I went to the nail salon about two months ago and had a full set of Apres Gel-X Extension System done. They broke off the next day.! Which was disappointing because I had them done for an event... they immediately called and offered to redo them at any time that was convenient for me. I went back to give this place a second try a few weeks later. I decided to just go with a gel manicure rather than the Apres Gel-X Extension System. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive . Customer service is definitely a strong suit however, if you're wanting to get your nails done right the first time this isn't the place.. When the job manicure is finished, they were discolored in certain areas, and even things stuck in the paint in the nail seems like a bit of an oversight . Again they offered to fix it... however I had dinner later that day and just didn't have the time to sit there while they fixed all of the nails. I visited GLOSS Nail Bar today for a 60-minute "Custom Pedicure," priced at $70. I left extremely disappointed, with an injured nail, unfinished service, and concerns about sanitation and hygiene. Within the first 10 minutes of the pedicure, the technician caused my toe to bleed. When I asked for an antiseptic, she claimed she had already applied something and told me not to worry--hardly reassuring, especially given the lack of transparency and the potential for infection. Worse still, about halfway through the session, the technician informed me that she was "finished." Confused, I asked whether the Custom Pedicure--which is marketed as one of their higher-tier services--was only 30 minutes long. She seemed unaware of what service I had actually booked and then offered to just give me a massage. I declined, asking instead for the callus removal that is clearly included in the service description. She had already cleaned up her station by then, and the remainder of the appointment felt like a confused scramble to salvage an increasingly unprofessional situation. There was no further soaking, no hot oil wrap, and no nail buff--all of which are specifically listed as part of the Custom Pedicure on their website. The technician even mentioned I'd have to return a second time to fully remove the calluses, despite the service description clearly stating: "Sumptuous pedicure plus a complete removal of calluses and roughness, and an organic oil wrap." None of that was delivered as promised. In total, I spent an hour--half of it devoted to mistake correction--and left with a bleeding toe, calluses still intact, and growing concern about the possibility of infection. For a $70 premium pedicure, this experience was unacceptable. Lastly, I want to preempt what appears to be a pattern in their online responses: I've seen the business reply to negative reviews stating they were "unable to find the appointment." I visited today at 1:40 PM and have documentation of my appointment and payment. I'll gladly provide this if the business attempts to deny my visit. I expected professional service and basic hygiene. It's extremely clean and NO ONE screams at you to "pick a color!" Brenda the nail tech was lovely and she offered me tea, water or wine before I actually sat down...how amazing is that? Ambiance: great. Most of the staff are really sweet and they offer beverages like tea. They were very accommodating and made me feel like I was being attended to in a caring way. My nails also look beautiful. They did a great job on the look I wanted. Here's the bad part: I thought I was just being overly sensitive to the pain from the cuticle cleaning process. But I kept jumping from the pain. Then I noticed I kept on bleeding, yet my nail tech continued to be just as aggressive with them. My cuticles are SOOO sore and red. I mean she really annihilated my cuticles. Once again, she did a beautiful job, but if you don't speak Spanish, it's hard to communicate that you want them to be more gentle. I feel it's basic training that if someone starts bleeding, you'd normally back off on how much you're cutting cuticles. To pay $90 for that... I'd probably not go again read more

I typically do my nails myself for multiple reasons, but every now and then it's nice to go get a pedicure. I'm baffled by any negative reviews of this place. It was easy to make an appointment (same day), they have soo many beautiful polish colors to choose from, the receptionist was very friendly and welcoming (she offered me different types of beverages upon arrival) and the place has a nice zen feel to it. It was very clean, in a prime location on Miracle Mile, and I didn't wait at all once I walked in and chose my color. I didn't get my nail tech's name, but she was very friendly with great energy and even spoke English! (As a non-Spanish speaker, this was refreshing). She did an excellent job and I felt satisfied with the value for the service. I specifically chose GLOSS because the typical products used in salons are so incredibly toxic, it should be criminal! They claim to provide a non-toxic and organic experience and that's what I received. Everything seemed very sanitary and all tools were taken out of a sealed bag. Samantha specifically helped me with picking my colors and even explained the color theory behind it. She made it a truly special experience. As well as talking to me about options for keeping my nails manicured while maintaining the strength and health of my nails. Merlis did my mani-pedi the last two times and she always does a great job. She is reciprocative to feedback and always does an amazing job making sure you get what you want. She went above and beyond meticulously perfecting the nail art despite it not being specialty. She does a great Russian manicure with Builder gel. She really makes sure to perfect the structure of the builder gel. Last time I visited I accidentally smudged one of my toe nails and they happily fixed it.
