This is a great place to rent a kayak! $10 an hour, which is the best price we've seen in the area. Also, the owner/workers are very nice, accommodating, and knowledgeable. Our most recent adventure was interrupted by storms, but they gave us as much "make up time" on the water as we wanted. Also, we recently bought one kayak of our own and they were very helpful giving us pointers on how to safely secure it to our rack. I love this place! We own our own kayaks but wanted to try stand up paddle boards, so we headed here. They are super nice and friendly, and when we forgot our sunblock, they gave us some that someone had left behind. They didn't try to sell us any. It's $10 per hour per rental, which is super cheap. Everything was clean and in great shape. You go to their store, and then follow them in your own car to the lake. It's a one minute drive. Then they help you into the yak and off you go. They either come back to get the yaks at the time you want, or you can call or text them to come back. Great people, great experience, great price, great equipment. Really nice place to rent a Kayak, canoe or paddle board. Easy rental process then you follow the guy to the lake. He helps us get inside and pushed off! We rented two kayaks for two hours and had a blast exploring the Portage lake. We even packed a lunch and attached the kayaks to easily pass food about. So quiet and peaceful and when we saw other boats or kayakers everyone waved and said hello. Such a nice place to spend an afternoon. We will be back and next time I'm gonna be brave and try paddle boarding! read more

After scheduling a time online, we received an email confirmation same day. We also got a text a few hours later which I thought was super courteous. Day of: My husband & I arrived ~15 minutes early & texted the shop number (as recommended per the confirmation email as part of COVID 19 restricts). Within 20seconds I received a text back & was advised to come in the shop. We proceeded to pay & got the game plan together. For being a smaller shop, there was adequate signage stating in person restrictions & the shop felt very open & clean which was a great first impression! After paying, we waited for a few minutes in our car while they got the Yacks together. We processed to follow the trailer (via our own car as instructed) to the dock. Once at destination the staff members dropped off the kyacks we requested (sit ins) & off we went! For the price ($10/hr for kyacks) you can't beat the convenience & amenities (paddle, yack, and life jacket). It was our first time using this shop & we will absolutely use this again soon!! Very pleased with the experience! Also the gentleman that checked us out in the shop also provided a business card which is redeemable for a free rental after 10 rentals!
