Glad we came back as Chris who was our server was fantastic in getting our order of a bucket of lightly steamed oysters, wings, fish dip & ice cold beers . The oysters came out fairly quick which were from Virginia. Nice size and cooked as requested. The fish dip was excellent with 2 mounds provided along with chopped jalapeño's and saltines. We also had wings which were on special with 10 wings for $10.99. We asked for crispy along with garlic parmesan which were perfectly cooked & presented. The Troff is your old time Florida oyster bar which is cool. Not much has changed other than some decorations on the walls. Thank you for a fun evening!

I was super surprised by the food at Red Crab Juicy Seafood. We ordered the Family Platter A which comes with 1 Ib Snow Crab Legs, 1/2 Ib Shrimp (no head), 2 Lobster Tails, 1/2 Ib Sausage, 1/2 Ib Corn and 1/2 Ib Potatoes. Everything came out good. It was definitely worth the visit. There was plenty of seating inside. There were multiple televisions for the kids to watch. We will comeback soon to try another family platter.

WARNING: Be cautious when ordering the raw oysters, here. The server had a "I don't give a F…read moreattitude" when I had my first bite of half-dozen raw oysters. The one oyster I started to bite into was the WORST tasting I've had in a long time. It was gritty and tasted like it had died, before it was caught. I asked the server to let the manager or cook know this, as I was concerned for other customers' safety. She gave this look like it was me who was the problem. No manager bothered to come to our table, to ask me about it, either. She also scoffed at my reaction when she said that the Alaskan King Crabs market price went up to $92 / lb - which I thought was way overpriced for a place like Red Crab. So, I got the snow crab legs, which were excellent, as well as the boiled potatoes. The generous amount of butter had an off-putting flavor, but still went well with the crab legs. The corn on the cob sucked, as it was soggy, from clearly being kept in a warming oven or pot for too long. The cheesecake was small, but really good, although I did have to ask about desserts when the server was ready to give us the check. She was also slow in bringing out the dessert and updating our check, but nicer towards the end of the dinner. This is about the 5th time I've been to Red Crab - and just this location. They need to work on food quality consistency, better training on the servers, and take seriously when a customer nicely complains about raw oysters, that don't taste fresh and clean.

Started with the dozen chargrilled oysters which were flavorful and the best part of my meal. I also appreciated the French bread provided with the oysters. I had a pound of the peel and eat shrimp in the spicy garlic sauce served hot. It was a Saturday pricing special and definitely a good deal. The shrimp were not deveined so peeling them took a bit more effort, which is not a dealbreaker for me but something to know if you prefer deveined shrimp. The quality of the shrimp varied - some were large, some small, some were fresh, a few were mushy/overcooked. Served with drawn butter and cocktail sauce, which were great complements. I'd probably do no old bay or sauce at all next time, as I liked the sauce less as I continued eating. All in all, I'd return again for the oysters and try out other menu items!

This location was suggested as they have an enclosed patio to avoid bugs, and it worked out great! The staff were remarkable and even brought an iced water for the dog without even asking! Appreciate that extra touch. What We Ordered: ~ Dockside Scallops (Appetizer): cooked beautifully, and paired with a sauce that complimented the scallops. Loved the citrus for acidity, while having the sweet chili for some spice. I can see this being delicious with rice and a vegetable for an entree, which they also offer. ~ The Big Cheese Burger (sub Cheddar versus American Cheese): Very delicious and a great price point for $15! Definitely left us satisfied as we cut in half to share the scallops as well. ~ Jumper Juice: only $5 all day, every day? Why not try! Though, I'm a vodka fan so this was not my liquor of choice. Still a very refreshing drink that I'm sure many would enjoy. ~ Coke: A classic for a burger, and tasted great on a hot, humid Florida day. Definitely a place I'd return when visiting in the area, and I can see trying the scallop entree or even getting a burger again. Great food, friendly service, and spacious location.

The waitress was terrific but when it came to the food, we both agreed we would not go back. Fish and Chips were ordered and it was mentioned that they tasted Frozen Long John from a box and the 2 fish pieces were small. We paid $1 extra for onion rings which looked good but needed seasoning aka salt. My patty melt was ok and I ordered it with fries which didn't come out with my meal. When the fries came they were fresh which I was happy about that but I needed to salt them for flavor. Went to use the ladies room before leaving and a 1 stall caused a traffic jam on a Saturday afternoon. Can't imagine what it would be like on a busy night. It was busy in there so if you are in the area, try it just don't order fish and chips.

The hostess was very friendly and led us to a booth on the left side of the restaurant where we were greeted immediately by our server Jaiden she dropped off a few menus and a list of cocktails and beers then stepped away for a few minutes allowing us to make our decision. We ordered a few beers and gator taters for a starter - living in Florida one can appreciate really cold beer and this place has really really cold beer. The gator taters arrive after a few minute and we placed our meal choice. For some reason I thought the gator taters were potato skins so I was a little taken back when this bowl of casserole like potatoes arrived but I must admit they were delicious. We ordered fried chicken sliders and a philly cheese steak with crinkle fries. Both entrees were perfectly executed and like the gator taters absolutely delicious so this was much better than the "bar food" I was expecting - the staff here is very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is very spacious and although ghostly quite during our visit I'm sure on game day this place could get busy and loud. It was also very clean, this was my first visit but definitely not my last...

Even though the weather was hot out and Labor Day weekend, this was one of the few open venues in the quaint little town. But it made up for the lack of open restaurants. Mount Dora has public parking lots and street parking. All the shops are within walking distance and offer a wide variety of things to do, including a boat tour. It's an artists town so if you love art, you'll find plenty of inspiration! I really enjoyed Pisces Rising because they had an amazing musician while we were there. It added to the beautiful backdrop of the lake. They have $5 happy hour for mojitos and margaritas but I opted for one of the specialty butterfly pea cocktails. My friend and I got the crab cakes and sashimi tuna appetizer since we planned on trying out other places. It was one of the best appetizers and drinks. The bartender was awesome! She made amazing drinks and service was great even though she was in charge of all the customers at the bar. In addition to helping the inside staff. I'd definitely come back to chill with friends. Great for a date and simply relaxing solo. Prices in Mt. Dora is probably a little more markup but I wasn't disappointed with the quality.

I only discovered it because I took my burger apart. Had I simply eaten it as served, I might never have noticed it until it was too late. We didn't even have glassware at our table, and our wine was served in plastic, which makes this situation even more concerning. How does a piece of glass end up in a customer's burger? This is a serious food-safety issue, not a minor mistake or an inconvenience. Unfortunately, the experience was already terrible before this happened. Service was painfully slow, and despite the restaurant operating with "pre-made" food due to the art fair, we watched other tables get served before us while we continued waiting. To make matters worse, the staff was unwilling to accommodate my child. The entire experience was frustrating, poorly handled, and completely unacceptable. Between the appalling service, the lack of consideration for a family dining with a child, and the discovery of GLASS in my food, this restaurant has completely lost our trust. A busy event is not an excuse for poor service or terrible frozen food and it certainly does not excuse a potentially dangerous food-safety failure. Finding glass in your food is beyond unacceptable. This restaurant needs to take a serious look at its food-handling procedures and how it treats its customers. We came in expecting a meal and left with a genuinely alarming experience. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, and we will absolutely not be returning.
