The tours run consistently throughout the day so if you arrive and miss one, you won't have to wait long for the next one. There is a museum at the top of the hill but we did not have time to go through it. The tour starts with a ride down a miners car towed by a cable. It's not an original car to this mine but retrofitted from another mine and holds about 20 to 25 people. Everyone wears hard hats and if you want a hair net they have them. The tour is about an hour long give or take a few minutes and although I'm sure all the guides know their stuff, Patty was outstanding in giving explanations and answering questions. The mine closed in 1965 and the tourist tour opened in 1985. It is crispy cool and wet and dark and you get lots of views of how the mine operated. Remember, you only get paid for the coal brought out and the crew is expected to churn out about 8 tons a day with which is four carts overfilled. If you wanted to make things easier for yourself you can (like adding safety timbers or a gravity chute) go right ahead but that'll eat into your coal production and again, you only get paid for the coal. We learned about the mules, air shafts, child labor, sally doors, frogs, rats, canaries, and much more. In the area where you pay for your tickets, they also have a nice gift shop with very reasonable pricing, and a small snack shop. Tickets for August 2026 were $12 adults and a small discount for seniors and little children. My wife's pants dragged and now they're black with coal dust. This was a nice excursion to kill some time and we all learned a thing or two!

Their drivers Gary ( who pick us up on a 18 passenger Limo Bus at Philadelphia Airport and drove us to Wilkes-Barre and then drove us to NYC on 2 separate occasion) and Allen ( drove us on a 14 passenger Lincoln Navigator to attend a wedding and reception) was very polite and safe drivers. For the 3 separate occasions, it only cost $1610.00 including tolls, parking and 15% gratuity for the drivers. Also the 3 different Limos we used were very clean and beautiful.

At the time I booked with them, I didn't know the precise address of our VRBO property so I told them I would get them that address ASAP. Black Tie called me the day before my scheduled trip to remind me about the address. I called them back immediately to give it to them. However, the voicemail I received from Tom was incredibly snarky and sarcastic. One direct quote: "VRBO properties encompasses two counties up there in the Pocono Mountains, so if we go around to a couple of their different 237 spots that they have listed, it could take us most of the day to find you." I get the point - you need the address. There is no reason to be snarky. However, this alone would not have warranted a 1-star review. The next red flag was on the morning of the trip. I received a call from the driver who was asking me a million questions encompassing all of the information I had already provided. I had given them our address, but he was pushy because I hadn't provided the zip code. He asked me to verify the order of wineries and breweries, but when I did it by name of the winery/brewery, he interrupted and asked me to do it by city. So I had to look up the document I provided to them months before to do so. It seemed clear to me that they didn't want to take this trip or were somehow unhappy with the pricing we had agreed on months before. The final straw was at 11:41AM - 19 minutes before they were supposed to pick us up (at the address we had provided the day before) - I received another call from Tom. He told me that the water pump in the van broke and that they didn't have a replacement vehicle so he would be refunding my money. While I get the refund, that doesn't fully rectify the issue, since I was left without transportation for the day. If this had been something more important - like a wedding - I'm sure I would have insisted that they rent a vehicle or do something to provide the scheduled service. However, given their bad attitudes and pushiness, I decided to take the money and hope that the check didn't bounce. I will never use this company again and I would be reticent to recommend them to anyone given their last minute cancellation.

I explained to him my dad had not seen my brother in over 3 years and Tom showed up with a party bus so we could all see each other and spend quality time together. Tom's son-in-law Tony picked us up in Philly, plans changed again my sister broke her kneecap while in NYC just before getting on the Amtrak. He took my sister to the hospital without any hesitation. Well you can see how accommodating Tom and Tony were and the personal care that was given to me and my family. You ride in small Cessna propeller plane, which can comfortably seat two, and can squeeze a third if you must (two adults and a kid seems reasonable, and there's a coupon on the website to get your third passenger free, so this might be good for families). We did the Delaware Water Gap tour, which is around a half hour. We went in fall, and the scenery was gorgeous, with rivers and mountains covered in colorful autumn trees. You star fairly low so you can still see a lot of what's going on below. The wind tends to be a bit choppy up in the mountains, so this might not be great for those faint of heart or weak of stomach, but it also adds to the thrill. Toward the end of the flight our pilot let my girlfriend take control and fly the plane. This was a big thrill for her, and he actually let her do quite a bit in terms of guiding the plane and bring it in for a landing (but of course he took control back for the landing itself). If anyone is interested in a little mini-flight lesson, make sure they take the front seat. Overally great experience. Might seem a little pricey for a relatively short activity ($50 for 30 minutes, although I think it was a little longer), but it was totally worth it.

He went out of his way to make sure everyone in our group was getting a great experience. Hal gave us a plethora of facts we would've never known, and showed us things in NY that blew our minds. We're still telling stories to our friends about what he taught us. The three biggest things we did in NY was this tour, Coney Island, and center stage for Wicked at the Gershwin. If I had to choose one it would be this tour with Hal, everyday and twice on Sunday! I literally laughed, cried, and just stood in awe at times. Thank you, it was the best money we spent in NY.

We enjoyed the outdoors, and for a bit had the lake to ourselves. However, I can't imagine peak season when there would be more boats on the lake - it's a nice distance to kayak, but as soon as others are on the lake it doesn't feel very bit. While we were out, there was a very irresponsible boater who essentially circled us at a high speed and sent our kayaks wild when the waves converged. Luckily we are experienced and didn't tip and find ourselves swimming in the lake - but that boater was truly a jerk. So, if you're looking to rent a place for a week - my recommendation is going in the off-season and keep an eye out for bad speed boaters. :)

I hear on the weekends more Shirt Term rentals occupants than owners are there. Plus the weekend renters feel like they should be treated like guests at a Sheraton.
