Had to take my twins to get their labs done, so I went to the quest located in Rockville, LI. Site had great parking with is always a big plus.. Site was clean and easy to find in the building. We got there a bit earlier, I was hoping to be taken sooner, but it didn't happen. But, at least we were taking right on our appointment time. We checked in at the self check in machine, it was pretty straightforward to use. There was a worker at the desk if you needed help. Phlebotomist , did her paper work and handle both my kids. Her energy was a bit low, but maybe she was having a long day. Kids said she was good with the needle and they didn't feel it ( so she gets a pass ) I would definitely go back if I have to.

The first sign that it was going to be a smooth appointment was when I pulled up to the massive parking lot.. so many open spots to choose from! The second sign was that I was called into the room literally within one minute of checking in for my appointment time. Things were looking good! One moment later, I had the good luck of receiving Glenyss as my lab technician. I was a "chatty-kathy" as I always am when it comes to needles, but her bedside manner, friendly & warm personality, and sense of humor really put me at ease. I had to get two vials drawn and I couldn't even feel or notice when she transitioned to the second one. It was over before I knew it! I've had blood drawn several times in my life and this was hands down, the best experience ever! On top of all that, Glenyss gave me a sticker from the movie Cars, as I "seem to be a car guy." I literally felt like a kid again.. how cool! LabCorp, if you're reading this... Glenyss over at your Rockville Center location for sure deserves a raise! She's doing an incredibly amazing job and is a great asset to your company.

Let me start by informing all American patients who patronize this lab that Sunrise Medical Labs is not an American-owned business. They are a subsidiary of a very large, global healthcare conglomerate named Sonic Healthcare Limited, an Australian company. This is important to know, because if you have a problem with Sunrise Medical Labs, Sonic Healthcare will not help you. Sunrise Medical Labs themselves did not address or respond to some very serious issues that I experienced at their lab. Sonic Healthcare's American corporate office also ignored my request for assistance. This lab is a disaster. Disorganized staff, extremely rude, uncaring staff, incompetent staff. Staff that didn't know the correct type of blood test, and, in fact, didn't even know what the blood test was. Staff that refused to escalate issues or even respond to valid, serious complaints. I'm confident this place would be shut down quickly if these issues were brought to the attention of the applicable regulatory agencies that monitor lab practices. Since healthcare is unlike most other businesses; dealing with what can sometimes be life and death issues, labs such as Sunrise Medical Labs should be held to a higher standard than other types of businesses. I cannot recommend this lab and highly advise anyone visiting this lab to be very careful and closely monitor the staff. This review is solely my opinion about this business and you might find that your experience differs from mine.

The last time I went in…read moreMarch for a cold, possible infection, they tested me and the next day called me and said I had a regular cold. Two days later I called and told them my symptoms were worse and I think I needed an antibiotic. They told me that I needed to wait 10 days. I called back the next day and explained to them that I believed I had an infection based on the color and the amount of nasal discharge I was experiencing. I felt worse, despite using the netipot and over the counter cold meds. Again, I was told I needed to wait 10 days. I was so frustrated that I called an ENT in Melville and they took me immediately. I had a raging sinus infection and my right eardrum was very inflamed blocking it from opening and causing me muffled hearing. I was put on prednisone and an antibiotic. When the issue didn't resolve, I went to the ER at NYU Langone and they said everything was still very inflamed in the ear. They put me on another antibiotic and sent me to their team in Garden City. That ENT gave me steroid for the ear, told me to continue the antibiotic and has seen me several times to manage my blocked ear. It is now 9 weeks later and I still have Eustachian Tube Dysfunction. This all could have been avoided if that initial doctor at AFC would have let me come back each time (twice) I called to have them look at me again. A simple cold turned into a raging infection that has now left me with ETD. I will never go to another AFC. I knew something was wrong, but this doctor thought he knew better than me without re-checking me. I don't understand it, it was my dime. So unprofessional!

Despite being present ahead of her scheduled time, she was not properly assisted or acknowledged in a timely manner. In a healthcare setting, professionalism, courtesy, and clear communication are essential--especially when patients may already be feeling anxious about their appointments. Unfortunately, that standard was not met. This experience reflects poorly on the level of patient care and respect that should be expected.
