Went for dinner last night with a few friends, this place was recommended by my family and it did not disappoint. It has a very cute chic Baja Cali vibe, lots of white and bright colors. There's two swinging chairs near the entrance that look great to sit and enjoy drinks, but I wouldn't want to eat in a swinging chair. Our waiter was very nice, explained the menu etc, good service. I got the two tacos with beans and rice - the carnitas taco and the shrimp taco. My friend got the same but with mushroom and shrimp. My other friend got the birria fajitas. All of our food was delicious. I did prefer the carnitas to the shrimp taco, but the shrimp was still good! The carnitas had a little bit of everything - the juicy meat, the cheese crumbles, the lime, a little kick in there. Overall delicious. Okay this is actually the last time I will come here. If you see my previous review, this place literally can't get it right, even once. It's such a shame because we live in the neighborhood and the food is great but the service is actually unforgivable. The straw that broke the camels back for us what today. We walked in and got sat. I walked to the restroom and saw a female employee bent over in the back with the back door propped open throwing up and coughing. I walk back to my table and the girl puking out back is my server(Hailey). She literally looks ill and was very out of it when she greeted us. She asked us for drinks and we politely declined. She then disappeared for 10 minutes and when she came back she asked us for drinks again?? She dropped off chips and salsa and had her two dirty looking bandaid fingers touching the chips. Our food took 35 minute for two tacos. Between the actual health and safety concern of seeing my server(Hailey) puking, her coughing all around the dining room, her gross bandaid fingers, and her crappy attitude.... I wish the worst for this establishment. Why they continue to allow this level of service is beyond me and I simply cannot give them my money. read more

I've been here multiple times, twice in the last month. Always blown away by the food and service! Dishes are really inspired and original. My current favorite is the Chicken Tinga bowl..... fantastic dish with guacamole , crema, pickled onion, spicy beans, cotija. Would like more variety for dessert.... just a Mexican chocolate ice cream or cherry would be great. I love the atmosphere.... and worth making a reservation if you have a chance. read more

Drinks: I started with the Elderflower Prickly Pear margarita, it was surprisingly refreshing, not as sweet as most pear drinks I've ordered. More elderflower and less pear for sure. B had the house margarita, he said it was okay but didn't finish it. It is a batched drink, so probably pretty standard. Painkiller was a yummy surprise, usually a go-to when traveling on cruise ships. The drink itself was in a fun glass and it was as creamy and delicious as expected. Starter: Street corn was delicious, large enough portion for 2, no complaints. Lunch: The carnitas street taco was super stuffed with pork, I only needed one after the corn. ItIt has a great mild flavor and was perfectly portioned. B ordered the tamales, it was a giant plate of food, with rice, beans but the red sauce had a serious smokey flavor that I think you'll either love or wish you had ordered differently. We left it much too long to visit Lady Nomada! (The name always reminds me of The Beatles' "Lady Madonna".) Jim was our server and he's absolutely the best! He gave us a tour of the menu and suggestions based on our dietary restrictions. I enjoyed my mushroom taco, my husband liked his cheese enchiladas, and our son loved his kid's taco with fries. The black beans were heavenly. The salsas were delicious, although the tortilla chips were shattered into small pieces, making it a little difficult to scoop up the deliciousness. I'd definitely come back here, but I'd love to see more gluten free and vegan options. (Perhaps sweet potato, cauliflower, or eggplant tacos?) Lady Nomada is a fun place to stop in for happy hour. They have a nice selection of beverages and bites. Our waitresses were great at checking in to be sure we had everything we needed. I went with their Grande House Margarita which is a deal at $8 on HH. You wouldn't think by drinking it, but it has quite a tequila kick. All of their salsas and sauces were amazing - especially their salsa roja, guajillo ranch, and red chile sauce. Fish was perfectly fried/crispy, but overall, it was not a great Baja-style fish taco. Overly spicy, with red chilis + the sauce (coming from a spice LOVER) so it overpowered all other flavors. Should be more delicate. Anyway! The drinks all sound great, interior aesthetic is quirky and fun, and some of the other vegetarian and pescatarian items look like good choices so if I come back, I'll try those. Lady Nomada is a hit! Alex, our server, was excellent with our large group and the restaurant boasts loads of ambiance with lively decor and hip music. The food is delicious too. Tacos can be purchased individually and I really liked the ceviche. I love this spot in Olde Town where it feels like you've entered a trendy mexican high end restaurant right in Arvada. The chips and salsa are delicious, but don't fill up on them because the tacos are super yummy. The shrimp taco and the fried avocado tacos are highlights for me. Teocalli has been my go-to for a sit down Mexican spot, but my husband and I decided to take his parents here today to try it out. The Good: - very cute interior! Can't argue with this - Pozole was tasty with a generous amount of pork - carne asada fries are good. Nice char on the steak and love that the fries are boat shaped so it's easy to scoop up the toppings The Okay: - the birria tacos were not bad and overall enjoyable though not quite authentic - fajitas had nice roasted bell peppers and meat was decent The bad: - chips salsa and guacamole - How could such basic things at a Mexican restaurant be bad, you ask? The guac and salsa were very bland both in flavor and texture. Chips were so thin that they kept breaking under the weight of a small amount of salsa each time it was being scooped - fajita accompaniments aside from the bell peppers were also very bland - service - it started out okay but we felt quite neglected the second half. Water refills did not happen until we kept trying to flag down the server. It took a while for us to get a to go box and then took a while again for us to be able to flag down the server to ask for the check. It's important to note that more than half the restaurant was empty. Summary: overall I was disappointed but there were still some highlights. I will stick with Teocalli as my go-to. read more

I love finding new, awesome, unique places to eat. When that place serves tacos, even better. My wife and I shared a few dishes, the carne asada fries and the potato taquitos. I love fries, so this dish was right up my alley. The potatoes are freshly made, and a lot are in the shape of a small cup or spoon. Not sure how to describe. But really different. Lots of tender carne, guacamole, pickled onions, etc. It's definitely a huge portion. I feel like something was missing, though, flavor-wise. Maybe the potatoes needed salt, and maybe some salsa/spicy ketchup. It needed some oomph. The whipped potato taquitos with asadero cheese? Heavenly and a flavor bomb! Highly recommend this appetizer. Just get your own plate and save having to share. I had ONE Birria taco; my wife had one fish taco. I emphasize ONE, because never in my life have I paid FIVE DOLLARS and FIFTY cents for a taco. It was Birria, so I thought it would be worth it, but TBH, my Birria is just as good. My wife loved her taco, also $5.50. The thing that I found really misleading, and the reason I gave 3 stars, was the price for tacos on the menu. At the top, you see: one taco $4. Yet as you work your way down the list of tacos, there are 3 out of the 9 choices that are $4. The rest add on $1.50 or $2.50. There is no reason on this planet to charge that much for ONE taco. Finished the meal with sopaipillas and ice cream. Pretty darn tasty. The staff was super friendly, the atmosphere is great! I'll definitely go back for the taquitos, and I'm intrigued by the Chile relleno, but not for a $5.50 taco. read more

Our group of 17 was in town for a football game. I needed a spot to host a luncheon and our hotel recommended Lady Nomada! It was a perfect choice. When I called to book they were friendly and excited to host us. The area is so cute and quaint. Lots to walk around and see. They pre-set appetizers and drinks so it was ready to go when we arrived. The food came out quickly and was so delicious! They were so great, the service was fantastic and the ambiance was light and a very relaxing setting. Step foot inside Lady Nomada and your memory will be wiped clean of its Arvada stomping grounds. The gorgeous build out was meticulously planned and it shows. Little decorative touches around the restaurant transport you to a California beachside taqueria. Lady Nomada's strongest asset are its coastal vibes! With that said, food and drink are on point, too. A chef-driven menu with large plates, appetizers, tacos and more. It's focused and concise rather than overwhelming like many traditional Mexican restaurants. Lady Nomada fuses delightfully between the two, hitting the nail on the head when it comes to Baja-style cuisine. The absolute standout dish in my opinion is the Carne Asada Fries. Geared more toward sharing, however if you're smart you'll keep these all to yourself. It's loaded with skirt steak, guacamole, crema, onion, and cilantro, all atop a bed of perfectly cooked potatoes. The potatoes are fantastic on their own, adding all the additional components takes this to an interstellar experience. It's addicting! I've sampled some other dishes previously and I don't think you'll find anything that will let you down. Fajitas are great if you're feeling like dinner and a show, the ceviche is beautifully presented and the queso is BANGING. I'd say drinks are good, not great. However for a trendy spot like Lady Nomada, they are priced appropriately and prepared quickly. I'm a Paloma-junkie, and though it hits the spot, I wish the toned down the agave flavor. Just too sweet for me, but again, that's a personal preference! BONUS shout out to the staff working on Valentine's Day. After an abysmal experience nearby where we had reservations, we stumbled into Lady Nomada hoping for a Hail Mary. The hostess was dealing with an intrusive customer and handled the situation like a total pro. She encouraged us to snag the last two seats at the bar and the bartenders were working fast and efficiently. PRO TIP* yes, you can order from the dinner menu at the bar! Came here for lunch with friends. One friend had already been before so, she knew exactly what to order. We shared the fries and the street corn, both I highly recommend and could probably have eaten both as a meal. I got the Baja fish taco which was unexpectedly way too spicy. Usually love this place, but have had two strange expierences as of late. Yesterday we were in for a Bithday dinner with a large group, and we went through our entire dinner without being told by our waitress that all day Sunday is happy hour until on our way out when we were speaking to some friends who brought it up. We were charged full price for everything even with it being happy hour. That is bad business, not sure how or why that happened. Food was pretty good, but had to send my fish taco back because there was literally a one inch piece of fish on a tortilla covered in lettuce. I have eaten here enough times to know a decent portion of fish is supposed to be on each. Bummer. read more

One of my favorite things about Lady Nomada is the decor, the bright, festival interior and fabulous space inside. It's massive and has several cozy seating options. We did drinks, chips and salsa at first and then caved and ordered. I had fish tacos ($13) and later ordered the carne asada plate ($25) to go. Food was good but overpriced for portion sizes. Not sure we'd return for food. See the pics. You'll see what I mean. My Paloma and house Marg were fabulous. Our service was also on point: attentive and friendly. Overall take away: totally a HH place for us. My entree food bill: 3 fish tacos + carne asada plate = $38 bucks. Overpriced for portion sizes. Ugh. Lesson learned. It's definitely a hipster spot and I was a bit disappointed to see most of the art were blonde/white women so, more Cali vibes than Baja Cali vibes. The queso app was definitely a mix between Tex-mex and Colo-Mex...white cheese with green hatch green chilies. The fish tacos though...OOF. That was the nail in the coffin. My family lives and breathes fish tacos. The flavor was there but the single tortilla? Immediately no, immediately no. That thing fell apart 2 bites in. We came for dinner an hour before the restaurant closed and the hostess and waitress seemed really irritated about us being there. I think there was some issues between staff but it definitely hindered the service. Our waitress quickly told us she was ready to go home with an attitude. I actually looked up the restaurant hours to make sure we hadn't sat down right at closing, but I think an hour before close time is reasonable to sit down for a quick bite. Our food arrived cold and my Baja fish was drastically over cooked. We asked if it could be reheated and if the Baja could be re-made; the server who took over our section due to our original sever going on a break was very nice and had all of our food remade instead. The Baja fish taco was again drastically over cooked, it was inedible. Everything else was okay... flavor was pretty basic, and oddly our second round of food was again not hot? After venturing to the local farmer's market, we found our tummies grumbling. Having heard the buzz on Lady Nomada, we opted to dine in for lunch - which proved to be the best decision! This little slice of urban paradise has ample street parking, located super close to the lightrail, has a killer outdoor patio, and a great view! ++ A relaxed, chill and colorful vibe! The space features a wide variety of seating options, a full long bar and dining room seating near the wide-open windows! The colorful mural on the wall and thoughtful touches throughout the space, create a cozy, relaxed and allllllll the coastal vibes! So cute! ++ Wonderful staff! We were greeted by a friendly hostess who brought us to a table in the side dining area near the windows. Our server approached us shortly after, brought our drinks in a flash, made excellent recommendations and made for a nice experience. ++ Delicious cocktails & eats! We opted to start with a round of chips and salsa (with their 3 different salsas!) and house margaritas, which were the perfect mixture of Tequila, fresh lime, orange liqueur, agave - packing a tart punch but delicious! Being that I love all things seafood, I quickly jumped on ordering the Nomada Double Dekcer which was stocked full of Arbol honey grilled shrimp, pico de gallo, and guacamole served in hard and soft shell - YUM! My mother-in-law opted for the Baja Fish Tacos while my husband settled on the Fajitas with a combination of 3 meats - chicken, shrimp and short rib. The plates were considered family sharing but honestly my husband can eat one plate by himself. The carne asada was well taken care of with delicious but spicy peppers on the side and tasty sauce. The snapper was good, but spicy! Not bad for me and my husband but way too spicy for our little one. The snapper also needs a carb, so we asked for a side of tortillas.
