You ride in small Cessna propeller plane, which can comfortably seat two, and can squeeze a third if you must (two adults and a kid seems reasonable, and there's a coupon on the website to get your third passenger free, so this might be good for families). We did the Delaware Water Gap tour, which is around a half hour. We went in fall, and the scenery was gorgeous, with rivers and mountains covered in colorful autumn trees. You star fairly low so you can still see a lot of what's going on below. The wind tends to be a bit choppy up in the mountains, so this might not be great for those faint of heart or weak of stomach, but it also adds to the thrill. Toward the end of the flight our pilot let my girlfriend take control and fly the plane. This was a big thrill for her, and he actually let her do quite a bit in terms of guiding the plane and bring it in for a landing (but of course he took control back for the landing itself). If anyone is interested in a little mini-flight lesson, make sure they take the front seat. Overally great experience. Might seem a little pricey for a relatively short activity ($50 for 30 minutes, although I think it was a little longer), but it was totally worth it.

We even packed extra kitchen supplies, but there was no need because the RV was fully equipped with everything from cookware to baking dishes. The bathroom and shower were clean, the furniture felt new, and there was plenty of room for all four of us: two adults, a 10-year-old, and our almost 3-year-old. One of the things we loved most is that there are so many different options depending on what you're looking for. You can bring a tent, stay in an RV, or rent a cabin, so every family can choose what works best for them. The campground itself is beautiful. The scenery is amazing, the forest is peaceful, the air is fresh, and everything is very clean and well maintained. We loved spending our evenings around the fire pit, and we used the gas grill every day. It was exactly the relaxing family vacation we were hoping for. Everyone we met was friendly. The staff was always welcoming and happy to answer any questions. The other campers were kind and respectful, which made the atmosphere even more enjoyable. There was so much to do. We spent time at the clean pool, enjoyed the lake, and loved seeing all the activities available. Whether you want to relax or stay active, there's something for everyone. The prices are also very reasonable. Before booking, I looked at similar places in different states, and this ended up being the best value by far. The combination of the accommodations, amenities, beautiful surroundings, and activities exceeded our expectations. We left with wonderful memories, and I already know we will be back. I don't even feel like looking for another campground because this place was everything we hoped for. I can easily see this becoming our family's annual camping tradition. I can't imagine having to deal with the crap that us as humans dealt him as if it was his fault! Yet he managed to make everyone that he talked to on March 26 and 27 feel as if they were the one and only person there! Previous advertisement to book with JZ tours: (in May) Full Tailgate food EJ the DJ playing 1:00 bus departure 4 days before event JZ Tours changed itinerary: No tailgate at all No music at all 4:00 bus departure Regardless of situation, as a business some compromise could have been made. Early bus w/ food? Music and bus? I've been a customer of JZ Tours for the past 6 years. I informed my group I have no intention of leaving 3 hours later than advertised with no amenities or compromises being offered. I feel horrible I recommended them! I will never give JZ Tours another dime of my business and will make it a point through voice, text, email, and social media to discourage anyone who would like to travel with them. The explantation for the loss of perks was weak at best, however no attempt at remedy of situation occurred. JZ Tours simply pushed the departure time back and issued a partial refund. If this is how they conduct business, then they have offended me and many others. They do not deserve my or other people's money and business!

I am revising to clarify my original 2 star rating after a question about our experience. We are in a 45 ft 2015 RV towing a vehicle. The gal at check in sent us up to a close area where we never should have been for our size. We then called the desk and they sent people to help us get back out of the area and brought us down to the lake where there was one spot left and was sufficient. Point is that we were lucky not to damage property and someone should have known better at the desk. I will give the park a 5+ star rating for being great for smaller campers, tents, kids, etc. Clean and obviously the owners care about their park. Educate the desk employees. If we had agreed to the spot we were first sent to, the neighbors' fire pit would have been burning under one of our slide outs. Impossible situation. A great spot for families in smaller accommodations or tents.

The tours run consistently throughout the day so if you arrive and miss one, you won't have to wait long for the next one. There is a museum at the top of the hill but we did not have time to go through it. The tour starts with a ride down a miners car towed by a cable. It's not an original car to this mine but retrofitted from another mine and holds about 20 to 25 people. Everyone wears hard hats and if you want a hair net they have them. The tour is about an hour long give or take a few minutes and although I'm sure all the guides know their stuff, Patty was outstanding in giving explanations and answering questions. The mine closed in 1965 and the tourist tour opened in 1985. It is crispy cool and wet and dark and you get lots of views of how the mine operated. Remember, you only get paid for the coal brought out and the crew is expected to churn out about 8 tons a day with which is four carts overfilled. If you wanted to make things easier for yourself you can (like adding safety timbers or a gravity chute) go right ahead but that'll eat into your coal production and again, you only get paid for the coal. We learned about the mules, air shafts, child labor, sally doors, frogs, rats, canaries, and much more. In the area where you pay for your tickets, they also have a nice gift shop with very reasonable pricing, and a small snack shop. Tickets for August 2026 were $12 adults and a small discount for seniors and little children. My wife's pants dragged and now they're black with coal dust. This was a nice excursion to kill some time and we all learned a thing or two!
