of your stops. You won't be sorry. read more

Note: this review is for the gift shop only, not the actual winery or orchards here. Also, ideally I'd rate this shop 3.5 stars but since that is not an option, I'm rounding up. Driving from Lake Chelan to Manson, the signs for this winery and gift shop on the side of the road caught my eye, so we decided to check it out. And we were so glad we did! This is a wonderful, large gift shop, chock full of goodies and treats of all sorts. I literally could have spent a good hour in here or more (if my family would let me. Which they don't. Hahhaha). At any rate, the store interior is large and warm, with lots of warm woods and wine/grape-oriented décor. In other words, it's exactly what one would expect from a shop in a winery. The ambiance is very welcoming. There's a wonderful little cheese shop in the corner (see my review on this separate fromagerie/cheese shop, the Lake Chelan Cheese shop), and the lady working that area was friendly and helpful. We explored the whole store. As expected, there were a lot of wines for sale, with a ton of accessories and wine-related home décor items. Sure, there were lots of tchotchkes, too, but many were cute and could serve as fun gift ideas for folks who are into wine. There were beautiful gift baskets full of wine items, and gourmet foods, too. Lots of high-end, fancy crackers and biscuits (that go with wine, of course!), and accompanying spreads and jams and dips, and lots of wonderful candies (we couldn't resist some fabulous black licorices and sea salt caramels! Sooooo good!). Then there's the rest of the store: house accents (little sculptures, metal signs, candle holders and candles, lotions and potions and soaps, etc), and a ton of women's costume jewelry up front, and more. Some garden décor items. Some t-shirts. More jewelry in the back. There is so much to explore. There is an area in the store devoted to dining, like a small café or bistro, with plush upholstered chairs and small tables. I'm not sure what they serve but it was cute. They had complimentary coffee for the taking and we enjoyed a few cups (nice!). This place also offers complimentary wine tastings, too, I might add. I gather this is a big draw. And I think I heard a counter clerk say they offer 4 or 5 glasses of tastings, all complimentary, which is a rarity in the area. So that might be worth exploring, for your wine-lovers out there! I loved all the gorgeous wooden serving boards/cheese boards for sale. Just beautiful! So why, you may ask, am I not giving a solid 5 stars to such a fabulous shop? It boils down to customer service. We were not greeted when we came into the store, no one asked us if we needed help finding anything, and we had a hard time getting someone to help up when we were ready to purchase our items. There was a lady at the front counter talking to a small group of folks who already made their purchases. We went to the attached counter in the back (this counter winds around to the back, and there's another cash register there). Despite another store employee seeing us waiting there to pay for our items, she didn't come over to help us or even acknowledge us in any way. After about 4-5 minutes of waiting, we wandered to the front counter again where the lady was still talking to the other group, just chatting away. We waited another 3 minutes or so and I was seriously considering just leaving our stuff and leaving (it was just a few gourmet candies, after all. No big purchases). Finally this lady broke away from chatting with the group to help us. She rang us up and then, after doing so, said she'd have to ring us up again at another cash register (I forget the reason. Perhaps because we were paying with cash and not a debit card), so we went to a third register closer to the front of the store, where she rang up all our items again and we finally paid and left. This lady was friendly and nice and all, but man, purchasing items shouldn't take over 10 minutes and be such an ordeal. My suggestion for this winery shop would be to please get more sales staff and please be more attentive to your customers in the store, as you have wonderful merchandise and folks like me would love to return and refer you to our friends and family! I'm surprised by the poor reviews for Lake Chelan Winery. On our first visit, we found the wine to be good, and the tastings were free. The gal who helped us with our tastings was really nice and helpful. There is a pleasant retail space in the tasting room, but nowadays that is pretty standard for wineries. We came back the next day because they were having a live band and BBQ, and with the weather being so nice we decided to check it out. The slow roasted/smoked pork ribs were the best I've ever had (pretty bold statement right there). The band was fun and lively, and the wine we ordered was reasonably priced and good. Overall we had a BLAST. There were families everywhere and the kids were having such a good time dancing to the music and running through the vineyards. I thought it was the perfect night and the young staff was super nice and accommodating. read more

A group of us (seven) came to visit for a tasting and hopefully stay for the dinner BBQ as we saw advertised out front. Inside we were greeted right away and asked if we were there for tasting. We said yes, and were given menus. We were told there was a four free tasting limit. After the second tasting, we asked about the food, if they were serving (it was around 7pm). The woman serving us curtly replied, "Oh no. No food. We don't do that here." Confused by the answer (hello, big sign for bbq outside)and upset by the woman's tone, my friend went outside to see what was up. Turns out the woman blatantly lied to us. Yes there was a bbq! They serve every day from 4-8pm. We didn't stick around to try the bbq. Enough was enough and we left. With seven our group, they could've easily had made a couple hundred dollars between bottles of wine and dinner. We ended up down the road at Wapato Point Cellars where we had a wonderful service, great wines, and excellent food. read more

I can't believe I haven't written a review of LCW. This is usually our first stop of our wine tour when I host out of state friends and family. The winery sits on hwy 150 on a slight curve. If you're coming from Chelan and don't know what you're looking for, you'll drive right past it. Speed is not the issue, as everyone and their mother is staring at the lake and going 25 on a 45. The winery is an old apple shed that still retains some of that old rustic charm. The owners do a great job of creating events for tourist and also have outdoors seating for their well-known barbecues. I can't say I've been here for the live music or the bands. I'm sure it's a lot of fun, but what I have been here for the wine. I'd have to say my personal favorite is the Pinot Grigio. Other notable wines are their River Bend Estate Syrah and Pinot Noir. My favorite grape is the Viognier and they have a 2008 I haven't tasted. Reasonable prices in comparison to other wineries in the valley. This was the first winery in the valley, so another reason to check them out. read more

Disappointing. We came on my birthday and specifically wanted to go on the wine tour. Lillion helped us and we told him an hour before the tour we were interested and it was the main reason we came. He started our tasting and then proceeded to start two others groups in the middle of ours and left us waiting over twenty minutes between tastings. We ordered cheese to go with our tasting but finished the entire tray before he ever came back to tell us about the next wine. When it came time for the tour he told us he sent the tour guide home telling him no one was interested and thought we wouldn't enjoy it. He then proceeded to tell us how lame the tour would be anyways. Terrible experience compared to the rest of the wineries in the area. read more

Lovely place for a nice bbq lunch! The lovely Chelan air and the scenery make you feel like you are in an Italian vineyard enjoying great wine. The smell of barbecue reminds you of great American food! My boyfriend and I ordered the Angus burger with cold slaw and beans. It was all very good. The only things we weren't crazy about were the limited lunch menu, the fact that we had to wait a bit for the food and it seemed a tad overpriced. The ambiance and views balanced everything out to make an enjoyable experience. read more

I can't say enough wonderful things about this winery. The wine is extremely good, and the Chelan Gold Cider is a huge bonus. The family that runs this winery is very friendly and knows what they are doing! The gift shop has so many fun things to look at and purchase. I could spent hours here looking at everything! Incredible! This is an outside BBQ joint with the big grill going with smoke, flames, and juicy BBQ goodness. We had a group of 5, and we ordered all over the menu. Salmon, Ribs, Bratwurst, Shrimp, Salad, Chicken, Bean, Coleslaw, Cornbread, and WINE! This is one of the few restaurants outside of the Seattle area that serves Red Hook Ale. Served COLD. I mean COLD !!!! Perfect when you're eating outside and it's hot. However, we also ordered a bottle of Maximum Meritage red. DELICIOUS! All the food is incredible. Nothing fancy. Basic food. Basic Goodness! You want a combo? It's not on the menu? They don't care! Make any combo you want! Ok.... the baked beans. Usually, I'm not a fan. They make me a little flatulent. :-/ Who cares! I love BFF adventures, especially when I get to experience it in a lovely setting, its a place I've never been and I can enjoy some great drinks and food. We checked out another winery before popping in here...After he told me how good their bbq was, I practically demanded that we drove the ten miles back to Manson to check it out. First, I love how family oriented it is. We were warmly greeted as we walked in and invited to try out their tasting. You get four choices for free which was awesome seeing that we just paid for the same at another winery. We loved the story of the falling cow, make sure you ask them about it while you're there. The lady who helped us (don't remember her name) was warm and welcoming. I could've sworn we had known her for years as she asked tons of questions about us and what we were up to. It made the tasting so much more enjoyable....We ended up buying a bottle of their Shiraz---pretty pricey but it was well worth every penny for the conversation and experience! The bbq was awesome, they have it behind the winery so you get a cool peekaboo peek at Chelan...It wasn't terribly busy so we were able to just to sit and talk nonsense. Definitely one of the finer BFF moments. He ordered the grilled shrimp which was perfectly salty and garlic-y. Yum. I got the bbq sandwich. We ordered a few more glasses of wine and just hung out. It was a great close to another BFF adventure! I'll come back in a heartbeat if I'm ever in the area again. read more
