It becomes a FRIZZ-head when not properly cut and shaped. More I like my Red hair LONG. This was indeed a challenge for Me, the first meeting of a new stylist! Melanie is the most appeasing and soothing person, with a Gentle touch. Redheads are known for their sensitivity and RED Temper, contradictions! Melanie, when she washed my hair, her fingers touched my tender head with thorough "Merciful" fingers, then converged through my long FRIZZ hair. It has been over a decade of years since I could find an "adequate" hair stylist, more a knowledgeable Stylist who is not daunted by curly fizzy hair. Soothing and comforted.....what a great combination. MIRACLES do happen! More, I wanted to keep all that hair long as possible, HUGE CHALLENGE!! Melanie did not flinch instead - confidence exuded; she knows how to create miracles. Asked questions, mapped out her skills with her shampoos, conditioners and scissors. Melanie is soft spoken, likes to laugh, and when I sat in her chair, with my Service Dog whom Melanie was very wise and accommodating, bringing my Service Dog a beautiful soft blanket for her to lie on. What great treatment. Melanie washed and conditioned my hair and trimmed all the RED FRIZ away and still I have longish hair. I can't say enough about my experience. When entering the warm Hether's Salon, I was immediately greeted, sat in a comfy chair, allowed to be quiet, (this is so nice of them cuz of my Sweet beautiful Service Dog draws attention!) Hether's and Melanie are Keepers, they understand and perfect hair, they Listen to their customer needs. Lots of parking on the streets, and lots of stores and possibly some good eats around Arvada after some comfy treatment. Hether's is conveniently located on frontage street, when arriving you are in for a Treat!! Thank you Melanie!!! My photos continue to not upload, I truly wish to show off the fabulous cut Melanie professionally accomplished Bummer!!

I'm astounded at the level of unprofessionalism I experienced in this interaction simply because I complained about my end result. The stylist's opinion and feelings were placed over mine as the customer. I was told that because of the 'mini highlight' that I paid for, the color that resulted is due to the fact that I was not willing to pay for more. I would have been willing to pursue another color treatment had the stylist not acted so personally offended by my opinion and downright unprofessional (and childish.) She gaslit my personal opinion on my OWN HAIR and got so offended she blocked me. The epitome of not being valued or respected a customer! Go to this salon if you want your concerns dismissed, taken offense to, then blamed on you.

I'm giving this place a 2 only for the fact that the staff was super friendly…read more That's where the positive experience ended. My appointment was set for 2pm, so I arrived at 1:50. The nail lady was busy talking to other visitors and finishing the appointment ahead of me, making my appointment start 20 minutes after I had been in there! I purchased a groupon for a shellac and the variety of colors was all of 15, in shades of pink, orange, and red. How disappointing. After sitting roughly 45mins for the manicure she finishes and was about to send me on my way with two major lumps in the polish. I've had several shallac manicures and never seen someone manage to leave visible bumps in the polish. Ugh! after pointing them out she removes the shellac and redoes the two nails and at this point my irritation level is through the rough. 60 mins later she's finished... I looked at them and she had painted my cuticles, the skin around each finger, and even sealed the tips of my thumb to the skin. HORRIBLE MANICURE!!! I left her a $4 tip and went on my way. I'm so bummed I waited all this time to get an appointment and today I'm removing the shellac its so poorly done.

I bought a Groupon with Nichole. The appointment started off good. She helped me pick out a color…read moreto dye my hair.... and that was the extent of our conversation. I informed her I wanted to dye all my hair blonde so all the colors matched (I had different shades of blonde in my hair" and she responded with "you don't want to just keep it ombre? When it starts to grow out your roots will show." I said yes i know that's what i want. She quickly threw what I thought was bleach on my hair and moved on to the next client. She was working on multiple clients at a time and told me "we're going to play musical chairs" moving me and her other clients from chair to chair. When my hair was done she gave it a quick cut and style. I guess when a Groupon says a style is included they pick The style for you. She started curling my hair without asking if that's what i wanted (maybe if she spent more time talking to me than her other clients teenage daughter she would known what I wanted) I informed her if she's going to curl it I want light beach waves. I left looking like I was in the 70s with huge curls and orange roots. I told her I did not like the way she styled my hair and she just blankly stared at me until I got up to leave. The next day when I called and asked if we could put more toner in since my hair was two obviously different shades, which I clearly said I wanted it all to match, and she said she could add more toner in but it would change all the hair and "If you wanted your roots to match all your hair we would have to do a double process. I told you that. Your Groupon doesn't cover that" She never told me that. I know because I would have given her the go ahead for a double process. After arguing I finally got the extra money I put down for toner back but no offer to fix it. Only to add more toner that would ruin the blonde in my hair I did like. Don't put out a Groupon and then ignore your customers the whole time. That's how you build clientele. Not telling them "I only Do that for full paying customers not Groupon customers" when they request a certain color in their hair.

My first experience was with Rosie and Danielle helped with the last two visits. Both are very good and happy to assist with my requests. Being a male, it's not very common to have a perm, but my requests have been centered around roles in musicals, though I enjoy the look well after the productions are over. Having that extra body in the hair has been fun, something that I've not had for many years. As my wife can attest, I've had a number of different looks, but this was one of the biggest ones, even considering when going bald for charity for a number of years. That said, I've enjoyed the conversations with both these stylists. Both Rosie (one of the co-owners) and Danielle very personable and kind, to top off their skills behind the scissors. I also had my daughter get her hair cut by Danielle and she absolutely loved the result. The bob-cut was executed very well and has grown out very nicely to boot. Can't wait to get my wife in there for a new do!
