Well, recently I was able to hire Brittany for my own personal celebrations and experiencing their work as a client/guest was a whole new level of being dazzled by their work/art. Starting from menu planning and coordination, I felt genuinely cared for at every turn. The staff was exquisite with their attention to us on both events from how they cared for our guests, to how they artfully packed up the leftovers, I was impressed at every level. I haven't even mentioned how my guests were raving over the food, even the hand crafted mocktails were Top Shelf. I had heard of them before because a friend used them for their wedding, and since I plan events for a living, I've worked with a lot of caterers. For my own event though, price mattered a lot, but I still wanted really good food. After reaching out to a bunch of places, I went with Havana because I had tried their food before and their pricing was very reasonable. We ordered full trays of adobo chicken, lechon roasted pork, crispy tofu, paella, sofrito rice, black beans, corn, poblano mac and cheese, and plantains. I did bring in one dish from another restaurant, Jamaican oxtail, just because I know my guests are big foodies. The biggest hits from Havana were definitely the poblano mac and cheese, lechon, and the paella. Honestly, the mac and cheese was the standout. Everyone kept going back for it and I wish I had ordered an extra tray. What really stood out to me though was the delivery experience. The driver called me ahead of time, brought everything in, and set it all up. He opened the trays with gloves, added sauces, arranged everything nicely, and even put out utensils and labels. I've had plenty of catering deliveries before and this was easily one of the best. He was just genuinely kind and went above and beyond, and it made a big difference. Overall, everything went smoothly, the food was great, and I would definitely order from them again.

The saffron rice is also good, though some more oil would be nice. They also offer extreme contrast of flavors - a side of pickled cabbage that's really tart and a single jalapeño pepper that's spicy for me. Definitely plan to try some of their other offerings. I recently hired SImple Elegance for our first holiday party in our home and it was the best decision ever. I worked with Amber, who was lovely - super on top of all communication and very patient with all of my questions leading up to the event. She arrived on time for set-up, and brought the most delicious food for our event with perfect little signs and menus for our guests. We served appetizers at 5pm and dinner at 6pm, and Amber assured me that the food would stay warm for both courses on the sternos and equipment provided and she was absolutely right. The food was warm for HOURS at the party, which made everyone want to go back for 2nds and 3rds. They make clean-up so easy too where all you have to do is empty out the equipment and make sure there isn't any food inside, no washing or rinsing required. Portions were super generous and the food was sooo yummy. We have a bunch of really good chefs in our friend group and honestly, everyone was super impressed. My favorite items on the menu were the fiesta chicken endive salad, loaded potato bites, pretzel bites, goat cheese and sundried tomato crostinis, chicken breast in sundried tomato sauce, garlic mashed potatoes, and the pan seared tenderloin tips (basically our whole menu LOL). We also had a kids menu with butter noodles, fruit, and bread, and at the last minute (a few days before the event) I asked Amber if she could add in a hot cocoa bar for the kids. I ended up ordering a glass of their Cabernet Sauvignon for $5.00. It actually turned out quite decent in taste. Glass was just a little dirty on the outside. For food, I ordered the Sourdough Crusted Chicken Breast with Bearnaise Sauce over a Rice Pilaf for $9.75. The dish was presented deliciously appealing. The Sourdough Crusted chicken along with the sauce, was quite tasty. Sauce could had been a bit hotter, though it was still creamy, tasteful and complemented the crusted chicken perfectly. The rice pilaf was unfortunately too dry however, I really enjoyed the dried cranberries mixed within it. The ceasar salad it came with was also enjoyable.
