Best place on the lakes during the summer and all year round also. Great atmosphere and always a packed house.

Sandy Beach Marina - Their docks are sad, just sad. I would not waste my time on sandy marina.

Owner Zana is polite and friendly to your face but don't do business with her. She told me last…read moreweek dock fees going up $400 this year - no prior notice given. New fee is $1,500. She says her property taxes went up - not my problem. I asked her what "winterization" includes, besides the $150 charge. She told me she doesn't know. She collects the money, is only face I see but she can't or won't answer the simple question. I asked her to accept same dock fee $1,100 for this year due to no notice of increase. She rejected that idea without hesitating, just as if she is entitled to extra money. Now it's too late to find other dock space in time for season. Anybody have a dock to rent? Let me know.

The owner here at Sandy Beach, Jim, is the rudest, most arrogant businessman with whom I have ever…read moredealt. On July 14th I stopped in to get a price on a pontoon boat lift. He offered me a great price on a lift that was the last of its model line and I told him I would buy it. In fact I offered to put money down to hold it but he said not to worry. He suggested I get the permit first. Four weeks later I called him to say that I had the permit and wanted to schedule the installation. It was then that he told me they were too busy to install it any time in 2017. It took another three weeks to find an installer who was gracious enough to work on a lift which he had not sold through his own marina. (See my separate review of Kelly's Marine at Lake Milton). I called Sandy Beach to let them know I had found someone to install it and the woman at the phone, who I believe is Jim's wife, said "Great, come on in". On September 2nd I walked into the Sandy Beach office with my checkbook in hand. When I saw Jim I said, "OK Jim let's get rolling on this" and stuck out my hand to shake his. He walked right past me gruffly exclaiming that he didn't want to sell it anymore and that he had given me too good a deal on it. I was shocked. Jim is building a new restaurant beside the marina. I won't be eating there!

My husband and I were looking for a boat primarily for fishing. We went into Buckeye to check out…read moretheir selection and to shop around for the perfect boat. We walked in and was greeted by JD. He was very helpful, professional and cared about satisfying our request and would not allow us to purchase anything that would not satisfy our needs. We appreciated his thoughtfulness and kindness. We picked up our boat two weeks ago and upon arrival, Pete introduced himself and gave us the King and Queen tour of our new purchase. He walked from front to back and showed us all we needed to know. We are very pleased. Thank You Eli and Karen Oh, we just received a thank you gift of delicious cookies and cups!!!

Two terrible experiences with the marine service and parts department yesterday…read more 1) On Tuesday I called about getting a PWC battery. I was told to call ahead of time so they can add acid and charge up the battery, no problem. I was told the battery was $172 (before taxes, etc). I called the next day to order the battery and when I picked it up I was charged $203 (before taxes, etc.) I told the salesperson that I was told the battery was $172, he didn't care, he charged me $203. 2) They add 3% if you use a credit card, but not if you use a debit card or pay by check. No problem, I get it, but I told them you should let people know ahead of time (I would have brought a debit card), the salesperson said "sometimes" we tell the customer (huh?), the salesperson could care less. The salespeople's attitude was that they didn't care at all that they screwed this customer. I'm afraid they have lost a longtime and repeating (PWC and ski package) customer. Maybe business is so good they don't care about customers.
