We rented a Duffy boat that holds up to 12 people and we brought 9. It was simply awesome! The boat was easy to use and our night out on the water was perfect. We did a 7-9pm rental. Soooooo fun!! A few weeks back we decided to celebrate my mother-in-law's 50th birthday. There wasn't a better way to do so then by BrewBoat CLE. It is the pedal wagon on water! The driver and co-captain were extremely polite, even though it was a hot afternoon. We were allowed to bring 3 beers or a total of 36 oz of drinks with us. There was a Bluetooth speaker on board which allowed up to all take turns playing our own music too. Overall, the ride lasted a little over 2 hours and it was smooth along the water. A few views that made the outing a memorable one were: downtown's skyline, the flats, and an opening of the lake. Typically the boat will seat about 10 people and we had just a few less. Regardless, it was not an issue as they were extremely accommodating. There is a small convenient store next to the boarding location if you forgot to purchase any beverages before the adventure. read more

I cannot say enough nice things about our BrewBoat experience. From start to finish, everything about this was easy and fun. I had a discount code, but even at full price this is a great value. Booking online was really easy and the website clearly spells out all the rules. Directions to the marina were clear and we found parking immediately. We were greeted as soon as the previous trip docked. They cleaned up the boat pretty quickly and soon enough we were loading our drinks into the provided coolers! There was a ton of space for all 14 of us plus our things. They thought of everything- magnetic beer openers on the bar, wine bottle opener, Bluetooth speakers for your device, Sirius radio if you don't bring a device, cool new LED lights. The seats were comfortable and they came around to adjust when needed. They made sure trash was disposed of properly and even wiped up the bar area throughout our trip. There are cup holders at each of the 10 seats and we also got to keep the little yellow cup they provided. We were all way too excited about the cup. Everyone asks, so I'll be honest.... This is not labor intensive. I've done pedal taverns before and they are HARD work. The Brew Boat is way more casual and easy to do. There were times that perhaps not one of us was pedaling. We were standing and dancing, so don't worry if you are lazy The route up the river was wonderful. It was so exciting to see our beautiful, revitalized flats district from a different vantage point. It wasn't crowded on the river but we felt like celebrities with all the people on the shore pointing and waving. Our captain was great and owner/ operator Freddy is awesome. He was so accommodating and friendly and even let my sis decorate for my birthday. I highly recommend this! They book fast, so take advantage and don't miss it! read more

What an excellent experience, all the way around! It is so much fun pedaling as the boat cruises along the river! We boarded the ship for an 8pm cruise, which seems late for a Sunday night, but actually was perfect! We started out during light hours and got to see our gorgeous downtown skyline light up after dark. The crew and captain were awesome- very friendly and helpful. We had gone to dinner at Coastal Taco before, and so didn't bring any snacks, but that is an option. We brought some beer and wine and a playlist. The crew took care of the rest! We highly recommend BrewBoat CLE! My only regret is that we waited this long to try it. read more

We had SO MUCH FUN on our BrewBoat last evening (Sunday, July 22). We were lucky to have Freddy as our BrewBoat Coordinator, and we also had a great captain. They let us do our thing, but still joined in on the fun too. They even knew which of their other boats on the water that evening were celebrating birthdays so that when we passed we could sing them happy birthday! It's evident that they like what they do, which makes the rest of the experience that much more enjoyable Everyone on board had to work on Monday morning, so I was a little concerned about the timing of our Sunday evening reservations. Our "cruise" started at 6pm, and we were back at the dock right at 7:45pm. Everyone was home before 8:30pm and had plenty of time to get ready for the next day. We were also a little concerned about the lack of bathrooms/stops on the boat, but the timing of that was perfect too. Pedaling was not difficult at all, however we had an overcast/muggy evening, so we all were a little sweaty by the end. Thankfully, the temperature was unusually cool at 70*, so we stayed comfortable the entire trip. The pedaling was not hard work, however you still will get a workout! The good news is that the captain can raise/lower the boat propeller, so when we HAD to get up and dance, the boat kept moving :) I think i can speak for my entire group when I say that we had an amazing experience and would definitely do it again/recommend to our family and friends. We specifically loved the option of being able to rent a private boat for ourselves. Great company and great times! read more

We booked this for a 30th birthday party and had the best time! The staff was super friendly and were also really cool about us being a few minutes late because of traffic. The views from the boat were gorgeous and everyone had a ton of fun. We all put together a Spotify playlist ahead of time, so it was really cool to play your own music. A must do experience for anyone, Cleveland resident or tourist! Best way to see the skyline of Cleveland and the scenery along the water that runs through the Flats. The boat holds 14 people, with a long bar top that runs down the middle of the boat, where you sit at bar stools and peddle the boat like a bike. Also has a bench that sits at the end of the boat where you can sit and enjoy the sun and view. It's byob, so you can bring wine, beer, etc and snacks. You can connect your phone to the radio and jam during the 2 hour ride through the city with your group. We have done this twice, once with a small group, where we were combined with another group of people we didn't know, then we filled the boat with all of our group. I highly recommend getting a full Boat. Although we had a fabulous time with the people we didn't know, it's just a better experience when it's all your group. It's a unique way to have some drinks, mingle with friends, and enjoy the weather and city all at once! The cost is well worth it, drinking downtown you'd spend 30 bucks on drinks alone, but here you can spend a little more to get the ride and bring your own drinks, it's a win, and the best place to get some fabulous photos! read more

Such a fun "exbeerience"!! We set sail on August 27th, 2016 with Captain Katie and had a great time. We rented he boat out for a private tour and cruised along the Cuyahoga. We lucked out and had a gorgeous day and were sweating a little bit from all the peddling. Each seat was adjustable, which the Captain took care of, BYOB, plug in your phone/ipod for a personalized playlist, and bring some snacks - they take care of the rest. Two garbage cans on board - one recycle and the other trash. Highly recommend this new Cleveland adventure, but it sells out quickly. P.S. Don't blink during the ride, with all that fun, 2 hours goes by fast! Note: No bathroom on board or stops, but no one had an issue in our group! read more

The experience was really cool and we had a good time, but I was a little disappointed in our captain. For what we paid I figured he'd be into the experience, but instead he was on his phone the entire time and dismissive. The website told us to get there 15-20 mins early but when we got there we were told to go sit over by the marina (which was fine because we were early). Then we walked up 8 mins before it was to take off and he told us to go back to the marina and sit down. The entire time he was just sitting on the boat on his phone. Once we were on the boat, we tried to talk with him and joke around and he just wasn't having it. Maybe he was just in a bad mood that day ‍ overall we had a good time though and I would recommend! We went out on the BrewBoat as a team outing from work on a perfect summer day in CLE. It's a fun and unique experience and I loved seeing not just the Cleveland skyline, but also parts of the river that you don't normally see from the East or West Bank of the flats. The experience is very laid back and when everyone predictably stopped pedaling to take pictures and check out the sights, they have a motor to keep things moving. The reason I give the experience 3 stars is that they allow smoking on the boat, which is not made clear on the website FAQs. We were paired with a group that smoked the whole ride, which drastically took away from our experience. When we boarded we even asked their policy and they stated that smokers sit at the back of the boat so the smoke is carried downwind. Wind is a bit irrelevant when you're puttering through the river at the rate of speed we were and have nowhere to escape. Not only that, the captain himself was smoking. I realize a brewboat isn't exactly corporate America, but I would expect more professionalism and respect for paying customers trying to enjoy a beautiful day outside on the water. This was one of the best experiences I've had as a lifelong Cleveland resident. I attended a Sunday afternoon cruise with friends both newly made onboard and old. Three of those friends were visiting from Chicago and Washington D.C. The boat's canopy made it enjoyable for those who wanted some shade, but those who wanted full sun exposure could sit at the end of the boat for it, too. We were allowed to plug in our phones to play our own music, which is always a plus. The cherry on top were the complimentary cups, ice, and coolers.
