Great National Park to visit . Waterfall is impressive. Nice walk to view. Benches to rest on. Worth the visit.

Absolutely stunning falls however you'll have to leave the pups at home.

Absolutely stunning Falls. Winter parking about a mile long walk into the falls as the road is closed. Lovely elevated walkways with a bonus smaller waterfall however no pups allowed.

I grew up 2 miles from Dingman's Falls back in the 60's and 70's. It was so nice when I was younger and now its beautiful with a nice board walk to walk back to the falls and very well built steps to go all the way up to the top of the falls to look down.

5 stars for natural beauty & ease of access! The actual Visitor Center itself seemed to be closed (Fathers Day), but there were staff on-hand to answer questions and hand out maps/information. The entire path to Dingmans falls is almost level with a bench or 2 to rest/take in the surroundings. You also get to see Silverthread Falls a few hundred yards into the trek (there were a lot more downed trees obscuring Silverthread than my previous visit 10 or so years ago) ...at the end of the trail you arrive at the base of Dingmans Falls -- a great cascading noisy delight! Great photo ops, although you may have to joust with other onlookers for a position to snap a pic ;) This time, I opted to take the 'hi-rise' side trail that juts left and up right before you get to the base of the falls...unlike the main 'boardwalk', the side trail has a fair amount of steps - up, down, and up again - placing you above the top of the falls. Perhaps not as photogenic as from the bottom, but it's pretty neat to see the water run over the cliff and see the perspective. If you have small kids or tired knees, you could skip the side trail...but if curiosity gets the better of you, like it did me, it was a fun jaunt. Do I recommend a trip to Dingmans Falls? Absolutely!

Amazing. Located in scenic Poconos, it's not to be missed if you are in the area. Unlike other hiking trails, this is a very easy walk from the parking lot. There is an actual, well maintained boardwalk throughout the entire trail to the main waterfall, about .4 miles. It's a beautiful scenic walk with streams along the way. When you are at the main waterfall, you can walk up the stairs to the top of the waterfall.

Formed of siltstone some 390 million years ago during the middle Devonian, Dingman's Falls has been shaped by subsequent glaciers, which ended 20,000 years ago, water, wind and other geological forces. Today, Dingman's Falls has a drop of 130'. It is billed as the second tallest falls in Pennsylvania. Ironically the tallest falls, Raymondskill Falls, 178' tall, is just minutes away off of 209 North. Dingman's Falls is located just a 10th of a mile from from the Dingman's Bridge. The toll is $1 each way to cross. Once you cross the bridge just turn right. When I arrived early in the morning the 1.2 mile road from route 209 to the Dingman's Visitor Center was chained off. It is a 1.2 mile walk on a paved road surrounded by streams and woods on both sides to the Visitor Center which was closed. From the visitor center a trail will take you to the first falls just 2 minutes away., SilverThread Falls an 8' drop. Signs are posted which state, "stay on the boardwalk". The boardwalk is well maintained and is wheelchair and stroller friendly. From Silver thread to Dingman's Falls a 130' drop, is another 1/4 mile walk on the boardwalk. Once you arrive at Dingman's Falls the boardwalk ends. Stairs continue on however to a location which provides a view from top to bottom. Dingman's Creek supplies the Falls and can be more clearly seen from the top. The stairs are steep and on the day of my visit icy on the final climb. Check the National Park Service website for closing of the park / and or road closing. The best time for photography of these two falls would be 3 pm. Unfortunately I arrived to early for the best shots.

During our annual Pocono waterfall extravaganza we try to get to several in the course of a day and obviously when doing that I know we're going to run out of time in comparison to all the places on my list but we still try to push it good. Push it real good. We got to the Dingmans area late in the day so we knew it would be a fairly short visit. Even though it was a weekday the lot area by the visitor center looked very crowded. This was surprising as the other stops we had made earlier were very dead. Still wanting to at least get a short look we opted in the words of Led Zeppelin to go In Through The Out Door. Following the old handy-dandy GPS we circled around to Doodle Hollow Road where there is a small dirt lot that's along Dingman's Creek. With only one other car in this lot we knew this was the right place to be. The downside of course is that we had no idea how to actually get near the falls. We just started walking along the creek until there was no way to go but up and the way we went I don't even think was a proper trail. Eventually after about fifteen minutes we found the very top of Dingmans Falls along with a sign or two that said that they way we had just walked was not an approved trail by the NPS. Oh well. We hung around there for a bit, took some pictures, had a few people up there with us while we noticed the crowded boardwalk below and we're thankful for the jacked up way we got there. Not the greatest visit as we never got to see the visitor center or go down on the boardwalk to see the falls from the front or go over to Silverthread Falls but no worry as that's where we'll start next year's extravaganza.

On a recent motorcycle adventure, my brother and I crossed the border into Pennsylvania, to see Dingmans Falls. It's a large roaring waterfall, much more impressive than the adjacent Silverthread Falls and the nearby Buttermilk Falls in NJ. Parking is free, and the visitor center has restrooms, a cafe, and a shop (i think). The walk from the parking lot to Silverthread is very short. It's an easy walk on the boardwalk through the woods, much like the boardwalk in Muir Woods in California. The boardwalk continues through the forest and to Dingmans Falls, which are large and loud. There's a viewpoint near the falls, but there are also stairs that will take you to the top. It's a short hike for such an impressive force of nature.

On this gorgeous warm Sunday, my partner and I couldn't resist but to take a ride originally to Bushkill Falls in PA but read on their website it was closed after Nov 25th. Thanks to Yelp, we visited instead Dingmans Falls located at Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area in the Poconos Region of Pennsylvania. It is open year-round, but the 1.2 mile road from the entrance of the park to the visitor center is only open Memorial Day to Labor Day. All other times like today, there's a small parking lot in front of the closed gate or park along Route 209 and walk to the visitor center. Starting at the on-site visitors center, the flat boardwalk trail to Dingmans Falls meanders through a beautiful hemlock ravine. Almost immediately after starting the trail, Silverthread Falls can be seen on the right. The cascade gracefully drops 80 feet through a narrow chute. The boardwalk ends at the base of Dingmans Falls, the second highest waterfall in Pennsylvania. View the falls from the platform or trek the final tenth of a mile via staircase for a birds-eye view from the upper falls. There were numerous hikers today enjoying nature and social distancing. Unfortunately, no Dingmans Falls swimming is allowed anytime. We highly recommend this place as it's free admission not like Bushkill but come early.

Beautiful!

I would recommend seeing these Two gorgeous Waterfalls in the Poconos! They are easy to get to. There is a board walk that takes you straight to the falls. They also have stairs to climb to the top of the falls, if you have the energy and don't mind heights. My kids loved it! A great place to take photos! I would give it more then 5 stars. Beautiful Falls and nice trail to walk.

Credits to Yelpers reviews which helped me decide to suggest the place to my group campers ... it was a splendor place to visit. Two waterfalls in one site, not far from each other. Picture perfect view. Visitor center is closed when we visit but it's a short trail that no need of a map. Easy to navigate area, it has a wooden platform and one way direct path trail. It has safe stairs going to the top of the main falls that all loved the most. Trail was less than a mile walk. An enjoyable, pleasant and interesting trail. It is a state park that costs us FREE. Parking is limited though. Bathroom facilities are clean. Highly recommended.

Beautiful view but long hike. The road to Dingmans Falls parking area was closed so extra walking starting from the route 209 main road. I Love it, while kids complained.

Free!! 2 waterfalls and its an easy walk. It gets crowded in the summer and there are rangers to direct traffic. Once the lot is full, it's pretty much one car out one car in and the rangers will let you know when you can enter the lot. They're also friendly and they walk inside the park too.

I know I shouldn't share this with random readers, but I have to explain it for you guys to understand why I reviewed it. I have a weird thing for rest stops and 24/7 gas stations no matter where it is. I have no idea why. Maybe its b/c time seems to fall back at rest stops, or the fact that you stop there in transit and it becomes a community of drivers in one, creepy location. Whatever the reason, I love stopping at these places. So anyone as odd as myself, I had to share. Okay this is no ordinary rest stop. First, if you need to use the john don't bother going here b/c they have port-a-pottys and they do not smell "potty". The tour is rain or shine unless there is inclement weather. The tickets are non-refundable. My family and I did the Christmas City Stroll on December 23, 2023 at 6:00pm. The tour leaves from the Historic Bethlehem Visitor Center (505 Main Street, Bethlehem) at the selected time. We arrived at the Historic Bethlehem Visitor Center around 15 minutes prior to our tour starting and looked around the store. There are a lot of great souvenirs. We then saw groups of people leaving the store so we figured they were instructed where to go for the start of the tour. The tour started at 1810 Goundie House right next to the Historic Bethlehem Visitor Center. Our tour had about 20 ppl. The tour lasted about an hour and 1/2. We learned a lot of history on cherished traditions: a candle-in-every-window, the renowned Star of Bethlehem and Moravian Star, the community Putz, and Bethlehem's exquisite Victorian and colonial architecture and two National Historic Landmarks: the 1741 Gemeinhaus and the Bethlehem Waterworks. We ended the tour at Bethlehem City Hall. It was beautiful to see the mayor's Christmas tree with more than 285 ornaments created by students at the school with different colored lights and another tree with white lights. The tour guide was dressed in period attire and was very informative. I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in the history of Bethlehem, PA.
