Lady Caroline is a Cleveland cruise devoted to dining and celebrations. The cruise offers individual tickets and private reservations. I joined a private cruise. I was expecting an elevated experience. Instead, I found my cruise severely lacking in service, dining, and overall experience. Amenities: The boat has newer interior than other local cruises, but a bit tacky casino vibes. Local skyline art and nautical carpet are nice touches. It is better and newer than other local no frills boats in terms of the decor. The boat is spacious - 3 floors, all with bars, indoor and outdoor sightseeing, and plenty of windows. I found that the second floor had the best views and many windows. During my cruise the third floor was DJ dance floor/VIP area. The first two floors were dedicated to dining guests. It was nice to have peace and quiet, dancing as needed. The boat well accommodated large amount of people leaving ample space for all. Cruise: The cruise is 2 to 3 hours. The sights are unmatched especially if you sail during the golden hour or sunset. Our private experience was 3 hours. The cruise goes into Lake Erie. It felt way too long. It would be great to have shorter options. Our cruise departed about 30 minutes late (perhaps due to the event policies). The boat was a very choppy experience even in mild weather. The experience is between $50-60 depending on whether you are have a private or regular cruise. Service: To be very straightforward the service is bad. Or at least it was bad during my cruise. While the tables are labeled, all food orders were confused, brought to wrong tables. This happened all night. Wait staff kept asking the same guests if the orders were theirs. That's despite all tables being clearly numbered. Ordering was available at the bars (one bar per level). Ticket check-in staff visibly checked out and commented on female guests' appearance in a disrespectful manner. One of the crew members approached me, asked if I'm cruising alone, inquired about my martial status, and was quite persistent. This is not the experience someone wants on a luxury cruise. It was the most disappointing and crude part of my planned peaceful experience. Food/Drinks: Our private cruise featured concession style food and no table-side service. I ordered chicken tenders ($11.50 for 6 pieces) and walking taco (Doritos bag with cheese, sour cream, lettuce, and salsa for $12.50). The chicken tenders were exceptionally dry. The walking taco lacking flavor. It definitely wasn't fine dining or even tasty concessions. All food choices were unexpectedly served in disposable plates and with disposable cutlery. The tables weren't cleared of plates. I cleaned my own table. Perhaps daytime food cruises have better dining options and dining services. There are plenty of complimentary non-alcoholic options such as water, iced tea, and coffee (decaf and caffeinated) that were available on the second level as self-serve. Other guests opted into alcoholic beverages, the menu looked extensive, and prices comparable to local restaurants. Parking: The boat is docked at the Nautica Pavilion. During events in the area it is virtually impossible to get to the venue. I waited in standstill traffic on the same street (less than a mile away from the Nautica Pavilion) for 30 minutes due to a concert, a large scale event, and two weddings. It was considerate of the Lady Caroline to post about possible traffic. Definitely check their site and any events at the Nautica Pavilion to plan your commute. Parking is available at the Nautica Pavilion. Be sure to notify them about your Lady Caroline cruise for a slight discount. Although the parking fees are unpredictable. I paid $6 for $25 event lot, nice discount. There are no set prices that you can plan for. Reservations: Reserve your cruise on the website - individual tickets or tours. I experienced just about every cruise, sailing, and boat experience in the city. This was not my favorite. Main reasons being food, service, and advances from the staff. To be frank, it's not worth the price. I hope that Lady Caroline can further improve, welcome Clevelanders and tourists to the marketed luxe experience. read more

For the second time there were mechanical issues preventing a cruise. Another time resulted in the inability of the ship to leave the dock. All three were disappointing. On the single trip where we actually ate, the food was virtually inedible. PLEASE do not waste your time booking a trip. You are unlikely to sail, or you will be given unpalatable food. After hearing a lot about Lady Caroline, we finally decided to try a dinner cruise. The ship itself is beautiful- four floors with an upper outdoor deck, nice decor, updated! it was wonderful to be on the lake and enjoy our beautiful natural resource. Other than that the dinner cruise is WAY overpriced (price does not include drinks) and not sure who the caterer is but it would be better to minimize the # of food options (don't need 3 types of mediocre meats) and have better QUALITY than quantity. Secondly, also recommend shortening the cruise .. make it 2 hour, offer better food (even just appetizers would be good) & lower the price .. too expensive and too long! Finally, there was no communication regarding the order of things. We were directed to our table immediately upon entering the ship and saw everyone rushing to get their salad at the buffet line as soon as we boarded and were seated. It was not relaxing at all. So classy, the ship had engine trouble and we never left the dock. Better to be stuck here then out in the lake. She asked us to stay have dinner and we'll do over another time. She gave a presentation on the new ships for Royal Caribbean Cruise she has been out business manager for years. If interested in a 3-4 day fun cruise call me! Lady Caroline has replaced the Nautica Queen that is retired. It's spacious. Four floors are used for large group entertainment. We went with a large group. First floor is walk in, and has tables and a baby grand piano. Second floor was dining. Very nice heavy hors-d'oeruvres were dinner. Specially drinks were delicious. Service was excellent. Third floor was a large dance floor with seating, and a bar. Fourth floor was the open top with spectacular views of the city. Our cruise on Lake Erie and the Cuyahoga River was about two hours, and docked for an hour. We were there from 5-8 p.m. I would go again. read more

Go for the views!! We had perfect weather. Sun was out. Low 80's and light wind. Service was excellent. Drinks were flowing. Food was average hence the three stars. It was a bit confusing on the "masks". When we were boarding we were given a mask. Told to wear it when walking around the ship and up at the buffet. This was not enforced and it was maybe 25% followed the instructions. We did ask and were told "nah you don't have to wear your mask". Would recommend when you have out of town guests. read more

We had a great time. The food was good and the service was good. It's a buffet style and you get your own food. The waiters were very helpful and help you get your food to the table with if you need. We had a baby with us and it was very hard to get around. Having a stroller was a nightmare. They didn't have anywhere we're kids could sit except for a booster seat which is not suitable for a 9 month old. The booster seat also doesn't have a seatbelt so it was just a big no. They call your tables one at a time and being the first few tables made it so much better. Since we had a baby with us, we had to wait in the line again. It's definitely not wheelchair accessible or stroller accessible. They don't allow strollers on the top deck. Point being, this is not kid friendly. If you are without kids, it's perfect and super enjoyable. Best time to go is weekdays or Friday morning. read more

We took an afternoon brunch cruise, and it was very enjoyable. When we arrived at the boat we were greeted by a friendly hostess that escorted us to our table. We were informed that we would be sitting with another couple while enjoying the cruise. Downside of our seats were that we were next to the restroom. Up side to our seats was that we got to go through the buffet line first....less hands touching our food, lol! The food was pretty decent. There were numerous pastries to choose from along with a salad bar, fruits, meats, breads, and delicious macaroni and cheese. I mean, it is buffet food on a boat in Lake Erie, so I wouldn't expect a Michelin Star level restaurant, but overall it was good. I've heard that the brunch cruise is the best for a meal. Not too many people I spoke to enjoyed the dinner. After we ate we headed up to the top deck to take in the views. It was an overcast day, but there was still plenty to see. One recommendation I have is to get upstairs as soon as you are finished eating to secure a seat. Pretty much everyone on the boat heads up to the top, so it is difficult to find a seat if you wait too long. This cruise gives you a unique view of the city-scape that most people don't get. First of all, the boat/ship was extremely Hot and intolerable. I asked for accommodation if a fan was available and was told no. Furthermore my table and guest were seated next to the engine room vent, which was giving off more heat. The waitress that had our table looked tired from all the running around that she forgot to bring beverage orders to the table. The food was tasteless, bland and dry. I was bothered by the fact that the menu was short and limited with 1 or 2 options available for vegan diets. I walked around to access just how hot the ship was and the 1st floor which primarily had senior citizens. Everybody was fanning themselves with the menu. The second floor had air completely and the 3rd level was humid with the windows open. Why introduce a new ship that is sub-standard to the Nautica. Nautica was way better, services were great, food was good with many options, even for vegans. The price does not equate to the level of service and quality that was given. I am very disappointed with cruise and just want anyone else deciding to take this cruise to please be aware. If this is considered an upgrade to the Nautica, then everyone run. One concerning thing, I noticed is that I never saw any AED station on the walls on each floor. For the hundreds of dollars I just spent on this floppy cruise is disturbing, unacceptable, and poses a safety issue due to the temperatures, lazi fair attitudes of service staff. The food was aight, the views (dare I say) were immaculate. We were there for prom, we sat at table 9 admiring the picturesque sunset. The mood was solemn as we were reflecting on our long 4 years at school. After dinner, we took brief intermission and approached the dance floor. Then music turned on and everyone came alive. What a waste of money. They should be ashamed to even advertise this vessel. It has so much potential to be great but falls massively short of expectations. They offer suggestions on dress code but didn't bother to dust? I sat next to a window ledge that had more dust than a dirty fan blade, gross. The food was even worse. Don't come if you're gluten-free Or don't expect a good meal if your gluten-free. No vegetables at all and no seasoning at all. They did have lettuce on the salad bar but mostly head lettuce. Who serves head lettuce these days? The coleslaw was a little questionable as to how fresh it was. Unfortunately I don't know if it was gluten-free or not but I took a chance. Since there were no other vegetables. We know head lettuce has zero nutritional value to it. Just dry bland meat. The coffee was decent but I like real milk or a nut milk alternative not those fake creamers. Which is all they had. They also had no gluten free dessert which could have simply been some fruit. I had a group of 50 guests We were on the oldies luncheon cruise. The staff was very pleasant. The place was beautiful, but the food that they served us was horrible. I was advised that they did not have a catering company, but that they had a chef that prepared the food , and I'm sure he tasted the food he would not have served that that particular day the fish was awful and tasteless as well as the macaroni and cheese and the potatoes which were mashed potatoes, corn out of the can tasteless the head of chicken patty that was not edible at all in my opinion And the worst was the stuffed cabbage. It looked disgusting and with all of that on a plate actually felt like out of the window however, the salad was delicious and so was the bread. The iced tea was good, but my entire party was so disgusted with the food we all admitted that as soon as we left there, we had to go to other restaurants And fast food places to try to eat something because we were hungry. The food was just awful and my opinion and the opinion of many of my other guest $60 is a hefty price for awful food these days .. I really can't see myself returning to that establishment. Terrible service, unprofessional, lack of respect for customers, unorganized, only prepared to take your money, but not prepared to provide a service. We had reservations for 7. Boarded the Nautica on 7/16 at 6:30 pm. We were looking forward to a supposedly awesome experience. Unfortunately, we did not receive anything near that or even remotely close. As a matter of fact, we got ZERO service. We sat down and waited for 45 minutes without anyone even offering us any water or take our drink orders. We noticed that everyone at all tables around us got their drinks, even those who sat down at their tables after us. We sat and sat and at 7:25, we decided to leave the boat. There was a wedding party there when we were there so we were very understanding and waited patiently to be served, thinking that they were busy. However, after waiting for 45 minutes without being acknowledged that we were there, and everyone else were served except us, I had to question why our table was the only one ignored. I will assume positive intent at that we were not singled out, but it was very disappointing, and definitely unacceptable. We stopped by the ticket office to voice our concern and asked to speak with the manager. The lady at the office was very nice. I went on the Nautica as apart of my Virgo/Birthday season festivities. My friend bought us tickets. I was sooooooooo excited because I have never been on the cruise. I was extremely happy that parking was only $5 and it was right there at the dock. Made it so much easier for me to walk from my car to the boat with my heels on. The staff was extremely nice and poured heavy when it came to the drinks. Oh! And the food was delicious! Especially the fish they had. I am still thinking about that fish!!!! The Dj was awesome and played all the line dances that I wanted to dance to. He takes request by the way. The only thing that was really rough was the boat swaying in the water while I was trying to dance on the dance floor. I am happy I didn't fall because that would have been hilarious. A splendid time. Went out for grandpa's 81st birthday. Cruise was sold out and I was expecting to be crammed in like Sardines. Not the case. We had a party of 7 and we were seated at a table for just our group. Joe was our server and did a marvelous job. Food was OK, about what I would expect from a $10-15 buffet. No sushi. The cruise was well organized, and after brunch we hit the top deck for some fantastic shots of the Cleveland coast line. Most of the cruise was inside the breakwall. After eating, we had over an hour to enjoy the trip. There's a DJ spinning some tunes and sending happy birthday wishes. The only real negative was the temperature in the dining area. Our table was set off in a corner of the first deck. The a/c didn't get back here very good. The outside temperature was 84 and it was about 80 at our table. We had a wonderful work outing on the Nautica Queen a couple of weeks ago. The food was good and there was a lot of variety. They were able to accommodate our large group of about 125 people and took drink orders from where we were sitting. They also served dessert to us which was very nice. We lucked out with great weather for an October day. The lady from work who planned the entire event said they were fantastic to work with and she was very happy with how whole thing turned out. She even mentioned that they didn't do large groups during the week in October but said they would still do it for us. We went on the lunch Cruise for the oldies rock music on Wednesday. The good: The food was probably the best I had on any cruise on the various cities I traveled. Our server took great care of us and was so nice and helpful. The views were great. The needs improvement part: Since this was supposed to be a music cruise, why was the music so low the entire trip? I can see mood music when people are boarding. But it was quiet all the while. Maybe it was a poor sound system. After eating we proceeded upstairs as we assumed that's where the action was. Still, music very quiet and only three people dancing, one woman and two little kids. The bathroom does require a trip downstairs so if you are elderly and/or disabled use extreme caution. On every ship I been one a picture of your party is usually taken preboarding for purchase. Not here. The boat itself needs some sprucing but overall a decent experience. read more
