I called ahead a couple of times and did not get an answer, so I just drove down to Deacon Baldy's. When I arrived, the owner mentioned that he never answers out-of-state area codes because it's usually spam. But the good news is that my food came out super quick anyway, so if you are going to call ahead, you may not want to leave too much time before you show up. I ordered the Misteak and I have to say that it was a Top 10 burger I've ever eaten. Maybe higher. After one visit, I already know that I will definitely be taking friends and family here when they come over because it was such an unbelievably perfect thing. I also ordered the corn salad, not because I necessarily would have normally chosen such a thing, but it was unique and a review highlight. I have to admit, it was an excellent pairing for my amazing burger and would recommend checking it out. Thanks Wiches on Wheels for being great at burger-making! Next time you get a call from a Tampa area code, it's not someone trying to sell you something!

The fries as a topping took me back to being a kid at a family BBQ and stacking wedges on my burger. Hands down one of the best food trucks I've had the pleasure to visit. It is no wonder they are sitting a 5 stars. The 'tater salad was an interesting choice but still delicious. The garlic slaps you right in the kisser, but you'll go back for more. This is a great pairing with a good brew at Deacon Baldies

I can eat an entire pot of that cabbage. The jerk does not have the spice I am used to, but to each his own. The absolute jewel is the owner, he was so helpful and pleasant, and takes pride in his business! I'm rooting for you!!

I got the jerk leg and thigh, the Jamaican Surprise side, and a rum cake for dessert. The jerk chicken was absolutely delicious, a great tangy jerk sauce on tender dark meat. Nice big pieces too, felt like plenty of food. The Jamaican Surprise is a serving of fried doughballs. The menu compares them to hush puppies, but I'd say they are more like sourdough (mild) beignets. Some powdered sugar on them would make a great dessert. Crunchy outside, tender and chewy in the middle. The rum cake was a nice finish for the meal. It was quite dense with a lot of flavor, not too sweet. Home made and grandma's recipe, according to the proprietor. Worth a try. The menu is fascinating and makes me want to come back. The loaded fries sound very good, and I want to try the cabbage medley. This is the only Jamaican food in the area, so far as I know. Fortunately it represents well. The proprietor is fun to talk to and the food is a great introduction to Jamaican cuisine if you have not tried it before.
