VERBALLY DISRESPECTED, REPRIMANDED, AND BANNED BY MANAGER. I would like to begin with the fact that I have been visiting Laque House for almost two years. I have recommended this salon to almost 10 friends who have driven from all over South Florida to get their nails done at LH solely based on what I had to say. I had such a wonderful experience every time, but as of recently I had 3 separate but almost consecutive instances where they've cancelled my appointment on the same day of service. The first two times, I understood, but by the third time I was very upset. As I'm sure anyone in my position would be. I make my appointments months in advance to just have them canceled the day of. They tried to get me to go in on Monday instead of the cancelled Saturday, which obviously would not work for me given that I do weekend appointments due to working full time. I raised my voice at the craziness and hung up the phone. That same day, I posted on Instagram story (attached) that I was looking for a new salon and someone suggested Laque House. I replied something along the lines that this salon cancels appointments same day (not a lie and it was my personal experience on my personal account.) I did not state they did bad nails or had bad service. The LH team replied to me on Instagram and we had a long, professional, mature conversation, which at the end I thought ok, we both understood each other and are on good terms. Fast forward to November 5th, I decided to give LH another chance. I had an amazing experience. The last thing I told my usual nail tech was how happy I was with my nails. I paid and was ready to tell my friends about how things had changed. It was then, in front of the *glass* doors with people watching that the manager stopped me in a verbal attack. She told me she "knew who I was" and that I went in there like nothing happened, which was the point, as I was giving Laque House another chance, and that after my next appointment in December, I was no longer allowed to return. I was genuinely shocked when she approached me like this. She said that I had been bad mouthing the salon on social media, which, again, I posted one time on a non-permanent Instagram Story, months ago, a very accurate retelling of what I experienced on my private social media account and even then cleared the air via DMs with the company. She was beyond rude, talked down to me, and give extreme attitude the entire conversation as I just tried to explain where I was coming from and how I just wanted to give LH another chance. Never in my life have I ever encountered such disrespect towards a paying customer. And the fact that she was banning me just for sharing that I was upset that they disappointed me three times was the craziest part. I, of course, went and cancelled my December appointment as I would hate to support a company who treats customers this way. The salon is super cute, the techs are always friendly and the coffee is always great for the early morning appointments lol. I was pleasantly surprised with their booking system and how will they were to squeeze me in! I brought in a picture of the gel nails I wanted with designs. The lady was very friendly and super quick with my nails. It's only been 2 days but my nails still look very fresh and have not chipped. I love that they now know me by name :) When I saw that they moved to a new better location I KNEW that I had to check it out. The new location is PERFECT. The parking was easy and the location is much more suitable. The overall atmosphere of the new place is amazing I love all the details. The pedi chairs are cozy and comfortable. I have seen Laque house tagged on Instagram countless of times. I made an appointment and finally went in late December. When I made the appointment online it stated a full set + design would be $47. I had a fresh set of acrylic on but assumed they would not want to work on top of someone else's nail set which I totally understood and did not care. My nail lady, Alianny, told me she did not mind and would just do me a refill instead of full set. I showed her a pretty simple design compared to what I've seen on their Instagram because I was going for a simpler look. In my mind, I thought the service would be cheaper now because it is no longer a full set. When I got to the register it was $62 for my refill.... I asked the girl who was checking me out if I was charged for a full set or refill and she said it was a refill... When I asked her why it was more expensive than then full set was supposed to be she could not provide me an answer. Side note - I didn't even do my feet or anything so this was just for my hands. I was shocked at the poor customer service I received and considering that it was my first time there, I just knew it would be my last. The issue is not the money, I just wanted the prices explained to me in detail because I genuinely did not know why I was paying that much. To avoid the back and forth I ended up paying and left extremely dissatisfied. I don't really recommend this spot unless you're willing to spend extra money on who knows what. read more

If you have an event coming up and need to have your nails down - Laque house is NOT for you. I was on my way to the salon when i received a call from the Laque house informing me that my appointment has been cancelled. Mind you, this is 20 mins prior to my arrival. I was also told that they can't accommodate me. When they make an appointment, they require you provide a credit card so they can charge you if you happen to cancel less than 24 hours in advance. What's their "payment" for canceling my appointment (and most importantly failing my nails before the event)? Reliability score is ZERO. My finger tips and cuticles were unbearably itchy and swollen. I had to take Claritin and Cortisone for 3 days when I started to feel some relief. I left several messages to the owner, Caro, and she didn't call me back- no concern whatsoever!!! Her receptionist even gave me an Attitude. I learned that two of my friends also had the same reactions and one of them even developed an infection and had to take antibiotics. The technicians do goos work- very pretty. So my nails look awesome and my pedicur-ist Lidice was so nice. But my manicure (again nails look great) was really painful. The manicurist was obviously in a rush and cut me several times. The worst part was she brushed it off and didn't try to be gentler. I was tempted to stop the manicure but didn't want to cause a scene. I almost skipped my pedicure scared it would be equally painful but pleasantly surprised to have a different technician - Lidice's attention to detail was awesome. I had several ingrowns which I expected to hurt but didn't because Lidice went slowly and carefully. I was turned off by the fact that the salon called me twice to reschedule. I explained that me and a friend were trying to do our nails together. They then called a second time again asking if I could come in earlier. Obviously not paying attention to our earlier convo. Moving from ATL where manicures & pedicures are done simultaneously and your time is valued as well as achieving a flawless finish, I am extremely picky. I have lived in Miami for six years and had yet to find a nail bar that provided both an efficient service and high quality of service. I was shocked when my acrylic fill with gel polish took only 45 minutes and was absolutely perfect . Caro, the owner, is extremely welcoming along with the rest of the staff. My technician was so polite and patient while I debated colors, and she took a genuine interest in assisting me. The atmosphere is so aesthetically pleasing and relaxing. Both times I have been here have been stress free and thrilled with the efficiency and results. Wow!!! I'm a guys and wow!! I had know idea what I was walking into when I decided to get a manicure. This may have been the most beautiful nail salons I've ever seen. Talk about attention to detail!! The place is unbelievably amazing. Then the drinks. Ahhhh yes! I'll have a glass of champagne please. Yes and thank you!! lol. The owner actually did my manicure. I was excited about this place after following on instagram. Let's start this review with the fact that I appreciate a relaxing experience when getting a mani pedi. We will come back to this. The appointment process was quick and easy and I was able to obtain a same day appt. Finding the place was a tad difficult as it is located in a shopping plaza on the first floor of an apartment complex. When I arrived I was greeted by the front desk staff who asked me to choose a color. There were two staff members laying on the couches in the entrance listening to music and watching videos on their phone. I was then welcomed by my nail tech who was very polite. She escorted me to the pedicure station. The decor is very cute and modern. Not so much practical, the chairs aren't that comfortable, no reclining, but then again I prefer massage chairs any day. My nail tech had me step up to the station in which she wrapped a blue plastic (good for the germaphobes like me) around the steel bin in which I placed my feet. She then proceeds to place hot water into the bin, the problem is it doesn't stay hot for long. I was seated next to the speaker of the pedicure station and it wasn't very relaxing having upbeat tempo music play pretty loudly right next to you. Then someone else was sat next to me who was speaking very loudly on their phone, again not very relaxing. The pedicure was nothing to write home about it was a simple gel pedicure, no lotion massage after, sadly. The manicure station is set up like a bar with bar stools for customers to sit. The chairs are a little more comfortable but darn they are hard to climb and I'm averaged sized. Again the gel manicure was nothing to write home about and no lotion after. Actually my nail tech had me apply the lotion on myself. The paying process was quick and simple. They have cute jewelry at the register for purchase. read more

I got a spa pedicure, with the intention to relax and enjoy. However, my appointment felt super rushed (it was about 30 min) with really nothing extra (which you would think would come with a spa pedicure since you're paying extra). All that I got was extra moisturizer. I was shocked to learn that they don't even massage your feet. They don't have nail drying stations either. I come from NY where a spa pedicure means they take their time, give you a 10 minute foot massage and use many different moisturizers. Maybe this is just the normal for Miami? Anyways, I probably won't return. The positive is that they are very nice and the place is beautifully decorated. They also provide free espresso shots. Scheduled a dip with tips mani with Oliday. Unfortunately Miami traffic on US-1 is such that I was 20 minutes late. Called twice to update the staff on my arrival time and was happy that they said they would accommodate me. When I arrived, their system had been down and was just re-booting and I waited for about 30 minutes to be taken back. This was all tolerable. Manicure started out fine but quickly took a turn south. Manicurist nicked my skin about seven times throughout the service which was ok but kept happening. Then, the dip came out extremely uneven and mottled because manicurist was unaware that the electric file is best to use to smooth out dip after application; hand 4 sided file doesn't cut it, and made more cuts on my skin. We finally got my nails filed down semi evenly but it came out matte because no clear coat was put on top. I requested gel overcoat to make nails shiny because that's how they normally come out. Was charged 5 dollars extra for one top clear coat of gel. Nails are still with awkward pits and imperfections in them, and I paid $50 for this manicure. This place is so cute and the owner is great, but I'm sad to say I won't be going back Update: one of my nails just completely flew off two days after my manicure, which has NEVER HAPPENED TO ME with proper dip with tip application. MUST READ: I was very excited to visit this salon after spotting them on Instagram. After spending 4 hours there, I left disappointed, exhausted, and frustrated with my experience. I made an appointment for 3 people. I told the girl on the phone about my nail designs and she said absolutely someone would get them done. I arrived at 230 pm, 15 minutes early for my appointment and the receptionist told me that the manicurists was late about 30 minutes. Without hesitation I said, don't worryI had no issue waiting and was looking forward to getting my nails done. My mom got her nails done in a simple solid gel color so it was fine. The problem was there was no one to attend me or my sister. After waiting over an hour my sister was called only to find out that the lady didn't know how to do any sort of nail design...only solid color. After back and forth, the receptionist found someone to do the nail design but the person doing the nails was in a very bad mood and it was clear she didn't even want to do my sisters nails. It was a bitter and negative experience. After waiting over 2 hours I finally was called for my nails towards 5 pm. At this point i was really tired and had seen multiple people come and go in the salon. The nail tech that attended me was the same one that didn't do nail designs. It was really difficult to sit there and have the receptionist and my nail tech go back and forth in tense discussions about my nails. When the receptionist was kindly trying to help me find someone to do my nail design, the nail tech scolded us telling us to talk to her about it. This lady literally scram at me and the receptionist!! Even though it had already been discussed that she was not able to do any design for me. Honestly I was so tired and drained and disappointed at this point. I found out that the nail tech who did designs wasn't going to be available for me. I was so discouraged I just told my nail tech to please paint my nails in pink because i wanted to leave. I couldn't fathom being in there any longer. And this was my 4 hour experience at this salon. UPDATE** 7/30/19 Someone named Katharine offered me a complimentary gel manicure via email. I was very honest, I would have maybe considered it IF the nails were actually good quality. WARNING, on Day 4 this is what my nails looked like. Chipped bottoms and tops, completely worn out, they were even shaped incorrectly (some round some square some completely slanted). As expected my request for a refund was denied. I tipped the nail tech $10 as well and I regret it so much, she doesn't know what she's doing, she was so rude to me even though I was being nice and patient, and even worse, is that it is CLEAR that the quality of products used to do nails are complete garbage. 4 days and it's worn out and chipped? Extremely disappointed! My appointment was with Geinny for a gel manicure and she cut my middle finger to the point where it is an exposed cut, which is still stinging. Also, there's nail polish on the cuticles of almost all my fingernails and the paint itself looks very lumpy and uneven. I mentioned it to her several times during the appointment to try to fix but she did not try. Laque house was my former go to nail salon when I lived in Kendall at its old location. Surprised to find out they turned over almost completely with brand new staff at their new location. It's a shame since the old staff did excellent jobs with nails, completely flawless and perfect. This nail job is probably one of the worst looking I've ever had. My experience wasn't the best and it's a shame that it's based on one nail tech's job. I will say the new nail salon location is beautiful and I hope there are other nail techs that do a better job. If you go here I would recommend not to do it with Geinny, pick someone else who can do a better job. I absolutely loved this place until I had to cancel because of a family emergency. I called with a couple of hours ahead of time and they were far from considerate. I booked another appointment to give them another chance, because after all it is difficult to find a good salón. Two days before my appointment, they called, I had to switch over to get a call. I did not have the time to return when I get a automated text stating my appointment had been canceled, if there was only a way to charge them $25 for rudeness and bad business practices. From the moment you walk in you feel welcomed. The attention to detail is on point. The salon is decorated so cute, everything is extremely neat & clean. Plus the girls are amazing! Rosa took her time with my pedicure- I've always suffered from ingrown nails in which most nail techs always overlook. She made sure to get them out, and made sure I was comfortable along the way. I had my eyebrows done by Sarah and love the wax they use. Its the kind that hardens and you peel off rather than use paper wax strips. Cons: parking, make sure to bring your change its off street meter parking. Downside to getting a pedicure there, the chairs don't massage and are not very comfortable but they are very cute.
