When I moved from Chicago to NYC in 2018, I was so nervous that I wouldn't be able to find anyone to do my threading and waxing the way my ladies back home had been doing for over 15 years. Surprisingly, I found this gem of a place, even though it's across town from me, and I haven't had to look elsewhere since! Himalayan has the best service, chillest vibe, and they are always on point! Sonya is my go-to lady and she's kind, funny, and efficient! I love that I can be in and out for a leg wax and threading in less than 30 mins! I'm pretty sure my commute takes longer than the services, but it's always worth the trek across town.

The owner, Monique, is usually on site and is able to answer any questions. The location is soothing and calming for anyone who may be nervous or going in for their first service. The staff is kind and friendly so while they're ripping your hair from the root, you're distracted with conversation. Don't get me wrong, I usually am not chatty during personal services but I like that they check in to make sure you don't leave dissatisfied. I've never had any issues with random stray hairs and they have a bathroom with wipes and other items to ensure you're prepped for your service. My first appointment was about ~ 8/9 years ago and I'm still a fan so that says a lot!

(I'm sharing but please don't start overbooking with my person) I ended up getting a wax pass where you purchase a bunch of waxes in advance and that saves you when you come for the future services. I find it worthwhile because it also gives you a discount when you come in for your next service and its pre-paid. The inly extra expense you're only paying for would be the tip. Generally there isn't a long wait and if there is whoch has only happened once, I was kept up to date the whole time. So when I looked up waxing services on Yelp and noticed that Uni K was nearby, with great reviews and online booking I was locked in! First of all, it was so happy to see that they had some same day appointment availability! Why that may not always be the case, some booking systems will still only show starting next day. I also loved that their menu had a lot of options, including more than one type of Brazilian to book. When I showed up to my appointment, I checked in and filled out some basic, new client information. I was then taken to my room with my waxer promptly after. They use hard wax here which many people prefer, but for me hurts the most. But I don't really care what is used as long as they're hygienic, quick, effective and will not spawn in-grown hairs. My waxer was quick, thorough and one week out...things are still looking good! As a bonus, first time clients got a significant discount which made me even happier about my experience. While my experience before check out was already excellent, that was just icing on the cake. Overall, I left very impressed and will definitely return again in the future!
