The 2 stars are for decent parking and the on-site experience…read more-- bare bones, but the techs were nice when I went there for both mammogram and ultrasound, and got me through quickly. If you care about communicating with them on any level, I'd pick somewhere else. Making an appointment is a huge pain, because you have to call and go through some central customer service center, no matter what number you call, and there is always a lengthy hold time (although they will call you back). You'd think a massive company like this would have a similar setup to Quest allowing online booking, if you can't reach the specific location directly. Also takes a while to get in. Good luck if you have any questions later or need to either get them old records to refer to or get a copy of your scans from them. Calling gets you the long hold time and then the scheduling people, who of course have no info outside of that. After a long conversation, the rep said she'd have someone at the location call me back, which they never did. I got locked out of my patient portal account and sent multiple messages to their tech help desk, never heard back or was able to get back in. I tried *three times* to get them old records, once authorizing them to contact my previous facility, the others involving me speaking with the facility. They were either never received or not uploaded -- hard to tell which, as you can't talk to anyone, but when I got a copy for myself I received them in 3 days, so the issue is at the Akumin end somewhere. I needed to get copies of my scans & reports from them, spoke with someone at the central number yet again, said I'd pick up from this location in 3 days. Ended up delayed on that, so they even had additional time to deal with it, yet when I showed up there was nothing waiting for me. Fortunately, it wasn't busy at the time and I had 15 minutes to hang out while they burned a CD and printed things out. Aaaaand just received a results letter from them regarding a scan in MARCH -- it is now JUNE. The content of the letter is also only partially correct. Won't be going back unless my insurance gives me no other option.

The front desk staff was kind, helpful and informative. After being directed into a room, they took my son's vitals and we were quickly seen by Tony Atwell. He had amazing bedside manner--was so friendly, caring, and thoughtful. Since our son was so young, Tony was apprehensive about over-medicating which I appreciated. He answered all of my questions and put all of my concerns at ease. We got some prescriptions and were on our way. I felt like we were truly cared for and not rushed out of the room. Did not take any care in drawing my blood. I dealt with it. Cold as ice she was but I let it go knowing that people can have a bad day when they are sticking needles in my arm. Friday was unacceptable. I get called in over a half hour late, I am very sick and struggle to get here to for blood work. She angrily has me sit and I complimented her hoping to ease her mood, for she did a good job drawing my blood last time because others can't draw my blood well. I was hoping to make her smile and take that angry look off of her face. Instead she rudely states she is having a really bad day and not to expect this blood draw to go as well with an angry face. WOW Then she says my orders are wrong which they were not. Then she asked which arm ? I had my right arm on the rest with my sleeve up and she says where do I want her to stick the needle ? At this point I asked her not to be so rude and then she got even more angry. I then decided This woman is not touching me and left. How could you let someone draw blood that is miserable all the time and lets her patients know it ???? I am very sick and this was absolutely no way to treat a sick person. She's asking Me ? where to stick the needle ??? I will never use this place again and I am seeking legal action against this place. I know for a fact that I am not the only one she has treated like this. She needs to be dismissed from her Job. Absolutely not right for this to happen to anyone. It is hard enough to get blood drawn when your sick, Who wants a phlebotomist that hates her job and can't even be nice when you walk in the room ? Leave your personal life at home and don't take it out on sick people. I continue to be blown away by the level of care we receive here. The doctors and staff are not only incredibly knowledgeable, but genuinely kind, compassionate, patient and thorough. They listen. They take your concerns seriously. And most importantly, they make you feel like they truly care about the person sitting in front of them. We have walked through their doors for everything from injuries requiring X-rays to kidney stones, strep, the flu and more and no matter what brought us in, the level of care has been consistently outstanding.
