Now called Lagorio Hay. Now owned by a cousin. Great place! I can trust the hay! Have been buying for 4 years now.

Whoever the ignorant girl working yesterday 6/16 between 1:25-2pm when I was there, I hope I never…read morecome across your whack customer service again! She asked me "did you find everything you needed" I said no because whatever I grab the price is incorrect and I got frustrated. I got tired of asking the gentleman in the back to scan and i took photos! Even he said "this is odd to see nothing matching on this shelf" and he disappeared.. All she said and kept saying was "ok" "what do you mean everything" I said from yard aisle to pet section! She said "ok" I found hummingbird stuff under $1.99 and when the guy scanned it, it was $18.99. I found a plant hook under $7.99, when he scanned it, it was $23.99. Completely doesn't not even match the price tag, keep in mind they are all stocked under that price. Talking about ignorance! Instead of devoting time and wanting my money at this store, she seems very careless and lazy! It's absolutely disgusting behavior to be present to at the register! If you don't like what you do, maybe you shouldn't be at the register. Employee definitely needs training how to be welcoming, I come here often for vet appointments on Sundays and because it's around the corner from our house we shop here a lot, but no thanks after yesterday! Fix your price tags!! It wasn't just one thing, it was many errors! You technically are supposed to honor to customer what I see and have a proof! If your manager needs photos I have them and would be more than happy to talk to your manager!

Do not purchase hens from Modesto Feed without looking at them carefully. On April 12, 2024, my…read morehusband and I purchased 8 hens ($15 each) that were approximately 4 1/2 months old. I asked the owner if I could view and select the hens first, and I received a grumble in return. As I was paying for the chickens and feeders, he was already on the way to our truck and loading the chickens into the kennel we brought. I didn't get to study them closely beforehand as I had asked. By the time we got them home (Angels Camp) and into the chicken yard, I realized that most of them had runny "noses." I was hopeful that our brand new coop, new feeders, new dust bath, new everything, and the 400 sq ft foraging yard with healthy organic sprouting grains would nurse them back to health. One and a half weeks later, the first hen died. When I called to speak to the owner, he simply said, "chickens die." Five month old chickens? I asked where I could get a necropsy to find out the exact cause of death. The owner gave me some info but didn't seem interested in the cause of death, even though they were sick when I purchased them. In May, three more of my precious chickens passed--all birds that had been eating and drinking well, and playing chicken games. I will call the owner again to inform him that I will be submitting today's dead chicken for a necropsy. He should be concerned about the quality of the poultry he is selling.
