Hi guys! I've decided to be a bit of a #beautyblogger. I've been having such a hard time finding a…read moregood nail salon and artist to do my Biogel manicure. I was looking for reviews online on google and here, and there is hardly anything available. So, I've decided to share my experiences here. Hopefully, they will be useful for someone. On Tuesday, I tried @ananekebeautysalon. I went there to get my Biogel manicure refill. They are in Yonge and Eglinton area. This place was recommended to me, and it had such good reviews on Yelp, and BlogTo. Plus, with a personal recommendation, I thought it was going to be my go-to nail salon. Maybe it's just my luck but this is not going to happen. I do not remember the name of my nail artist. Here is a list of things I didn't like. 1) She took forever to do my refill, literally over 1.5 hours. I don't do anything complicated on my hands. Usually, it's just a French manicure which I was getting this time. She kept messing up the white lines on top of the nails and redoing them. And then again. And again. And again. ‍ While I did appreciate the effort to get it right, this is the first time somebody had to redo several times half of my nails. By the end of it, I wasn't sure that the lady knew what she was doing. 2) The lady didn't file the edges of my nails properly. I didn't notice it in the salon, but I noticed it later that day when I was already on my way home. 3) She was doing such a bad job filing my nails and cut so much skin next to the nail bed on one of my fingers that it hurt for a few days. 4) On Friday, four days later, the white gel polish started chipping on several of my nails. This is ridiculous. This is biogel. It last forever and can survive alien invasion, nuclear war, and zombie apocalypse. This is the reason why I do it: biogel is the only thing that doesn't chip on my hands for three weeks. I don't know how this lady did it that it started chipping so early. Not a happy customer here. Sadly, after this experience I can not recommend this place to anybody. Please avoid it. ‍

The Yonge and Eglinton Location had fantastic service. My girlfriend and I purchased her Dyson Supersonic Blow Dryer from this location. We were originally at the Hillcrest Mall Sephora in Richmond Hill which by far the worst Sephora experience I ever received. It was the sales representative on the Sephora's hotline that helped to locate the Dyson for us at the Yonge-Eglinton Sephora location and even put it on hold for us at that store. One of the sales rep (I apologize I forgot her name) that helped my girlfriend with some hair products was extremely friendly, helpful and very generous with all the samples she provided for my girlfriend. We were greeted by other sales associates as well. Would definitely come back to the Yonge-Eglinton Sephora location. Just wished there was parking validation if you shopped at Sephora but that's not Sephora's fault that there isn't.

Cashier looked at me all dumb and said she couldnt return the shampoo because there was something wrong with it, i received said shampoo via mail so not sure what the issue was. I asked if i there was someone i could contact online since it was an online order and didnt answer instead called the manager, for what, who knows? manager told me the same thing about the shampoo when my question was another. After the transaction for another product i had received was complete she went to the other side of the cash area and didnt even let me know we were done. I didnt receive a receipt so im not sure if we were done, waited there for 5 min like an idiot until her other coworker asked her if we were done cause i guess she was ignoring us. Terrible customer service, not sure who is training these people tbh, contacted customer care and they were able to resolve the issue. Rude and unnecessary.

They inject the site with a teeny needle (very mildly uncomfortable) and bam, it stops the development in its tracks. By the next day, you're good to go. Over the years I've had more of these than I care to admit...with absolutely no long-term effects on my skin. When I feel one coming in I usually just walk into Bellair at Yonge and Eglinton without an appointment, and I'm typically served within minutes. The whole process itself takes minutes. But of course, you could also call ahead. As for this facility...it's beautiful, modern, fresh and clean, and the staff are lovely.

I posted this review a week ago sharing my experience because I didn't want anyone else going…read morethrough what I went through. Back story: I had appointments in January for laser scar removal. However, I was given a skin lighting cream to use in conjunction with my treatments and was not told that I needed to stop three days prior to my appointment. I ended up going to my appointment but was told that I needed to move the appointment to a different day since I had just used a lightening skin cream that morning. I was told to email the director to reinstate my appointment. In January he emailed me back and reinstated my appointment. I then went to the appointment he reinstated. Please find attached screenshots for reference of our communication. That happened in January and fast forward we are now in April. As time passed I really wasn't satisfied with the service provided so I decided to leave a review a week ago. After my review the owner unprofessionally revoked my last treatment session coming up in May. This was a complete separate appointment with a different laser which I paid for separately from the one he reinstated. I have already paid in full and he has not provided me a refund. He decided to cancel my last upcoming appointment out of spite due to my bad review and is trying to link it to the missed appointment that he already reinstated in January (almost 5 months ago). I truly wish I had read reviews before booking at this establishment. My background as a nurse gives me a different perspective. Some staff members seemed underqualified, contributing to an uncomfortable environment from the beginning. During my second laser session, the nurse appeared unsure of how to use the laser and needed assistance. The procedure was incredibly painful, resulting in scarring. Despite assurances that this was normal, the pain was intense, and six treatments have not improved the scars. I need to mention that a-lot of 5 star reviews are misleading because the owner often reinstates appointments in exchange for reviews. While I understand that not every client will have a negative experience, it's crucial to take the poor reviews seriously. Sometimes the issues can be remedied by how it is handled. However, the way the owner handles issues at this company demonstrates a lack of professionalism and extreme immaturity. In response to any criticism, he decides to just cancel your appointments unethically. I caution you that if you do have any negative feedback please leave them after all your appointments have been completed. Please see attached photos:

The 2nd: a sour owner who seemed miffed that my using her Groupon offer meant I was ripping her off. -- I mean, she is the one who agreed to the package price, and I'd called her directly rather so she wouldn't lose money to Groupon! Most unpleasant. I found Medica Laser Spa through Groupon, also, called them directly (which they appreciated), and they agreed to the same package price. Also, the area I need treating is not the face but the decolletage area, and they agreed to treat that area, instead. Their IPL treatments, though, are incredible by comparison! They do the regular treatment stuff (IPL, face serum, SPF cream) but then do much more: They do a couple of other serums and an oxygen bath. They spend twice the amount of time on me as the other places had. Medica Laser Spa's staff go above and beyond the minimum -- the best deal in the city for IPL that I've found. Plus, again, they're NICE. And I really like to support nice businesses and not feed the negative ones. The location is right beside the Eglinton subway station so the convenience is great. I did this back in 2013 so I don't remember the two ladies' names but I think one of them was Rose. Neither ladies ever tried to up sell me for any other services and both were always making sure that the laser level was just enough (not too painful). The place was clean and neat. The equipment they use all look very new too. Every time I come in for an appointment, they would ask the standard questions to make sure you are suitable for the laser session (sun exposure, whether you shaved or not, etc). Then they disinfect the area before actually lasering. One time, I forgot to shave (you need to shave before the laser session) and normally there would be a $25 shave fee (ridiculous, really) but the lady didn't charge me. Thank god she didn't. I would not have been happy about someone taking a dollar razor and forcing me to pay $25 for them to use it! After the laser session, she would apply aloe to sooth the redness. The entire treatment took maybe 10 mins. Quick and easy. By the end of the year, the hair for the most part was gone (total of 8 sessions). I'm pretty happy with the results. It's been 2 years since and the hair hasn't come back. I would recommend going to this place for laser hair removal!
