I got the cut at a place at Yonge and Eglinton, and it was just "okay". When I needed a trim, called Ferraro as it's a few blocks from home. I specifically asked for someone with experience with women's short cuts. "No problem," they said, "you're looking for Patrick." Patrick has a background in barbering, so he knows short hair. Doesn't matter if it's on a man's or a woman's head, the technique will be the same. He did a great job, and I've returned several times, never disappointed. Patrick also keeps notes on his clients, and reviews them before every appointment. He listens and chats with you in the chair before shampooing (very important!) and makes sure he understands what you want. The biggest issue I've encountered with stylists and my short hair, is that they always cut it too short. They all do this, whether you're paying $65 or $120. Patrick is the exception and has not made this mistake. You can fix too long, you can't fix too short. He is conservative but very skilled and understands hair and how it will fall/sit. As another poster mentioned, the pricing is the definition of reasonable. Oh, and the staff is friendly and unpretentious. No egos, just good service.

As a QTBIPOC I can't help but wonder if this is typical Karen behaviour. This is especially so based on comment about textured hair. I sent a message to manager the next day to talk through what happened - and the manager begins to get hostile and tell me her stylist was sad i was unhappy ... does not offer to fix it. I was lucky to get an appointment in the same week, I was monitoring the website looking for openings since I was desperate after the long lockdown. When I arrived, I had to text a number and someone came to get me from inside the salon. They were great about physical distancing and covid safety measures with clear dividers between each salon chair and hair washing stations. Droudy was excellent, she was gentle and patient and was able to understand exactly what I wanted even with my less than optimal descriptions. I told her I cut my hair myself and she said she would be able to fix it and clean it all up for me. She also took her time to explain what exactly she was going to do by showing me the back of my hair and explaining what would look best. The whole experience was very therapeutic and exactly what I needed. Even after she blow dried my hair, I asked her to cut the front pieces a bit shorter and she was happy to accommodate. She also asked me if I was ok with all the products she was using which is something no other hair stylist has ever asked before - small touch but I really appreciated it. I will 100% be returning to Civello to see Droudy for all my future hair appointments!!
